We compared subgroup differences in COVID-19 case and mortality and investigated factors associated with case and mortality rate(MR)measured at the county level in *** were based on data published by the Mississippi State Department of Health between March 11 and July 16,*** COVID-19 case rate and case fatality rate(CFR)differed by gender and race,while MR only differed by *** aged 80 years or older and those who live in a non-metro area had a higher case rate,CFR,and *** controlling for selected factors,researchers found that the percent of residents who are obese,low income,or with certain chronic conditions were associated with the county COVID-19 case rate,CFR,and/or MR,though some were negatively *** findings may help the state to identify counties with higher COVID-19 case rate,CFR,and MR based on county demographics and the degree of its chronic conditions.

An analytic study of the structure of sea-land breezes is presented, with special attention paid to the dependence on the model parameters. In this linearized model, the wind speed of the sea-land breezes is directly proportional to the difference of sea and land heating rates. For the same differential heating, the sea-land breeze is more prominent if the stratification is weakly stable, or if the frictional force is small. The horizontal penetration from the coast is also investigated, and found to be asymmetric between the land and the sea. The above results are in agreement with observation.

BACkGROUND Diabetic foot(DMF)complications are common and are increasing in *** factors related to wound complications are yet to be established after transtibial amputation under the diagnosis of DMF *** To analyze the prognosis and risk factors related to wound complications after transtibial amputation in patients with *** This retrospective cohort study included seventy-two patients with DMF complications who underwent transtibial amputation between April 2014 and March *** groups were categorized based on the occurrence of wound complications,and we compared demographic data between the complication group and the non-complication group to analyze risk ***,a multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk *** The average follow-up period was 36.2 *** the 72 cases,31(43.1%)had wound *** these,12 cases(16.7%)received further treatment,such as debridement,soft tissue stump revision,and re-amputation at the proximal *** a group that required further management due to wound complications after transtibial amputation,the hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)level was 9.32,while the other group that did not require any treatment had a 7.54 HbA1c *** prevalence of a history of kidney transplantation with wound complications after transtibial amputation surgery in DMF patients was significantly greater than in cases without wound complications(P=0.02).Other factors did not show significant *** Approximately 43.1%of the patients with transtibial amputation surgery experienced wound complications,and 16.7%required additional surgical *** HbA1c levels and kidney transplant history are risk factors for postoperative wound complications.
