The global concerns of energy crisis and climate change,primarily caused by carbon dioxide(cO_(2)),are of utmost ***,the electrocatalytic cO_(2) reduction reaction(cO_(2)RR) to high value-added multi-carbon(c_(2+)) products driven by renewable electricity has emerged as a highly promising solution to alleviate energy shortages and achieve carbon *** these c_(2+) products,ethylene(c_(2)H_(4))holds particular importance in the petrochemical ***,this review aims to establish a connection between the fundamentals of electrocatalytic cO_(2) reduction reaction to ethylene(cO_(2)RRto-c_(2)H_(4)) in laboratory-scale research(lab) and its potential applications in industrial-level fabrication(fab).The review begins by summarizing the fundamental aspects,including the design strategies of high-performance cu-based electrocatalysts and advanced electrolyzer ***,innovative and value-added techniques are presented to address the inherent challenges encountered during the implementations of cO_(2)RR-to-c_(2)H_(4) in industrial ***,case studies of the technoeconomic analysis of the cO_(2)RR-to-c_(2)H_(4) process are discussed,taking into factors such as costeffectiveness,scalability,and market *** review concludes by outlining the perspectives and challenges associated with scaling up the cO_(2)RR-to-c_(2)H_(4) *** insights presented in this review are expected to make a valuable contribution in advancing the cO_(2)RR-to-c_(2)H_(4) process from lab to fab.

The lack of food security leads us to turn to the riches of the forest, namely non-timber forest products (NTFP) and timber forest products (TFP). In Burkina, these products are a source of income for families, improving their living conditions. Tamarindus indica L. that is a NFTP, is widely used in both rural and urban areas. Unfortunately, tamarind is subject to attack by caryedon serratus. Its biological activity begins on the fruit before the harvest. The aim of our study is to evaluate some biodemographic parameters of the insect pest c. serratus Olivier. First100 healthy T. indica pods were placed in contact with ten pairs of c. serratus for 24 hours. 25 pods, each carrying a maximum of two eggs, were divided into five batches of 5 pods. Then a pair of c. serratus aged less than 24 h was placed in contact with 4 healthy pods for 24 h. Every day, the pair was removed and transferred to another box containing 4 new healthy pods. A total of 20 replicates were performed. The results showed that c. serratus has an average lifespan of 14 days. However, the female (16 days) lived longer and laid an average of 34 eggs during her lifetime. The egg-laying period lasted 14 days, the number of eggs increased until reaching a maximum peak on the 4th day. c. serratus has an embryonic development time of 3 days and an emergence rate of 66.63%. However, the weight of males and females differed significantly (p = 0.0108). We found an intrinsic rate of natural increase of 0.12 and a population doubling time was 5.68 days. These results have enabled us to gain a better understanding of its development cycle and its capacity for regeneration. This allows us to implement control strategies for better stock protection.

The present study focuses on the formulation of new composite consisting of plaster and raffia vinifera particle (RVP) with the purpose to reducing energy consumption. The aim of this study is to test this new compound as an insulating eco-material in building in a tropical climate. The composites samples were developed by mixing plaster with raffia vinifera particles (RVP) using three different sizes (1.6 mm, 2.5 mm and 4 mm). The effects of four different RVP incorporations rates (i.e., 0wt%, 5wt%;10wt%;15wt%) on physical, thermal, mechanicals properties of the composites were investigated. In addition, the use of the raffia vinifera particles and plaster based composite material as building envelopes thermal insulation material is studied by the habitable cell thermal behavior instrumentation. The results indicate that the incorporation of raffia vinifera particle leads to improve the new composite physical, mechanical and thermal properties. And the parametric analysis reveals that the sampling rate and the size of raffia vinifera particles are the most decisive factor to impact these properties, and to decreases in the thermal conductivity which leads to an improvement to the thermal resistance and energy savings. The best improvement of plaster composite was obtained at the raffia vinifera particles size between 2.5 and 4.0 mm loading of 5wt% (c95P5R) with a good ratio of thermo-physical-mechanical properties. Additionally, the habitable cell experimental thermal behavior, with the new raffia vinifera particles and plaster-based composite as thermal insulating material for building walls, gives an average damping of 4°c and 5.8°c in the insulated house interior environment respectively for cold and hot cases compared to the outside environment and the uninsulated house interior environment. The current study highlights that this mixture gives the new composite thermal insulation properties applicable in the eco-construction of habitats in tropical environments

This paper considers a correlated risk model with thinning-dependence structure. The au- thors investigate the optimal proportional reinsurance that maximizes the adjustment coefficient and the optimal proportional reinsurance under mean variance principle for the proposed model. The au- thors derive the optimal solutions and the numerical illustrations to show the impact of the dependence among the classes of business on the optimal reinsurance arrangements.

We consider the spectrally negative L@vy processes and determine the joint laws for the quantities such as the first and last passage times over a fixed level, the overshoots and undershoots at first passage, the minimum, the maximum, and the duration of negative values. We apply our results to insurance risk theory to find an explicit expression for the generalized expected discounted penalty function in terms of scale functions. Furthermore, a new expression for the generalized Dickson＇s formula is provided.

In this paper, we discuss the problem of testing the hypothesis that the underlying regression isa partial linear model. A test statistic, which is based on the quadratic form of a cusum process of residuals,is proposed. The asymptotic distributions of the test statistic under null hypothesis and the local alternativehypothesis are given. The number simulation shows that the test is available.

In this paper we consider risk processes with two classes of business in which the two claim-number processes are dependent cox processes. We first assume that the two claim-number processes have a two-dimensional Markovian intensity. Under this assumption, we not only study the sum of the two individual risk processes but also investigate the two-dimensional risk process formed by considering the two individual processes separately. For each of the two risk processes we derive an expression for the ruin probability, and then construct an upper bound for the ruin probability. We next assume that the intensity of the two claim-number processes follows a Markov chain. In this case, we examine the ruin probability of the sum of the two individual risk processes. Specifically, a differential system for the ruin probability is derived and numerical results are obtained for exponential claim sizes.

The current healthcare system in Hong Kong is experiencing pressure due to constrained resources,with dramatic increases in inpatient services queue lengths,dissatisfaction with the working environment,unacceptable workforce arrangements and high turnover rate of hospital *** maintain the robustness of the healthcare system and a sustainable inpatients flow,the Food and Health Bureau launched a public-private partnership programme to utilise the resources of the public and private *** research investigates the potential for extension of the programme and further enhancing the sustainability of the long-term inpatient services under a mixed public-private healthcare policy via system dynamic *** findings show that an increase of human resources in public hospitals does not substantially improve inpatient flow rate ***,the results from the system dynamic approach provide insights into the expansion of the service areas of the programme and suggest increasing the number of referrals to private hospitals.

About 80% of cowpea seeds are lost along with 30% of their weight after six months of unprotected storage due to attacks by callosobruchus maculatus. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of applying bioinsecticides on the biological parameters of c. maculatus to reduce its damage to cowpea stocks. Four treatments including an untreated control and three doses of powdery extracts of c. nigricans, Z. zanthoxyloides and H. suaveolens, were compared in a Fischer block with four completely randomized repetitions. One hundred undamaged cowpea seeds were mixed with doses of each extract in Petri dishes and then fed as food substrates to ten pairs of c. maculatus for eight days. The extracts of H. suaveolens, c. nigricans and Z. zanthoxyloides all contain active ingredients including polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins and alkaloids, etc. The extract of Z. zanthoxyloides was found to be more active on adults (100.00% mortality) followed by c. nigricans (98.75% mortality) and H. suaveolens (97.50% mortality) at 80 mg/g. Fecundity per female decreased significantly in the treated batches of 13.82 eggs for H. suaveolens at 10.12 eggs for c. nigricans at a dose of 80 mg/g. Germination rate of seeds was statistically raised to 100% at 60 and 80 mg/g by c. nigricans powder and lowered to 83.00% at 20 mg/g by Z. zanthoxyloides extracts. The application of Z. zanthoxyloides extract would be a less expensive alternative for the sustainable management of c. maculatus in cowpea stocks.
