Effects of sterilization treatments on the analysis of TOC in water samples

Decomposition experiments conducted with and without microbial processes are commonly used to study the effects of environmental microorganisms on the degradation of organic ***,the effects of biological pretreatment （sterilization） on organic matter often have a negative impact on such *** on the principle of water total organic carbon （TOC） analysis,the effects of physical sterilization treatments on determination of TOC and other water quality parameters were *** results revealed that two conventional physical sterilization treatments,autoclaving and 60 Co γ-radiation sterilization,led to the direct decomposition of some organic pollutants,resulting in remarkable errors in the analysis of TOC in water ***,the extent of the errors varied with the intensity and the duration of sterilization ***,a novel sterilization method for water samples,0.45 μm micro-filtration coupled with ultraviolet radiation （MCUR）,was developed in the present *** results indicated that the MCUR method was capable of exerting a high bactericidal effect on the water sample while significantly decreasing the negative impact on the analysis of TOC and other water quality *** and after sterilization treatments,the relative errors of TOC determination could be controlled to lower than 3% for water samples with different categories and concentrations of organic pollutants by using MCUR.

以我国南方地区典型的单季水稻生产大田为研究对象,按土壤质地分为壤质和粘质两个系列,探讨不同质地稻田土壤理化性质变化对连续免耕的响应规律。结果表明,在无秸秆覆盖条件下,随着免耕年限的增加,壤质和粘质稻田土壤的耕层均有紧实度提高的趋势,特别是粘质土壤,导致耕层变浅。与常年翻耕土壤相比,免耕6a后壤质水稻土0—20 cm土层的紧实度值平均增加了32%,而粘质的平均增加了90%。在相同免耕年限条件下粘质稻田土壤容重的增加也比壤质土壤的明显。壤质土壤0—10 cm土层有机质和碱解氮含量随免耕年限延长而提高,而在粘质土壤则显著降低。无论是壤质还是粘质土壤,连续免耕多年后土壤速效磷均在耕层(0—20 cm)富集,而速效钾则相反。总体而言,壤质水稻土对免耕的适宜性要优于粘质土壤;应根据土壤质地的不同选择性地实施免耕技术,并结合秸秆覆盖,以实现免耕稻田土壤的可持续利用。

晋西黄绵土坡面细沟形态及其对产流产沙的影响

基于室内人工模拟降雨试验方法,选取细沟密度、细沟割裂度和细沟宽深比3个细沟形态指标,对晋西黄绵土坡面细沟形态演变特征进行分析,并探讨了降雨条件下不同坡长坡面细沟形态对产流产沙规律的影响。结果表明,晋西黄绵土坡面细沟形态演变过程为:先形成跌坎,跌坎贯穿发育为细沟,再形成细沟网,最后发生细沟崩塌。细沟密度与割裂度均随坡长和雨强的增大而增大,细沟宽深比随二者的增大而减小;坡长对细沟密度和细沟宽深比的影响较雨强敏感,而降雨强度对细沟割裂度的影响更加敏感。坡面平均产流率随坡长的变化可用线性函数描述(R2>0.95),平均产沙率随坡长的变化可用幂函数描述(R2>0.96),二者均随坡长和雨强的增大而增大。相关性分析表明,产流产沙率与细沟割裂度在0.01水平上呈极显著正相关,相关系数均大于0.97,与细沟密度在0.05水平上呈显著正相关,相关系数均大于0.70。

Reconstruction characteristics of gut microbiota from patients with type 1 diabetes affect the phenotypic reproducibility of glucose metabolism in mice

The human microbiota-associated(HMA) mice model, especially the germ-free(GF)-humanized mice, has been widely used to probe the causal relationships between gut microbiota and human diseases such as type 1 diabetes(T1D). However, most studies have not clarified the extent to which the reconstruction of the human donor microbiota in recipient mice correlates with corresponding phenotypic reproducibility. In this study, we transplanted fecal microbiota from five patients with T1D and four healthy people into GF mice, and microbiota from each donor were transplanted into 10 mice. Mice with similar microbiota structure to the donor exhibited better phenotypic reproducibility. The characteristics of the microbial community assembly of donors also influenced the phenotypic reproducibility in mice, and individuals with a higher proportion of stochastic processes showed more severe disorders. Microbes enriched in patients with T1D had a stronger colonization potential in mice with impaired glucose metabolism, and microbiota functional features related to T1D were better reproduced in these mice. This indicates that assembly traits and colonization efficacy of microbiota influence phenotypic reproducibility in GF-humanized mice. Our findings provide important insights for using HMA mice models to explore links between gut microbiota and human diseases.

Potassium and calcium channels in different nerve cells act as therapeutic targets in neurological disorders

The central nervous system, information integration center of the body, is mainly composed of neurons and glial cells. The neuron is one of the most basic and important structural and functional units of the central nervous system, with sensory stimulation and excitation conduction functions. Astrocytes and microglia belong to the glial cell family, which is the main source of cytokines and represents the main defense system of the central nervous system. Nerve cells undergo neurotransmission or gliotransmission, which regulates neuronal activity via the ion channels, receptors, or transporters expressed on nerve cell membranes. Ion channels, composed of large transmembrane proteins, play crucial roles in maintaining nerve cell homeostasis. These channels are also important for control of the membrane potential and in the secretion of neurotransmitters. A variety of cellular functions and life activities, including functional regulation of the central nervous system, the generation and conduction of nerve excitation, the occurrence of receptor potential, heart pulsation, smooth muscle peristalsis, skeletal muscle contraction, and hormone secretion, are closely related to ion channels associated with passive transmembrane transport. Two types of ion channels in the central nervous system, potassium channels and calcium channels, are closely related to various neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy. Accordingly, various drugs that can affect these ion channels have been explored deeply to provide new directions for the treatment of these neurological disorders. In this review, we focus on the functions of potassium and calcium ion channels in different nerve cells and their involvement in neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, depression, epilepsy, autism, and rare disorders. The Mechanism of Heating Rate on the Secondary Recrystallization Evolution in Grain Oriented Silicon Steel

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Engine Misfire Fault Detection Based on the Channel Attention Convolutional Model

To accurately diagnosemisfire faults in automotive engines,we propose a Channel Attention Convolutional Model,specifically the Squeeze-and-Excitation Networks(SENET),for classifying engine vibration signals and precisely pinpointing misfire *** the experiment,we established a total of 11 distinct states,encompassing the engine’s normal state,single-cylinder misfire faults,and dual-cylinder misfire faults for different *** collection was facilitated by a highly sensitive acceleration signal collector with a high sampling rate of 20,*** collected data were methodically divided into training and testing sets based on different experimental groups to ensure generalization and prevent overlap between the two *** results revealed that,with a vibration acceleration sequence of 1000 time steps(approximately 50 ms)as input,the SENET model achieved a misfire fault detection accuracy of 99.8%.For comparison,we also trained and tested several commonly used models,including Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM),Transformer,and Multi-Scale Residual Networks(MSRESNET),yielding accuracy rates of 84%,79%,and 95%,*** underscores the superior accuracy of the SENET model in detecting engine misfire faults compared to other ***,the F1 scores for each type of recognition in the SENET model surpassed 0.98,outperforming the baseline *** analysis indicated that the misclassified samples in the LSTM and Transformer models’predictions were primarily due to intra-class misidentifications between single-cylinder and dual-cylinder misfire *** delve deeper,we conducted a visual analysis of the features extracted by the LSTM and SENET models using T-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding(T-SNE)*** findings revealed that,in the LSTMmodel,data points of the same type tended to cluster together with significant ***,in the SENET model,data points of various types were more widely and evenly dispersed,demonstra

Bacterial indole-3-propionic acid inhibits macrophage IL-1β production through targeting methionine metabolism

The gut microbiota plays key roles in host health by shaping the host immune responses through their metabolites, like indole derivatives from tryptophan. However, the direct role of these indole derivatives in macrophage fate decision and the underlying mechanism remains unknown. Here, we found that bacterial indole-3-propionic acid(IPA) downregulates interleukin-1beta(IL-1β) production in M1 macrophages through inhibition of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) signaling. Mechanistically, IPA binds specifically with methionine adenosyltransferase 2A(MAT2A) to promote S-adenosylmethionine(SAM) synthesis, which facilitates the DNA methylation of ubiquitin-specific peptidase 16(USP16, a deubiquitinase), and in turn promotes Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4) ubiquitination and NF-κB inhibition. Furthermore,IPA administration attenuates sepsis in mouse models induced by lipopolysaccharides(LPS), showcasing its potential as a microbial-derived adjunct in alleviating inflammation. Collectively, our findings reveal a newly found microbial metabolite-immune system regulatory pathway mediated by IPA.

On-orbit attitude planning for Earth observation imaging with star-based geometric calibration

To improve the quality of remote sensing images, a novel on-orbit attitude planning method for Earth observation imaging with star-based geometric calibration is presented in this study. Unlike traditional imaging processes, the proposed method includes both pre-calibration and post-calibration stages to enhance the accuracy of satellite geometric positioning. A multiple-constraint attitude planning algorithm was developed to ensure star-based calibration, wherein the satellite camera and star sensors simultaneously capture the images of stars. This integration of cameras and multiple star sensors enables effective attitude determination. During the Earth imaging stage, a fast on-orbit attitude planning algorithm was developed to determine the satellite attitude and the optimal imaging times for ground targets. Compared with existing methods, the fast on-orbit attitude planning algorithm can significantly reduce computational time and resource consumption via initial value selection and *** demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed attitude planning method, which was successfully applied to Wuhan 1satellite.
