Effect of water-driven changes in rice rhizosphere on Cd lability in three soils with different pH

Pot experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of water management,namely continuous flooding(CF),intermittent flooding(IF)and non-flooding(NF),on Cd phytoavailaility in three paddy soils that differed in p H and in Cd concentrations.Diffusive gradients in thin films(DGT)technique was employed to monitor soil labile Cd and Fe concentrations simultaneously at three growth stages(tillering,heading and mature stage)of rice.The Cd phytoavailability were generally in the order of NF>IF>CF,and higher rice Cd(over permitted level,0.2 mg/kg)were only found in neutral and acidic soils under NF conditions.DGT measured soil labile Cd rather than total Cd was the most reliable predictor for Cd accumulation in rice.CF enhanced the formation of root plaques,which related to oxidation of large quantities of available Fe on root surfaces due to the O2 secretion of rice root.The Cd concentration in root plaques shared the same trend with DGT-Cd.Generally,root plaques would inhibit Cd uptake by rice under CF conditions,while under IF and NF conditions,root plaques act as a temporarily store of Cd,and soil labile Cd is the key factor that controls the transfer of Cd from soil to rice.The results of principle component analysis revealed that water management had the greatest effect on soil Cd lability and rice Cd in acidic soil.Thus,it is important to consider the availability of Cd and soil p H when assessing current agricultural practices of contaminated soil in China.

Targeting macrophagic 17β-HSD7 by fenretinide for the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide and macrophage polarization plays an important role in its pathogenesis.However,which molecule regulates macrophage polarization in NAFLD remains unclear.Herein,we showed NAFLD mice exhibited increased 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 7(17β-HSD7)expression in hepatic macrophages concomitantly with elevated M1 polarization.Single-cell RNA sequencing on hepatic non-parenchymal cells isolated from wild-type littermates and macrophage-17β-HSD7 knockout mice fed with high fat diet(HFD)for 6 weeks revealed that lipid metabolism pathways were notably changed.Furthermore,17β-HSD7 deficiency in macrophages attenuated HFD-induced hepatic steatosis,insulin resistance and liver injury.Mechanistically,17β-HSD7 triggered NLRP3 inflammasome activation by increasing free cholesterol content,thereby promoting M1 polarization of macrophages and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines.In addition,to help demonstrate that 17β-HSD7 is a potential drug target for NAFLD,fenretinide was screened out from an FDA-approved drug library based on its 17β-HSD7 dehydrogenase inhibitory activity.Fenretinide dose-dependently abrogated macrophage polarization and pro-inflammatory cytokines production,and subsequently inhibited fat deposition in hepatocytes co-cultured with macrophages.In conclusion,our findings suggest that blockade of 17β-HSD7 signaling by fenretinide would be a drug repurposing strategy for NAFLD treatment.

迁移学习在基于运动想象脑电信号(MI-EEG)的脑机接口(BCI)康复系统中具有潜在的研究价值和应用前景,而源域分类模型及迁移策略是直接影响目标域模型性能与迁移效率的两个重要方面。为此,本文提出一种基于浅层视觉几何组网络(sVGG)的参数迁移学习(PTL)方法(PTL-sVGG)。首先,基于皮尔逊相关系数法对源域受试者进行筛选,并对优选的受试者MI-EEG数据进行短时傅里叶变换,获得时频谱图(TFSI);然后,对视觉几何组网络-16(VGG-16)进行结构简化与模块化设计,并利用源域TFSI完成改进的sVGG模型预训练;进而,设计基于模块的冻结—微调迁移策略,快速寻找并冻结sVGG模型中贡献最大的某个模块,再基于目标受试者TFSI微调其余模块,获得目标域分类模型。基于公开脑电信号(EEG)数据库进行实验研究,PTL-sVGG取得的平均识别率和卡帕(Kappa)值分别为94.9%和0.898。结果表明,源域受试者优选有利于改善源域模型性能,基于模块的迁移策略有效提升了迁移效率,实现了基于不同导联数的数据库跨受试者间模型参数的快速有效迁移。这将有利于减少BCI系统的校准时间,促进BCI技术在康复工程中的应用。

Effects of sterilization treatments on the analysis of TOC in water samples

Decomposition experiments conducted with and without microbial processes are commonly used to study the effects of environmental microorganisms on the degradation of organic pollutants.However,the effects of biological pretreatment （sterilization） on organic matter often have a negative impact on such experiments.Based on the principle of water total organic carbon （TOC） analysis,the effects of physical sterilization treatments on determination of TOC and other water quality parameters were investigated.The results revealed that two conventional physical sterilization treatments,autoclaving and 60 Co γ-radiation sterilization,led to the direct decomposition of some organic pollutants,resulting in remarkable errors in the analysis of TOC in water samples.Furthermore,the extent of the errors varied with the intensity and the duration of sterilization treatments.Accordingly,a novel sterilization method for water samples,0.45 μm micro-filtration coupled with ultraviolet radiation （MCUR）,was developed in the present study.The results indicated that the MCUR method was capable of exerting a high bactericidal effect on the water sample while significantly decreasing the negative impact on the analysis of TOC and other water quality parameters.Before and after sterilization treatments,the relative errors of TOC determination could be controlled to lower than 3% for water samples with different categories and concentrations of organic pollutants by using MCUR.

Mycorrhizal Fungal Effects on Growth,Antioxidant Capacity,and Medicine Quality of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis

A field experiment was conducted to determine the effects of two commercial strains composed of mulple arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)species on plant growth,antioxidant capacity,and medicine quality of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis in three subtropical soils from Wanzhou,Anshun and Baoshan in fields.The results showed that AMF inoculation enhanced the fungal colonization rate and activities of both succinate dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase,thereby,enhancing the mycorrhizal viability of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.The concentrations of photosynthetic pigments(chlorophyll a,b,a+b and carotenoids),soluble sugar,soluble protein and photosynthetic capacity were higher in AMF-inoculated plants than in non-AMF-treated plants in field.AMFtreated plants recorded higher activities of catalase,peroxidase and superoxide dismutase,and caused the reduction in malondialdehyde content,indicating lower oxidative damage,compared with non-AMF plants.Polyphyllin I,Polyphyllin II,Polyphyllin III,Polyphyllin IV and total polyphyllin contents were increased by AMF treatment.In conclusion,AMF improved the plant growth,antioxidant capacity and medicinal quality of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis seedlings.Hereinto,AMF effects on the soil from Wanzhou was relatively greater than on other soils.

This paper concerns the H control for a class of nonlinear networked control systems(NCSs) based on event-triggered T-S fuzzy model.A networked fuzzy systems model is established by introducing the parallel distributed compensation(PDC) technique and T-S fuzzy model.Based on the model,sufficient conditions that guarantee the system achieve asymptotically stable are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) by using Lyapunov-Krasokii function approach.In order to save network resources,the event-triggered mechanism(ETM) strategy is proposed.Then,the state feedback controller is designed.Finally,a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant,in which polyphyllin as the main medicinal component is an important secondary metabolite with bioactivity.Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)have multiple positive effects on plants,while it is not clear whether AMF increase the content of medicinal components in medicinal plants.In this study,a total of nine AMF treatments were laid to analyze the mycorrhizal effect on polyphyllin accumulation and PpHMGR and PpSE expression of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.AMF increased the content of polyphyllin in the cultivated variety with low relation to the increase of inoculation intensity.Polyphyllin I,II,and VII were identified and partly improved by AMF inoculation,dependent on AMF treatments and culture environments.Similarly,the PpHMGR and PpSE expression was induced by mycorrhization,dependent on AMF species,whilst the induction was more obvious in PpSE than in PpHMGR after mycorrhization.It concluded that the symbiotic relationship between P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis and AMF increased polyphyllin content level in the plant,which was associated with the up-regulation of PpSE transcripts.

基于区域规划理论,提出城市景区化导向型城中村概念,建立城市景区化、景区联动、城市面貌、可持续发展环境与城中村演化关系的假设模型。通过调研访谈、问卷调查收集数据,以及案例结合结构方程模型进行假设检验与分析,提出城市景区化导向型城中村规划策略,为旅游城市高质量发展提供参考。研究表明:城市景区化对景区联动、可持续发展环境和城中村演化具有直接正向作用;景区联动和可持续发展环境对城市面貌产生直接正向作用,同时,通过城市面貌对城中村演化产生间接作用。城市景区化实施主体和方式、经济环境、景观建设和景区间产品差异为重要影响因子。建议在通过城市景区化推动旅游城市城中村改造中,重点关注实施主体与方式。

Transfer learning,as a new machine learning methodology,may solve problems in related but different domains by using existing knowledge,and it is often applied to transfer training data from another domain for model training in the case of insuficient training data.In recent years,an increasing number of researchers who engage in brain-computer interface(BCI),have focused on using transfer learning to make most of the available electroencephalogram data from different subjects,effectively reducing the cost of expensive data acquisition and labeling as well as greatly improving the learning performance of the model.This paper surveys the development of transfer learning and reviews the transfer learning approaches in BCI.In addition,according to the"what to transfer"question in transfer learning,this review is organized into three contexts:instance-based transfer learning,parameter-based transfer learning,and feature-based transfer learning.Furthermore,the current transfer learning applications in BCI research are summarized in terms of the transfer learning methods,datasets,evaluation performance,etc.At the end of the paper,the questions to be solved in future research are put forward,laying the foundation for the popularization and in-depth research of transfer learning in BCI.
