Mature osteoclasts degrade bone matrix by exocytosis of active proteases from secretory lysosomes through a ruffled ***,the molecular mechanisms underlying lysosomal trafficking and secretion in osteoclasts remain largely ***,we show with GeneChip analysis that RUN and FYVE domain-containing protein 4(RUFY4)is strongly upregulated during *** lacking Rufy4 exhibited a high trabecular bone mass phenotype with abnormalities in osteoclast function in ***,deleting Rufy4 did not affect osteoclast differentiation,but inhibited bone-resorbing activity due to disruption in the acidic maturation of secondary lysosomes,their trafficking to the membrane,and their secretion of cathepsin K into the extracellular ***,RUFY4 promotes late endosome-lysosome fusion by acting as an adaptor protein between Rab7 on late endosomes and LAMP2 on primary ***,Rufy4-deficient mice were highly protected from lipopolysaccharide-and ovariectomy-induced bone ***,RUFY4 plays as a new regulator in osteoclast activity by mediating endo-lysosomal trafficking and have a potential to be specific target for therapies against bone-loss diseases such as osteoporosis.

Effects of Clay on Properties of Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer and Solutions

The infl uence law of clay on mortar fluidity mixed with polycarboxylate superplasticizer was studied. Several methods of inhibiting clay adsorption of polycarboxylate superplasticizer were discussed. The experimental results show that clay has signifi cant effect on the dispersion of polycarboxylate superplasticizer and montmorillonite clay has more signifi cant impact on mortar fluidity than other clays. The pH value and the salts of the solution can affect the adsorption of clay to polycarboxylate superplasticizer. The incorporation of a small amount of sodium hydroxide solution, sodium silicate or cationic surfactants can improve the effect of the clay on the dispersion of polycarboxylate superplasticizer.

Location privacy protection of maritime mobile terminals

Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)can support various high-reliability and low-delay applications in Maritime Networks(MNs).However,security risks in computing task offloading *** this study,the location privacy leakage risk of Maritime Mobile Terminals(MMTs)is quantified during task offloading and relevant Location Privacy Protection(LPP)schemes of MMT are considered under two kinds of task offloading *** single-MMT and single-time offloading scenario,a dynamic cache and spatial cloaking-based LPP(DS-CLP)algorithm is proposed;and under the multi-MMTs and multi-time offloading scenario,a pseudonym and alterable silent period-based LPP(PA-SLP)strategy is *** results show that the DS-CLP can save the response time and communication cost compared with traditional algorithms while protecting the MMT location ***,extending the alterable silent period,increasing the number of MMTs in the maritime area or improving the pseudonym update probability can enhance the LPP effect of MMTs in ***,the study results can be effectively applied to MNs with poor communication environments and relatively insufficient computing resources.

Numerical Stability and Accuracy of Contact Angle Schemes in Pseudopotential Lattice Boltzmann Model for Simulating Static Wetting and Dynamic Wetting

There are five most widely used contact angle schemes in the pseudopotential lattice Boltzmann(LB)model for simulating the wetting phenomenon:The pseudopotential-based scheme(PB scheme),the improved virtualdensity scheme(IVD scheme),the modified pseudopotential-based scheme with a ghost fluid layer constructed by using the fluid layer density above the wall(MPB-C scheme),the modified pseudopotential-based scheme with a ghost fluid layer constructed by using the weighted average density of surrounding fluid nodes(MPB-W scheme)and the geometric formulation scheme(GF scheme).But the numerical stability and accuracy of the schemes for wetting simulation remain unclear in the *** this paper,the numerical stability and accuracy of these schemes are clarified for the first time,by applying the five widely used contact angle schemes to simulate a two-dimensional(2D)sessile droplet on wall and capillary imbibition in a 2D channel as the examples of static wetting and dynamic wetting simulations respectively.(i)It is shown that the simulated contact angles by the GF scheme are consistent at different density ratios for the same prescribed contact angle,but the simulated contact angles by the PB scheme,IVD scheme,MPB-C scheme and MPB-W scheme change with density ratios for the same fluid-solid interaction *** PB scheme is found to be the most unstable scheme for simulating static wetting at increased density ratios.(ii)Although the spurious velocity increases with the increased liquid/vapor density ratio for all the contact angle schemes,the magnitude of the spurious velocity in the PB scheme,IVD scheme and GF scheme are smaller than that in the MPB-C scheme and MPB-W scheme.(iii)The fluid density variation near the wall in the PB scheme is the most significant,and the variation can be diminished in the IVD scheme,MPB-C scheme *** variation totally disappeared in the GF scheme.(iv)For the simulation of capillary imbibition,the MPB-C scheme,MPB-Wschem

Comparison of Extractive Distillation and Pressure-Swing Distillation for Methanol and Acetonitrile Separation

In the present work,a comparative study of the extractive distillation and pressure swing distillation for methanol-acetonitrile separation is performed for the first *** separation alternatives,including the conventional extractive distillation,the extractive distillation with vapor or liquid side-stream,the pressure-swing distillation with or without full heat integration,and the heat-pump assisted pressure-swing distillation are rigorously simulated and optimized based on the minimum total annual cost(TAC)via the sequential iterative *** results show that TAC and CO2 emission of the new extractive distillation with vapor side-stream(Vapor-SED)are similar to those of the extractive distillation with liquid side-stream(Liquid-SED).Furthermore,the Vapor-SED and Liquid-SED can achieve 30.01%and 30.56%reduction in TAC and 23.32%and 23.49%reduction in CO2 emission,respectively,over the most competitive fully heat-integrated PSD ***,the extractive distillation with vapor or liquid side-stream appears to be a better option economically and environmentally for the separation of methanol and acetonitrile.

Decomposition process of zircon sand concentrate with CaO-NaOH

The decomposition process for zircon sand concentrate using mixed base of sodium hydroxide partly replaced by calcium oxide was *** is found that the decomposition rate of zircon gradually increased with the increase of the reaction temperature and *** decomposition rate is over 97% with the conditions that CaO/zircon molar ratio is 0.25 ～ 0.75 at 800 ℃ for 1 *** the decomposition rate decreased when the molar ratio was more than ***,thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis(TG-DTA) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) were used to study the reaction mechanism of zircon decomposition process with *** results showed that Na_2O,which was generated by the reaction of CaO and Na_4SiO_4,increased the decomposition rate of zircon owing to its spread to the surface of zircon and played a role in decomposition process.

Heat Transfer Performance of Microgroove Back Plate Heat Pipes with Working Fluid and Heating Power

Micro heat pipes(MHP) cooling is one of the most efficient solutions to radiate heat for high heat flux electronic components in data centers. It is necessary to improve heat transfer performance of microgroove back plate heat pipes. This paper discusses about influence on thermal resistance through experiments and numerical simulation with different working fluids, filling ratio and heat power. Thermal resistance of the CO2 filled heat pipe is 14.8% lower than the acetone filled heat pipe. In the meantime, at the best filling ratio of 40%, the CO2 filled heat pipe has the optimal heat transfer behavior with the smallest thermal resistance of 0.123 K/W. The thermal resistance continues to decline but the magnitude of decreases is going to be minor. In addition, this paper illustrates methods about how to enhance heat pipe performance from working fluids, filling ratio and heat power, which provides a theoretical basis for practical applications.

Kaempferol improves glucose uptake in skeletal muscle via an AMPK-dependent mechanism

Insulin resistance is a hallmark of type-2 diabetes(T2D)*** skeletal muscle(SkM)is the major tissue for insulin-mediated glucose disposal,insulin resistance in SkM is considered a major risk factor for developing ***,the identifi cation of compounds that enhance the ability of SkM to take up glucose is a promising strategy for preventing *** previous work showed that kaempferol,a fl avonol present in many foods,improves insulin sensitivity in obese mice,however,the mechanism underlying this beneficial action remains ***,we show that kaempferol directly stimulates glucose uptake and prevents lipotoxicity-impaired glucose uptake in primary human *** stimulates Akt phosphorylation in a time-dependent manner in human SkM *** effect of kaempferol on glucose uptake was blunted by inhibition of glucose transporter 4,phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K),or *** addition,kaempferol induced AMPK phosphorylation,and inhibition of AMPK prevented kaempferol-stimulated Akt *** vivo,kaempferol administration induced rapid glucose disposal accompanied with increased Akt and AMPK phosphorylation in SkM tissue of the *** together,these fi ndings suggest that kaempferol stimulates glucose uptake in SkM via an AMPK/Akt dependent mechanism,and it may be a viable therapeutic agent for insulin resistance.
