Robotics is one area of research in which bio-inspiration is an effective way to design a system by investigating the working principles of nature. Recently, tails have received interest in robotics to increase stability and maneuverability. In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of a static tail for bio-inspired water-running locomotion. The tail was added to increase the stability in the rolling and yawing directions based on the hydrodynamic force from interaction between the tail and the water. The drag coefficient in the interaction is not easy to calculate analytically, so experimental studies were done for various static tail shapes. Five different shapes and compliances in two directions were considered for experimental design candidates. The result was applied to design a stable amphibious robot that can run on ground and water surfaces.

A smartphone-based context-aware augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) was applied was in order to enhance the user's experience by providing simple, adaptive, and intuitive interfaces. Various potential context-aware technologies and AAC usage scenarios were studied, and an efficient communication system was developed by combining smartphone's multimedia functions and its optimized sensor technologies. The experimental results show that context-awareness accuracy is achieved up to 97%.

Bio-inspiration is a starting point from which to design engineering products by learning the secrets of living creatures. We present the design, analysis, and experimental results of a robotic platform inspired by the basilisk lizard, which is well known for its ability to run on water surface. The goal is to develop a robotic platform for amphibious locomotion on ground and water using a single configuration. A tripod gait is achieved with a hexapedal configuration and four-bar-based repeated motion of the legs. The hexapedal configuration is empirically proven to have an advantage in terms of rolling stability on water. On ground, the tripod gait can satisfy the requirements of static stability to make the center of gravity and center of pressure occur at the same position. The footpad design was determined based on an empirical study of the rolling stability and lifting force. The theoretical background and experimental results are presented to validate the ability of the proposed design to run on water and on the ground.

The rapid advancement of AI-enabled applications has resulted in an increasing need for energy-efficient computing ***-in-memory is a promising approach for processing the data stored in memory,wherein fast and efficient computations are possible owing to the parallel execution of reconfigurable logic *** this study,a dual-logic-in-memory device,which can simultaneously perform two logic operations in four states,is demonstrated using van der Waals ferroelectric field-effect transistors(vdW FeFETs).The proposed dual-logic-in-memory device,which also acts as a twobit storage device,is a single bidirectional polarization-integrated ferroelectric field-effect transistor(BPI-FeFET).It is fabricated by integrating an in-plane vdW ferroelectric semiconductor SnS and an out-of-plane vdW ferroelectric gate dielectric material—CuInP_(2)S_(6).Four reliable resistance states with excellent endurance and retention characteristics were *** two-bit storage mechanism in a BPI-FeFET was analyzed from two perspectives:carrier density and carrier injection controls,which originated from the out-of-plane polarization of the gate dielectric and in-plane polarization of the semiconductor,*** conventional multilevel FeFETs,the proposed BPIFeFET does not require additional pre-examination or erasing steps to switch from/to an intermediate polarization,enabling direct switching between the four memory *** utilize the fabricated BPI-FeFET as a dual-logic-inmemory device,two logical operations were selected(XOR and AND),and their parallel execution was *** types of logic operations could be implemented by selecting different initial states,demonstrating various types of functions required for numerous neural network *** flexibility and efficiency of the proposed dual-logic-in-memory device appear promising in the realization of next-generation low-power computing systems.

Design and Implementation of a BPEL Profiling System by Aspect-oriented Programming

Business Process Exeention Language （BPEL） is being used in various applications as the standard of workflow. As the requirerments increase to describe application processes in BPEL, BPEL documentt is getting more Complplicated. Therefore it is difficult to describe applications in BPEL with high reliability. In order to write highly reliable BPEL document, it is necessary to check if the document is working correctly in accordance with user＇s intention. But it is difficult to carry out the test since BPEL engine doesn＇t provide a profiling function. In this paper, we suggest a BPEL system with a real-time profiling function. The suggested system consists of an integrated development environment and a BPEL nunning environment. BPEL integrated development environment has a BPEL to Java（B2J） engine, which generates and executes a Java workflow program from a BPEL document, and a converter, which converts Java Weaving XML （JWX） documents to Aspect-oriented programs. The new functions are described in JWX, which is Extensive Markup Lan-guage （XML）-based document. Since aspect-oriented programming technique provides the way to modularize main and supplemental requirements, it guarantees the low degree of coupling between BPEL workflow program and new functions by weaving them. Our approach can be extended to add other functions to provide context-aware services.

This paper describes a method to extract electrical parameters of the through via in Package-on-Package(PoP)with *** the de-embedding technique electrical parameters of the through via are *** the extracted electrical parameters of the through via,the effects of via height,the distance between signal and GND vias,and anti-pad clearance on the electrical characteristics are discussed.
