D-band center coordination modulated enzyme-like activity in Fe-Cu dual-metal single-atom nanozymes

After explorations in a diversity of single-atom nanozymes(SAzymes),developing dual-centered SAzymes becomes a promising approach for superior catalytic *** confusing mechanisms including atomic coordination,spatial configuration,and metal–metal atom interaction hinder the development and design of ***,a dual-centered Fe-Cu-N_(x)SAzyme exhibits excellent peroxidase(PoD)-and catalase(CAT)-like activities with d-band center(ε_(d))coordination of Fe and Cu in multiple reaction stages,which plays a critical role in the adsorption of H_(2)o_(2)molecule and H_(2)o and o_(2)***,the dband center coordination,which can be represented byε_(d)(Fe)–ε_(d)(Cu)shifts,leads to the competition between one-side and bilateral adsorption,which determines the favorable reaction path with lower energy *** on experimental statistics,simulated formation energies,and reaction barriers,3 configurations,Fe-Cu-N6-I,Fe-Cu-N_(8)-II,and Fe-Cu-N_(8)-III,are modeled and ***,configuration-dependent catalytic selectivity and the competition between one-side and bilateral adsorption can be unveiled by d-band center coordination paradigm *** simulations suggest that the unsymmetrical charge distribution over the three Fe-Cu configurations could tune the adsorption strength compared with the counterparts FeN_(4)and CuN_(4).The present work provides a potential route for optimizing enzyme-like catalysis by designing the dual-or even triple-metal SAzymes,which demonstrates the large space to modulate the metal atomic configuration and interaction.

Nitrogen deposition mediates more stochastic processes in structuring plant community than soil microbial community in the Eurasian steppe

Anthropogenic environmental changes may affect community assembly through mediating both deterministic(e.g.,competitive exclusion and environmental filtering)and stochastic processes(e.g.,birth/death and dispersal/colonization).It is traditionally thought that environmental changes have a larger mediation effect on stochastic processes in structuring soil microbial community than aboveground plant community;however,this hypothesis remains largely *** we report an unexpected pattern that nitrogen(N)deposition has a larger mediation effect on stochastic processes in structuring plant community than soil microbial community(thoseuding archaea,bacteria,fungi,and protists)in the Eurasian *** performed a ten-year nitrogen deposition experiment in a semiarid grassland ecosystem in Inner Mongolia,manipulating nine rates(0–50 g N m^(-2)per year)at two frequencies(nitrogen added twice or 12 times per year)under two grassland management strategies(fencing or mowing).We separated the compositional variation of plant and soil microbial communities caused by each treatment into the deterministic and stochastic components with a recently-developed *** nitrogen addition rate increased,the relative importance of stochastic component of plant community first increased and then decreased,while that of soil microbial community first decreased and then *** the whole,the relative importance of stochastic component was significantly larger in plant community(0.552±0.035;mean±standard error)than in microbial community(0.427±0.035).Consistently,the proportion of compositional variation explained by the deterministic soil and community indices was smaller for plant community(0.172–0.186)than microbial community(0.240–0.767).Meanwhile,as nitrogen addition rate increased,the linkage between plant and microbial community composition first became weaker and then became *** larger stochasticity in plant community relative to microbial

Synchrotron tomography experiments are transitioning into multifunctional,cross-scale,and dynamic characterizations,enabled by new-generation synchrotron light sources and fast developments in beamline ***,with the spatial and temporal resolving power entering a new era,this transition generates vast amounts of data,which imposes a significant burden on the data processing ***,as a highly accurate and efficient data processing method,deep learning shows great potential to address the big data challenge being encountered at future synchrotron *** this review,we discuss recent advances employing deep learning at different stages of the synchrotron tomography data processing *** also highlight how applications in other data-intensive fields,such as medical imaging and electron tomography,can be migrated to synchrotron ***,we provide our thoughts on possible challenges and opportunities as well as the outlook,envisioning selected deep learning methods,curated big models,and customized learning strategies,all through an intelligent scheduling solution.

Secondary water supply systems(SWSSs)are important components of the water supply infrastructure that ensure residents’drinking water *** are characterized by long detention time,warm temperature,and unreasonable management,which may trigger the deterioration of water quality and increase *** this study,drinking water quality index(DWQI)and health risk assessment(HRA)were selected and modified to quantitatively assess the water quality and health risks of SWSSs in residential *** total,121 seasonal water samples were *** was observed that the water quality was excellent with the DWQI of 0.14±0.04,excluding one sample,which was extremely poor owing to its excessive total bacterial *** HRA results revealed that the health risks were low:negligible non-carcinogenic risk for any population;negligible and acceptable carcinogenic risk for children aged 6–17 and ***,samples revealed higher carcinogenic risk(7.63×10−5±3.29×10−6)for children aged 0–5,and arsenic was the major *** samples had poor water quality and higher health risks,which called for *** further investigate the water quality and health risks of SWSSs,monthly sampling was conducted during *** 24 water samples were qualified in Chinese standard(gB 5749-2022)and characterized as excellent *** HRA results were consistent with the seasonal samples’and the health risks were mainly concentrated in ***,our study provides a suitable framework for water quality security,advice for managers,and references for administrators in other cities.

BACKgRouND Jianpi gushen Huayu Decoction(JPgS)has been used to clinically treat diabetic nephropathy(DN)for many ***,the protective mechanism of JPgS in treating DN remains *** To evaluate the therapeutic effects and the possible mechanism of JPgS on *** We first evaluated the therapeutic potential of JPgS on a DN mouse *** then investigated the effect of JPgS on the renal metabolite levels of DN mice using non-targeted ***,we examined the effects of JPgS on c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)/P38-mediated apoptosis and the inflammatory responses mediated by toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/NoD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3).RESuLTS The ameliorative effects of JPgS on DN mice included the alleviation of renal injury and the control of inflammation and oxidative *** metabolomic analysis revealed that JPgS altered the metabolites of the kidneys in DN mice.A total of 51 differential metabolites were *** analysis results indicated that nine pathways significantly changed between the control and model groups,while six pathways significantly altered between the model and JPgS *** related to cysteine and methionine metabolism;alanine,tryptophan metabolism;aspartate and glutamate metabolism;and riboflavin metabolism were identified as the key pathways through which JPgS affects *** experimental validation showed that JPgS treatment reduced the expression of TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 pathways and JNK/P38 pathway-mediated apoptosis related *** JPgS could markedly treat mice with streptozotocin(STZ)-induced DN,which is possibly related to the regulation of several metabolic pathways found in ***,JPgS could improve kidney inflammatory responses and ameliorate kidney injuries in DN mice via the TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway and inhibit JNK/P38 pathwaymediated apoptosis in DN mice.

To solve the problem of risk identification and quantitative assessment for human-computer interaction(HCI)in complex avionics systems,an HCI safety analysis framework based on system-theoretical process analysis(STPA)and cognitive reliability and error analysis method(CREAM)is *** can identify unsafe control actions and find the causal path during the interaction of avionics systems and pilot with the help of formal verification tools *** common performance conditions(CPC)of avionics systems in the aviation environment is established and a quantitative analysis of human failure is carried *** the head-up display(HuD)system interaction process as an example,a case analysis is carried out,the layered safety control structure and formal model of the HuD interaction process are *** the interactive behavior“Pilots approaching with HuD”,four unsafe control actions and35 causal scenarios are identified and the impact of common performance conditions at different levels on the pilot decision model are *** results show that HuD's HCI level gradually improves as the scores of CPC increase,and the quality of crew member cooperation and time sufficiency of the task is the key to its *** case analysis,it is shown that STPACREAM can quantitatively assess the hazards in HCI and identify the key factors that impact safety.

A semi-analytical model for coupled flow in stress-sensitive multi-scale shale reservoirs with fractal characteristics

A large number of nanopores and complex fracture structures in shale reservoirs results in multi-scale flow of oil. With the development of shale oil reservoirs, the permeability of multi-scale media undergoes changes due to stress sensitivity, which plays a crucial role in controlling pressure propagation and oil flow. This paper proposes a multi-scale coupled flow mathematical model of matrix nanopores, induced fractures, and hydraulic fractures. In this model, the micro-scale effects of shale oil flow in fractal nanopores, fractal induced fracture network, and stress sensitivity of multi-scale media are considered. We solved the model iteratively using Pedrosa transform, semi-analytic Segmented Bessel function, Laplace transform. The results of this model exhibit good agreement with the numerical solution and field production data, confirming the high accuracy of the model. As well, the influence of stress sensitivity on permeability, pressure and production is analyzed. It is shown that the permeability and production decrease significantly when induced fractures are weakly supported. Closed induced fractures can inhibit interporosity flow in the stimulated reservoir volume (SRV). It has been shown in sensitivity analysis that hydraulic fractures are beneficial to early production, and induced fractures in SRV are beneficial to middle production. The model can characterize multi-scale flow characteristics of shale oil, providing theoretical guidance for rapid productivity evaluation.
