Electric Pulse Processing(EPP)treatment was innovatively introduced to optimize the strength and ductility of the CSAMed Cu *** results show that EPP is an efficient and fast post-treatment to improve the strength and ductility(within tens of seconds).The larger the pulse current and number of pulses,the better the mechanical ***,this research found that when the heat input determined by pulse current and number of pulses exceeds a certain threshold(pulse current intensity is 2000 A,number of pulses is 10),increasing the number of repeat time could also effectively improve the mechanical properties.A tensile strength of 210 MPa and a ductility of 14.0%could be obtained with reasonable EPP parameters(pulse current intensity is 2000 A,number of pulses is 10,and repeat number is 2),which is similar to those of conventional annealing(e.g.,tensile strength is 272 MPa,elongation is 28.3%).The microstructure evolution analysis shows that EPP can effectively improve the bonding quality between the deposited particles by recrystallization,promote grain growth and the formation of twins,which is the main reason for the improvement of mechanical properties.

Tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA)is a widely used brominated flame *** is evidence showing that TBBPA can exert thyroid disrupting effects in mammals,but different results were also reported,along with inconsistent reports regarding its ***,we investigated thyroid disrupting effects and neurotoxicity of TBBPA(5,50,500μg/(kg·day))to male mice following maternal and direct exposure through drinking water,with the antithyroid drug propylthiouracil(PTU)as the positive *** postnatal day(PND)15,we expectedly observed severe thyroid compensatory hyperplasia and cerebellar developmental retardation in PTU-treated *** highest dose of TBBPA also caused thyroid histological alteration but had no effects on cerebellar development in terms of Purkinje cell morphology and the thickness of the internal granular layer and the molecular layer of the *** puberty and adulthood,the thyroid morphological alterations became more pronounced in the TBBPA-treated animals,accompanied by decreased serum thyroid hormone ***,the 50 and 500μg/(kg·day)TBBPA groups showed a significant decrease in the serum level of serotonin,a neurotransmitter associated with anxiety ***,the highest dose group displayed anxiety-like behaviors in the elevated plus-maze test on PND 35,but this neurobehavioral alteration disappeared on PND ***,no changes in neurobehavioral parameters tested were found in TBBPAtreated animals at puberty and ***,all observations show that TBBPA can exert thyroid disrupting effects but has little overt impact on brain development and neurobehaviors in mice,suggesting that thyroid disruption does not necessarily cause overtly adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is a commonly used additive manufacturing (AM) method for efficiently producing intricate geometric components. This investigation examines factors such as pores, cellular structure, grain size, and inclusions from the manufacturing process that contribute to the corrosion resistance of LPBF DSS. Furthermore, the as-built LPBF duplex stainless steel (DSS) is primarily ferrite due to the rapid cooling process. Therefore, the transformation of ferrite to austenite after various heat treatments in LPBF DSS and its corresponding corrosion resistance are presented. Additionally, a new mixed powder method is proposed to increase the austenite content in the as-built LPBF DSS. This review also focuses on the passivation capability and pitting corrosion performance in LPBF and conventional DSS. This article summarizes the variations in microstructure between as-built and heat-treated LPBF DSS, with their impacts on corrosion resistance, offering insights for manufacturing highly corrosion-resistant LPBF DSS.

Effects of layer interactions on instantaneous stability of finite Stokes flows

The stability analysis of a finite Stokes layer is of practical importance in flow control. In the present work, the instantaneous stability of a finite Stokes layer with layer interactions is studied via a linear stability analysis of the frozen phases of the base flow. The oscillations of two plates can have different velocity amplitudes, initial phases, and frequencies. The effects of the Stokes-layer interactions on the stability when two plates oscillate synchronously are analyzed. The growth rates of two most unstable modes when δ ric, while the other is asymmetric. The Stokes-layer interactions have a destabilizing effect on the most unstable mode when δ lizing effect when δ > 0.68. However, the interactions always have a stabilizing effect on the other unstable mode. It is explained that one of the two unstable modes has much higher dissipation than the other one when the Stokes-layer interactions are strong. We also find that the stability of the Stokes layer is closely related to the inflectional points of the base-flow velocity profile. The effects of inconsistent velocity-amplitude, initial phase, and frequency of the oscillations on the stability are analyzed. The energy of the most unstable eigenvector is mainly distributed near the plate of higher velocity amplitude or higher oscillation frequency. The effects of the initial phase difference are complicated because the base-flow velocity is extremely sensitive to the initial phase.

The cylinder block/valve plate interface is one of the most critical frictional interfaces of the swashplate-type axial piston ***,the poor lubrication interface caused rapid wear and high friction loss in an elastohydrodynamic lubrication system,decreasing the pump *** resistant bronze coatings were fabricated on 38CrMoAl substrate by Physical Vapor Deposition(PVD)and Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD),***-on-disc wear tests were performed to comparatively investigate the wear behaviors of the coatings and bulk ductile iron *** can be found that the PVD-bronze coating exhibited better wear resistance than the other two *** enhanced wear resistance was attributed to the unique composite microstructure and desired mechanical strength,which could resist to mechanical shear and spallation,decreasing friction *** appropriate hardness of(1.33±0.07)GPa could be beneficial for enhancing its wear *** PVD-bronze coating possessed a much lower and stable coefficient of friction(about 0.1)and wear rate(about 6000μm3.N-1.m-1)under the loading forces of about 100 N after 20 *** wear mechanism was the abrasive wear.

Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene(ECTFE)coating was applied to the surface of carbon steel through electrostatic spraying and low-temperature heat *** morphology and structure of the coating were analyzed using various characterization *** electrochemical data of the coated steel soaked in 3.5%(mass fraction)NaCl solution for 90 d at different periods were also *** findings indicate that the outer surface of the coating remains structurally stable before and after soaking.F can diffuse into the steel substrate,facilitating the bonding between the coating and the steel substrate,but the free F also induces a weakening effect on the crystalline *** to the thickness of the coating edge and the susceptibility to infiltration of the corrosive medium,under-film micro-zone corrosion occurs at a slow *** soaking for 90 d,the impedance modulus measures approximately 10^(4)Ω·cm^(2),and the open circuit potential(OCP)is−0.61 *** self-corrosion current density is 1.13×10^(−6)A/cm^(2),resulting in a calculated coating protection rate of 99.29%.In summary,despite edge corrosion occurring,the ECTFE coating provides excellent corrosion protection.

To further improve the performance of binders,a SiHfBCN-based high-temperature resistant adhesive was successfully synthesized by Polymer-Derived Ceramics(PDC)route using TiB2,Polysiloxane(PSO)and short SiC nanowires as *** effect of short SiC nanowires on the adhesive strength at room temperature and high temperature,as well as the reinforcing mechanism was *** with the adhesive without SiC nanowires,after curing(at 170℃)and pyrolysis(at 1000℃)in air,the appropriate adding of SiC nanowires upgrades the room temperature and high temperature(at 1000℃ in air)adhesive strength to(12.50±0.67)MPa(up by about 32%)and(13.11±0.79)MPa(up by about 106%),***,under the synergistic impact of the nanowire bridging,nanowire breaking,nanowire drawing and crack deflection,the optimized adhesive exhibits multi-stage fracture,causing the increscent fracture displacement.

Three-Dimensional(3D)swirling flow structures,generated by a counter-rotating dualstage swirler in a confined chamber with a confinement ratio of 1.53,were experimentally investigated at Re=2.3×10^(5)using Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry(Tomo-PIV)and planar Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV).Based on the analysis of the 3D time-averaged swirling flow structures and 3D Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD)of the Tomo-PIV data,typical coherent flow structures,including the Corner Recirculation Zone(CRZ),Central Recirculation Zone(CTRZ),and lip Recirculation Zone(LRZ),were *** counter-rotating dual-stage swirler with a Venturi flare generates the independence process of vortex breakdown from the main stage and pilot stage,leading to the formation of an LRZ and a smaller CTRZ near the nozzle *** confinement squeezes the CRZ to the corner and causes a reverse rotation flow to limit the shape of the CTRZ.A large-scale flow structure caused by the main stage features an explosive breakup,flapping,and Precessing Vortex Core(PVC).The explosive breakup mode dominates the swirling flow structures owing to the expansion and construction of the main jet,whereas the flapping mode is related to the wake *** limits the expansion of PVC and causes it to contract after the impacting area.
