Based on the elastic theory of cylindrical shells and the theory of composite laminates,a prediction model for the residual prestress of the simplified round composite barrel for railgun is established.Only the fibre pretension is considered in this model.A three dimensional numerical simulation for the residual prestress in the railgun barrel is carried out,by combining the temperature differential method with the element birth and death technology.The results obtained by the two methods are compared.It reveals that the distribution trends of residual prestress are consistent.And the difference for residual prestress in the filament wound composite housing of barrel is relatively small.The same finite element method is used to analysis the residual prestress in the non-simplified composite barrels for railgun,which are under different control modes of winding tension.The results mean that the residual prestress in barrel will increase while the taper coefficient for winding is decreasing.Therefore,the sealing performance in bore is improved,but the strength of the filament wound composite housing drops.In addition,the axial and circumferential residual prestress in the filament wound composite housing with constant torque winding are close to the ones in iso-stress design for barrel.

The electrodynamic behavior of a medium caliber railgun launcher has been studied based on an electromechanical coupling model,which uses a unified modeling method for both electromagnetic and electromechanical field.This model adopts a material equivalent method to simulating the sliding contact behavior for the in-bore armature.An embedded node encoding program during field meshing operation provides good load transfer accuracy between electromagnetic field and mechanical field.Dynamic properties of in-bore magnetic field are firstly simulated and a subsequent dynamic analysis is conducted by mapping element results from electromagnetic analysis step to structure analysis step.The electromechanical-elastic response of the barrel is studied under the excitation current.The numerical model has shown reliability compared to experimental results.

BACKGROUND Postoperative delirium,particularly prevalent in elderly patients after abdominal cancer surgery,presents significant challenges in clinical management.AIM To develop a synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE)-based model for predicting postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal cancer patients.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study,we analyzed data from 611 elderly patients who underwent abdominal malignant tumor surgery at our hospital between September 2020 and October 2022.The incidence of postoperative delirium was recorded for 7 d post-surgery.Patients were divided into delirium and non-delirium groups based on the occurrence of postoperative delirium or not.A multivariate logistic regression model was used to identify risk factors and develop a predictive model for postoperative delirium.The SMOTE technique was applied to enhance the model by oversampling the delirium cases.The model’s predictive accuracy was then validated.RESULTS In our study involving 611 elderly patients with abdominal malignant tumors,multivariate logistic regression analysis identified significant risk factors for postoperative delirium.These included the Charlson comorbidity index,American Society of Anesthesiologists classification,history of cerebrovascular disease,surgical duration,perioperative blood transfusion,and postoperative pain score.The incidence rate of postoperative delirium in our study was 22.91%.The original predictive model(P1)exhibited an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.862.In comparison,the SMOTE-based logistic early warning model(P2),which utilized the SMOTE oversampling algorithm,showed a slightly lower but comparable area under the curve of 0.856,suggesting no significant difference in performance between the two predictive approaches.CONCLUSION This study confirms that the SMOTE-enhanced predictive model for postoperative delirium in elderly abdominal tumor patients shows performance equivalent to that of traditional methods,effectively addressing data imbal

Dendrite growth is a complex liquid-solid phase transition process involving multiple physical factors.A phase-field lattice-Boltzmann method was developed to simulate the two-and three-dimension dendrite growth of Al-Cu alloy.The effect of fully coupled thermal-solute-convection interaction on the dendrite growth was investigated by incorporating a parallel-adaptive mesh refinement algorithm into the numerical model.By accurately reproducing the latent heat release,solute diffusion and convective transport behaviors at the liquidsolid interface,the interaction mechanism among thermal-solute-convection transport as well as their coupling effects on the dendrite growth dynamics were discussed.The simulation results show that the release of latent heat slows down the dendrite growth rate,and both natural and forced convection disrupt the symmetrical growth of dendrites.Their combination makes the growth of dendrites more complex,capturing important physical aspects such as recalescence,dendrite tip splitting,dendrite tilting,dendrite remelting,and solute plume in the simulation case.Based on the robustness and powerful ability of the numerical model,the formation mechanisms of these physical aspects were revealed.

A key factor limiting the development of silicone rubber insulating materials is their short service life in harsh operating environments.The establishment of a self-healing system is desired to improve the long-term operational performance of silicone rubber and effectively extend its service life.In this study,poly(urea-formaldehyde)microcapsules containing polydimethylsiloxane healing agents are prepared and a dual-component microcapsule self-healing system for silicone rubber material is established and opti-mised.In addition,the key factors affecting the self-healing performance(such as microcapsule size,rupture rate,and microcapsule doping amount)are investigated.It is found that when SYLGARDTM 184 is used as the healing agent and matrix,with a 4:6(A:B)doping ratio of dual-component microcapsules and 20 phr doping amount,the self-healing efficiency is approximately 51%.Furthermore,increasing the microcapsule rupture rate and the interface strength between the healing agent and the matrix can effectively improve the self-healing performance.The relationships between key factors and self-healing performance are theoretically revealed.Based on the relationships,the microcapsule self-healing system can be appropriately designed.The results of this paper can provide a reference for the development of long-life silicone rubber insulating materials.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of manual acupuncture on endometrial blood flow parameters by three-dimensional(3D) power Doppler ultrasound in women undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer(IVF-ET). Methods: Seventy patients undergoing IVF-ET were equally randomized into traditional or sham acupuncture treatment group for totally 4 days(from the day of oocyte aspiration to the day of embryo transfer) of treatment by random envelope method at the Reproductive Medicine Center and Outpatient Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medicine College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2013 to December 2015. Patients in the traditional acupuncture group accepted traditional acupuncture methods with manual acupuncture, and Zhongji(CV3), Qihai(CV 6), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Taichong(LR 3), Tianshu(ST 25), Guilai(ST 29) and Zusanli(ST 36) were chosen. Patients at the sham acupuncture group accepted shallow acupuncture methods at 4 non-meridian points at each shoulder and upper arm. Outcome measures included endometrial ultrasonic indices such as vascularization index(VI), flow index(FI) and vascularization flow index(VFI), endometrial thickness and volume, subendometrial VI(sVI), subendometrial FI(sFI), subendometrial VFI(sVFI), implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate, live birth rate and number of live births. Results: Finally, 34 patients in the traditional acupuncture group and 35 in the sham acupuncture group completed this trial. VI, FI and VFI of the traditional acupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the sham acupuncture group(P0.05). BACKGROUND Liver cancer is one of the deadliest malignant tumors worldwide.Immunotherapy has provided hope to patients with advanced liver cancer,but only a small fraction of patients benefit from this treatment due to individual differences.Identifying immune-related gene signatures in liver cancer patients not only aids physicians in cancer diagnosis but also offers personalized treatment strategies,thereby improving patient survival rates.Although several methods have been developed to predict the prognosis and immunotherapeutic efficacy in patients with liver cancer,the impact of cell-cell interactions in the tumor microenvir-onment has not been adequately considered.AIM To identify immune-related gene signals for predicting liver cancer prognosis and immunotherapy efficacy.METHODS Cell grouping and cell-cell communication analysis were performed on single-cell RNA-sequencing data to identify highly active cell groups in immune-related pathways.Highly active immune cells were identified by intersecting the highly active cell groups with B cells and T cells.The significantly differentially expressed genes between highly active immune cells and other cells were subsequently selected as features,and a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression model was constructed to screen for diagnostic-related features.Fourteen genes that were selected more than 5 times in 10 LASSO regression experiments were included in a multivariable Cox regression model.Finally,3 genes(stathmin 1,cofilin 1,and C-C chemokine ligand 5)significantly associated with survival were identified and used to construct an immune-related gene signature.RESULTS The immune-related gene signature composed of stathmin 1,cofilin 1,and C-C chemokine ligand 5 was identified through cell-cell communication.The effectiveness of the identified gene signature was validated based on experi-mental results of predictive immunotherapy response,tumor mutation burden analysis,immune cell infiltration analysis,survival analysis,and expression an

Objective This study investigated the impact of occupational mercury(Hg) exposure on human gene transcription and expression, and its potential biological mechanisms.Methods Differentially expressed genes related to Hg exposure were identified and validated using gene expression microarray analysis and extended validation. Hg-exposed cell models and PTEN lowexpression models were established in vitro using 293T cells. PTEN gene expression was assessed using qRT-PCR, and Western blotting was used to measure PTEN, AKT, and PI3K protein levels. IL-6 expression was determined by ELISA.Results Combined findings from gene expression microarray analysis, bioinformatics, and population expansion validation indicated significant downregulation of the PTEN gene in the high-concentration Hg exposure group. In the Hg-exposed cell model(25 and 10 μmol/L), a significant decrease in PTEN expression was observed, accompanied by a significant increase in PI3K, AKT, and IL-6 expression.Similarly, a low-expression cell model demonstrated that PTEN gene knockdown led to a significant decrease in PTEN protein expression and a substantial increase in PI3K, AKT, and IL-6 levels.Conclusion This is the first study to report that Hg exposure downregulates the PTEN gene, activates the PI3K/AKT regulatory pathway, and increases the expression of inflammatory factors, ultimately resulting in kidney inflammation.
