here we propose a new concept of"molecule aging":with some special treatment,a molecule could be"aged"by losing some unknown tiny particles or pieces from atoms in the molecule,Such"aging"or loss of unknown tiny particles does not change apparently its molecular structure or chemical composition,but some physicochemical properties could be changed *** further confirm such"molecule aging"via a long-term electron attacking to age water(h_(2)O)*** iR spectra show no structural difference between the fresh water and the aged one,while the NMR spectra show that the electron attacking can decrease the size of water *** facts indicate that the electron attacking indeed can"affect"the structure of water molecule slightly but without damaging to its basic molecule *** exploration reveals that the hydrogen evolution reaction(hER)activity of the aged water molecule is lower than the fresh water on the same Pt/C *** density functional theory calculations indicate that the shortened O-h bond in h_(2)O indeed can present lower hER activity,so the observed size decrease of water clusters from NMR probably could be attributed to the shortening of O-h bond in water *** results indicate significantly that the molecule aging can produce materials with new functions for new possible applications.

Stem cell-based therapies have been proposed as a potential treatment for neural regeneration following closed head *** previously reported that induced neural stem cells exert beneficial effects on neural regeneration via cell ***,the neural regeneration efficiency of induced neural stem cells remains *** this study,we explored differentially expressed genes and long non-coding RNAs to clarify the mechanism underlying the neurogenesis of induced neural stem *** found that h19 was the most downregulated neurogenesis-associated lnc RNA in induced neural stem cells compared with.induced pluripotent stem ***,we demonstrated that h19 levels in induced neural stem cells were markedly lower than those in induced pluripotent stem cells and were substantially higher than those in induced neural stem cell-derived *** predicted the target genes of h19 and discovered that h19 directly interacts with mi R-325-3p,which directly interacts with Ctbp2 in induced pluripotent stem cells and induced neural stem *** h19 or Ctbp2 impaired induced neural stem cell proliferation,and mi R-325-3p suppression restored the effect of h19 inhibition but not the effect of Ctbp2 ***,h19 silencing substantially promoted the neural differentiation of induced neural stem cells and did not induce apoptosis of induced neural stem ***,silencing h19 in induced neural stem cell grafts markedly accelerated the neurological recovery of closed head injury *** results reveal that h19 regulates the neurogenesis of induced neural stem cells.h19 inhibition may promote the neural differentiation of induced neural stem cells,which.is closely associated with neurological recovery following closed head injury.

Achieving a high carrier migration efficiency by constructing built-in electric field is one of the promising approaches for promoting photocatalytic activity. herein, we have designed a donor-acceptor(D-A) crystalline carbon nitride(APMCN) with 4-amino-2,6-dihydroxypyrimidine(AP) as electron donor, in which the pyrimidine ring was well embedded in the heptazine ring via hydrogen-bonding effect during hydrothermal process. The APMCN shows superior charge-transfer due to giant built-in electric field(5.94times higher than pristine carbon nitride), thereby exhibiting excellent photocatalytic h_(2) evolution rate(1350 μmol/h) with a high AQY(62.8%) at 400 nm. Mechanistic analysis based on detailed experimental investigation together with theoretical analysis reveals that the excellent photocatalytic activity is attributed to the promoted charge separation by the giant internal electric field originated from the D–A structure.

Sodium gluconate(SG)is reported as an electrolyte additive for rechargeable aqueous zinc *** SG addition is proposed to modulate the nucleation overpotential and plating behaviors of Zn by forming a shielding buffer layer because of the adsorption priority and large steric hindrance effect,which contributes to limited rampant Zn^(2+)diffusion and mitigated hydrogen evolution and *** the introduction of 30 mmol/L SG in 2 mol/L ZnSO_(4)electrolyte,the Zn anode harvests a reversible cycling of 1200 h at 5 mA/cm^(2)and a high average Coulombic efficiency of Zn plating/stripping(99.6%).Full cells coupling Zn anode with V_(2)O_(5)·1.6h_(2)O or polyaniline cathode far surpass the SG additivefree batteries in terms of cycle stability and rate *** work provides an inspiration for design of a high-effective and low-cost electrolyte additive towards Zn-based energy storage devices.

Rh has been widely studied as a catalyst for the promising hydrazine oxidation reaction that can replace oxygen evolution reactions for boosting hydrogen production from hydrazine-containing *** Rh being expensive,only a few studies have examined its electrocatalytic mass ***,surface-limited cation exchange and electrochemical activation processes are designed to remarkably enhance the mass activity of *** atoms were readily replaced at the Ni sites on the surface of NiOOh electrodes by cation exchange,and the resulting RhOOh compounds were activated by the electrochemical reduction *** cation exchange-derived Rh catalysts exhibited particle sizes not exceeding 2 nm without agglomeration,indicating a decrease in the number of inactive inner Rh ***,an improved mass activity of 30 A mg_(Rh)^(-1)was achieved at 0.4 V versus reversible hydrogen ***,the two-electrode system employing the same CE-derived Rh electrodes achieved overall hydrazine splitting over 36 h at a stable low *** proposed surface-limited CE process is an effective method for reducing inactive atoms of expensive noble metal catalysts.

We assessed the global incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs) associated with various liver diseases, including alcohol-related liver disease(ALD), hepatitis B/C virus infections(hBV or hCV), liver cancer, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD), and other chronic liver diseases, from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease study. Additionally, we analyzed the global trends in hepatology research and drug development. From 2000 to 2019, prevalence rates increased for ALD, MASLD and other liver diseases, while they decreased for hBV, hCV, and liver cancer. Countries with a high socio-demographic index(SDi) exhibited the lowest mortality rates and DALYs. The burden of liver diseases varied due to factors like sex and region. in nine representative countries, MASLD,along with hepatobiliary cancer, showed highest increase in funding in hepatology research. Globally, the major research categories in hepatology papers from 2000 to 2019 were cancer, pathobiology, and MASLD. The United States(U.S.) was at the forefront of hepatology research, with China gradually increasing its influence over time. hepatologists worldwide are increasingly focusing on studying the communication between the liver and other organs, while underestimating the research on ALD. Cancer, hCV, and MASLD were the primary diseases targeted for therapeutic development in clinical trials. however, the proportion of new drugs approved for the treatment of liver diseases was relatively low among all newly approved drugs in the U.S., China, Japan, and the European Union. Notably, there were no approved drug for the treatment of ALD in the world.
