Doped two-dimensional(2D)materials hold significant promise for advancing many technologies,such as microelectronics,optoelectronics,and energy ***,n-type 2D oxidized Si nanosheets,namely n-type siloxene(n-SX),are employed as Li-ion battery *** thermal evaporation of sodium hypophosphite at 275℃,P atoms are effectively incorporated into siloxene(SX)without compromising its 2D layered morphology and unique Kautsky-type crystal ***,selective nucleophilic substitution occurs,with only Si atoms being replaced by P atoms in the O_(3)≡Si-H *** resulting n-SX possesses two delocalized electrons arising from the presence of two electron donor types:(i)P atoms residing in Si sites and(ii)H *** doping concentrations are varied by controlling the amount of precursors or their mean free *** at 2000 mA g^(-1),the n-SX electrode with the optimized doping concentration(6.7×10^(19) atoms cm^(-3))delivers a capacity of 594 mAh g^(-1) with a 73%capacity retention after 500 *** improvements originate from the enhanced kinetics of charge transport processes,including electronic conduction,charge transfer,and solid-state *** approach proposed herein offers an unprecedented route for engineering SX anodes to boost Li-ion storage.

Hydrogen production by water reduction reactions has received considerable attention because hydrogen is considered a clean-energy carrier,key for a sustainable energy *** methods have been widely used to study the reaction mechanism of the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),but the calculation results need to be supported by experimental results and direct evidence to confirm the mechanistic *** this review,we discuss the fundamental principles of the in situ spectroscopic strategy and a theoretical model for a mechanistic understanding of the *** addition,we investigate recent studies by in situ Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),Raman spectroscopy,and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS) and cover new findings that occur at the catalyst-electrolyte interface during *** spectroscopic strategies provide practical ways to elucidate catalyst phase,reaction intermediate,catalyst-electrolyte interface,intermediate binding energy,metal valency state,and coordination environment during HER.

This study attempts to develop a reproducible thin-film formation technique called vacuum-free(VF)lamination,which transfers thin films using elastomeric polymer-based laminating ***,by controlling the interface characteristics of the mediator based on the work of adhesion,VF lamination is successfully performed for various thicknesses(from 20 to 240 nm)of a conjugated photoactive material composed of poly[(2,6-(4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylhexyl-3-fluoro)thiophen-2-yl)-benzo[1,2-b:4,5-bʹ]dithiophene))-alt-(5,5-(1ʹ,3ʹ-di-2-thienyl-5ʹ,7ʹ-bis(2-ethylhexyl)benzo[1ʹ,2ʹ-c:4ʹ,5ʹ-cʹ]dithiophene-4,8-dione)](a polymer donor)and 2,2ʹ-((2Z,2ʹZ)-((12,13-bis(2-butyloctyl)-3,9-diundecyl-12,13-dihydro-[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-e]thieno[2ʹʹ,3ʹʹ:4ʹ,5ʹ]thieno[2ʹ,3ʹ:4,5]pyrrolo[3,2-g]thieno[2ʹ,3ʹ:4,5]thieno[3,2-b]indole-2,10-diyl)bis(methanylylidene))bis(5,6-difluoro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-2,1-diylidene))dimalononitrile(a nonfullerene acceptor).Interestingly,the organic photovoltaic and photodetecting applications,prepared by the VF lamination process,showed superior performance compared to those of devices prepared by conventional *** is due to the overturned surface morphology,which led to enhanced charge transport ability and blocking of the externally injected ***,the reproducible VF lamination process,exploiting an adhesion-based elastomeric polymer mediator,is a promising thin-film formation technique for developing efficient next-generation organic optoelectronic materials consistent with the solution process.

The current study aimed to compare the effects of increasing concentrations of dietary threonine(Thr),tryptophan(Trp),and glycine(Gly)on growth performance,stress biomarkers,and intestinal function in broiler chickens under multiple stress *** hundred sixty broiler chickens at 21 d old were randomly allotted to 5 treatments with 8 *** in a positive control(PC)treatment were raised under low stock density(16.9 birds/m2 per cage)with recommended environmental conditions,whereas birds in 4 treatments were subjected to multiple stress conditions:a cyclic heat stress of 30±0.3°C for 10 h and 23±0.2°C for 14 h per day with high stock density(25.3 birds/m2 per cage).A basal diet was assigned to both PC and negative control(NC)*** additional diets were individually formulated to contain double concentrations of digestible Thr,Trp,or Gly+Ser compared with their concentrations in the basal *** experiment lasted for 14 *** showed that NC treatment had less growth performance(P<0.001),jejunal goblet cell counts(P=0.018),and trans-epithelial electrical resistance(TEER;P<0.001),but greater(P=0.026)feather corticosterone(CORT)concentrations than PC *** treatment showed the least(P<0.001)feed conversion ratio(FCR)among treatments under multiple stress ***,Trp,and Gly treatments had less(P=0.026)feather CORT concentrations,but had greater(P<0.001)TEER than NC *** conclusion,increasing concentrations of dietary Thr,Trp,or Gly improve the growth performance and intestinal health in broiler chickens with decreasing stress response under multiple stress conditions.

Clinical outcome in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after living-donor liver transplantation

AIM: To investigate risk factors for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence after living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) and efficacy of various criteria. METHODS: From October 2000 to November 2011, 233 adult patients underwent LDLT for HCC at our institution. After excluding nine postoperative mortality cases, we analyzed retrospectively 224 patients. To identify risk factors for recurrence, we evaluated recurrence, disease-free survival (DFS) rate, survival rate, and various other factors which are based on the characteristics of both the patient and tumor. Additionally, we developed our own criteria based on our data. Next, we compared our selection criteria with various tumor-grading scales, such as the Milan criteria, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) criteria, TNM stage, Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage and Cancer of the Liver Italian Program (CLIP) scoring system. The median follow up was 68 (6-139) ***: In 224 patients who received LDLT for HCC, 37 (16.5%) experienced tumor recurrence during the follow-up period. The 5-year DFS and overall survival rates after LDLT in all patients with HCC were 80.9% and 76.4%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, the tumor diameter {5 cm; P < 0.001; exponentiation of the B coefficient [Exp(B)], 11.89; 95%CI: 3.784-37.368} and alpha fetoprotein level [AFP, 100 ng/mL; P = 0.021; Exp(B), 2.892; 95%CI: 1.172-7.132] had significant influences on HCC recurrence after LDLT. Therefore, these two factors were included in our criteria. Based on these data, we set our selection criteria as a tumor diameter ≤ 5 cm and AFP ≤ 100 ng/mL. Within our new criteria (140/214, 65.4%), the 5-year DFS and overall survival rates were 88.6% and 81.8%, respectively. Our criteria (P = 0.001), Milan criteria (P = 0.009), and UCSF criteria (P = 0.001) showed a significant difference in DFS rate. The growing demand for electric vehicles highlights the need for energy storage solutions with higher densities,spotlighting Li metal anodes as potential successors to traditional Li-ion batteries(LIBs).Achieving longer calendar aging life for Li metal anodes is crucial for their practical use,given their propensity for corrosion due to a low redox potential,which leads to compromised cycling stability and significant capacity loss during *** research investigated that this susceptibility is mainly dependent on the surface area of Li metal anode and the properties of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),particularly its stability and growth *** research adds to this understanding by demonstrating that the amount of Li plating is a key factor in its corrosion during open-circuit storage,as assessed across various *** discovered that increasing the Li plating amount effectively reduces Coulombic efficiency(C.E.)loss during aging,due to a lower surface area-to-Li *** implies that the choice of electrolyte for optimal storage life should consider the amount of Li plating,with higher capacities promoting better storage characteristics.

AIM:To determine the risk factors of biliary intervention using magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography(MRCP) after living donor liver transplantation(LDLT).METHODS: We retrospectively enrolled 196 patients who underwent right lobe LDLT between 2006 and 2010 at a single liver transplantation center. Direct duct-to-duct biliary anastomosis was performed in all 196 patients. MRCP images routinely taken 1 mo after LDLT were analyzed to identify risk factors for biliary intervention during follow-up, such as retrograde cholangiopancreatography or percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage. Two experienced radiologists evaluated the MRCP findings, including the anastomosis site angle on three-dimensional images, the length of the filling defect on maximum intensity projection, bile duct dilatation, biliary stricture, and ***: Eighty-nine patients underwent biliary intervention during follow-up. The anastomosis site angle [hazard ratio(HR) = 0.48; 95% confidence interval(CI), 0.30-0.75, P < 0.001], a filling defect in the anastomosis site(HR = 2.18, 95%CI: 1.41-3.38,P = 0.001), and biliary leakage(HR = 2.52, 95%CI: 1.02-6.20, P = 0.048) on MRCP were identified in the multivariate analysis as significant risk factors for biliary intervention during follow-up. Moreover, a narrower anastomosis site angle(i.e., below the median angle of 113.3°) was associated with earlier biliary intervention(38.5 ± 4.2 mo vs 62. 1 ± 4.1 mo, P < 0.001). Kaplan-Meier analysis comparing biliary intervention-free survival according to the anastomosis site angle revealed that lower survival was associated with a narrower anastomosis site angle(36.3% vs 62.0%, P < 0.001).CONCLUSION: The biliary anastomosis site angle in MRCP after LDLT may be associated with the need for biliary intervention.
