The behavior and mechanism of Li leaching from lithium aluminum silicate glass-ceramics which can be used as a secondary source of Li using aqueous NaOH solution was *** Li leaching efficiency is increased with increasing concentration of NaOH, specific surface area, and reaction *** leached under optimum conditions, 2 mol/L NaOH, 53 μm particle undersize, 1:10 solid/liquid ratio, 250 r/min stirring speed, 100℃ reaction temperature, 12 hr, the Li leaching efficiency was approximately 70%.However, when the leaching experiment was performed for 48 hr, the concentration of Li+ ions contained in the leach liquor decreased from 1160 to 236 mg/*** investigate the origin of this phenomenon, the obtained leach residue was analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray *** analyses show that zeolite was formed around the lithium aluminum silicate glass-ceramics, which affected the leaching of by adsorbing Li+ *** addition, using the shrinking-core model and the Arrhenius equation, the leaching reaction with NaOH was found to depends on the chemical reaction of the two reactants, with a higher than 41.84 kJ/mol of the activation energy.

Background Community water fluoridation is an effective public health strategy for preventing dental caries,*** exist about potential health *** study explores associations between tap water fluoride levels and pediatric disease burden,as well as neurodevelopmental outcomes at 6 years of *** This nationwide population-based cohort study included children born in Korean cities with and without tap water fluoridation projects,between 2006 and 2012,aiming for a fluoride concentration of 0.8±0.2 mg/L in treated tap *** from the National Health Insurance Service were used,spanning from birth to *** relationship between exposure to fluoridated tap water and incidence of 16 childhood diseases that were previously identified as potentially linked to fluoride exposure were ***,we evaluated the neurodevelopmental outcomes across various domains,including gross motor,fine motor,cognition,language,social skills,and self-help *** assessments were performed using data from a comprehensive national health screening program for children aged six *** A fluoride-unexposed group included 22,881 children,whereas a fluoride-exposed group comprised 29,991 children(52%males).Children in the fluoride-exposed group had a decreased risk of dental caries and bone fractures[hazard ratio(95%confidence interval,CI),0.76(0.63–0.93)and 0.89(0.82–0.93),respectively]and increased risk of hepatic failures[1.85,(1.14–2.98)]compared to those in the unexposed ***,the risk ratio of abnormal neurodevelopmental screening outcomes increased by 9%,but this was statistically uncertain(95%CI,0.95–1.26).Conclusions Fluoridated tap water was associated with an increased risk of hepatic failure but a decreased risk of bone fractures in *** association between fluoridated tap water and neurodevelopmental screening outcomes at 6 years remains unclear,highlighting the need for further studies to clarify this associ

Plants possess both types of endosymbiotic organelles, chloroplasts and mitochondria. Transit peptides and presequences function as signal sequences for specific import into chloroplasts and mitochondria, respectively. However, how these highly similar signal sequences confer the protein import specificity remains elusive. Here, we show that mitochondrial- or chloroplast-specific import involves two distinct steps, specificity determination and translocation across envelopes, which are mediated by the N-terminal regions and functionally interchangeable C-terminal regions, respectively, of transit peptides and presequences. A domain harboring multiple-arginine and hydrophobic sequence motifs in the N-terminal regions of presequences was identified as the mitochondrial specificity factor. The presence of this domain and the absence of arginine residues in the N-terminal regions of otherwise common targeting signals confers specificity of protein import into mitochondria and chloroplasts, respectively. AtToc159, a chloroplast import receptor, also contributes to determining chloroplast import specificity. We propose that common ancestral sequences were functionalized into mitochondrial- and chloroplast-specific signal sequences by the presence and absence, respectively, of multiple-arginine and hydrophobic sequence motifs in the N-terminal region.

BACKGROUND Ureteral stent insertion is a relatively non-invasive procedure commonly used in the field of urology to resolve urinary ***,they are sometimes forgotten and the risk of complications increases with *** SUMMARY A 43-year-old woman with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections visited our hospital for evaluation of persistent left flank pain,and lower urinary tract symptoms despite anti-biotic *** had received urological surgery in her teens but did not know the details of her ***,ureter,and bladder X-ray and abdominopelvic computed tomography revealed a forgotten left ureteral stent with huge encrustation at both ends and a severely dilated left kidney with parenchymal *** order to remove the ureteral stent,a laparoscopic nephroureterectomy was *** ureteral stent was successfully removed,and she was discharged after *** patient was followed up for two years after surgery and did not show any signs of long-term *** Long indwelling stents can cause dire complications requiring radical *** registry systems,novel stent material development,and proper patient education is important for complication prevention.

BACKGROUND Adrenal myelolipoma is a rare,benign,non-functioning mass that occurs in the adrenal *** is composed of an admixture of hematopoietic elements and mature adipose tissue,similar to bone *** at large sizes,adrenal myelolipomas are usually asymptomatic and often incidentally found by ultrasonography or computed tomography(CT)*** paper describes an unusual case of adrenal myelolipoma presenting as flank *** SUMMARY A 50-year-old male with severe right flank pain underwent a CT scan revealing a huge mass extending into the suprarenal *** mass showed a fat component with retroperitoneal *** tumor was treated laparoscopically,and pathologic examination revealed features of myelolipoma originating from the adrenal *** Adrenal myelolipomas are generally asymptomatic and can be treated ***,rupture and hemorrhage of the tumor can cause symptoms requiring surgical removal.

AIM： To evaluate the prevalence and predictive factors of osteoporosis in patients with gastric adenocarcinoma alter gastrectomy.METHODS： The study included 133 patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma but who did not undergo prior diagnostic work-up for osteoporosis. Bone mineral density （BMD） was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry （DXA） and vertebral deformity was assessed by plain X-rays. We evaluated the effects of age, sex, body mass index （BMI）, anemia, back pain, vertebral deformity, tumor staging, reconstruction type, and past medical history to determine predictive factors of osteoporosis in these patients.RESULTS： The prevalence of osteoporosis in the lumbar spine was 38.3% （male, 28.9%; female, 54.0%）, and 15.0% in the femoral neck （male, 10.8%; female, 22.0%）. The vertebral deformity rate was 46.6% （male, 43.4%; female, 52.0%）. Age, BMI and hemoglobin correlated with BMD （P 〈 0.01）. In males, anemia and age 〉 64 years were independent predictive factors of osteoporosis in multivariate analysis. In females, back pain was an independent factor for osteoporosis.CONCLUSION： The results of this study revealed that prevalence of osteoporosis and vertebral bone deformity rate were high in gastric cancer patients, regardless of post-gastrectomy duration and operation type. Early diagnosis and a proper management plan must be established in these patients.

The effect of potassium pyrophosphate in the electrolyte on plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) process for AZ91 Mg alloy was *** morphologies and chemical compositions of the coating layer on the AZ91 Mg alloy were evaluated and corrosion resistance was also estimated by potentiodynamic polarization *** coating layer on AZ91 Mg alloy coated from the Bath 2 containing 0.03 mol/L of potassium pyrophosphate for 360 s exhibited considerably dense structure and contained 11%-18%(mass fraction) of *** higher content of phosphorous of coating layer coated from Bath 2 could be detected at the bottom of oxide layer,which strongly implied that the phosphorous ion might be concentrated at the barrier *** potential of coating layer of AZ91 Mg alloy increased and corrosion current density decreased with increasing the concentration of potassium *** polarization resistance(Rp) of coating layer of AZ91 Mg alloy coated from Bath 2 was 4.65×107 Ω/cm2,which was higher than that(Rp=3.56×104 Ω/cm2) of the sample coated from electrolyte without potassium *** coating layer coated from Bath 2 containing 0.03 mol/L potassium pyrophosphate exhibited the best corrosion resistance.

The application of a closed-loop specification oriented feedback control design method, which addresses the design of controllers to satisfy multiple simultaneous conflicting closed-loop performance specifications is presented. The proposed approach is well suited to the design of controllers which must meet a set of conflicting performance specifications. Gain tuning is central to the design process, however, the tuning process is greatly simplified over that presented by the problem of tuning a PID controller for example. The proposed control method is applied to an AC induction motor, with an inner-loop flux vector controller applied to design a position control system. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of this method.

Flavonols are the major class of flavonoids of green Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ***).The *** genome harbors seven flavonol synthase genes(BrFLSs),but they have not been functionally ***,transcriptome analysis showed four BrFLSs mainly expressed in Chinese *** them,only BrFLS1 showed major FLS activity and additional flavanone 3β-hydroxylase(F3H)activity,while BrFLS2 and BrFLS3.1 exhibited only marginal F3H *** generated BrFLS1-knockout(BrFLS1-KO)Chinese cabbages using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing and obtained transgene-free homozygous plants without off-target mutation in the T1 generation,which were further advanced to the T2 generation showing normal ***-ESI-QTOF-MS analysis revealed that flavonol glycosides were dramatically decreased in the T2 plants,while dihydroflavonol glycosides accumulated concomitantly to levels corresponding to the reduced levels of *** PCR analysis revealed that the early steps of phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic pathway were upregulated in the BrFLS1-KO *** accordance,total phenolic contents were slightly enhanced in the BrFLS1-KO plants,which suggests a negative role of flavonols in phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis in Chinese *** surveys revealed that the BrFLS1-KO Chinese cabbages showed normal head formation and reproductive phenotypes,but subtle morphological changes in their heads were *** addition,their seedlings were susceptible to osmotic stress compared to the controls,suggesting that flavonols play a positive role for osmotic stress tolerance in *** *** this study,we showed that CRISPR/Cas9-mediated BrFLS1-KO successfully generated a valuable breeding resource of Chinese cabbage with distinctive metabolic traits and that CRISPR/Cas9 can be efficiently applied in functional Chinese cabbage breeding.
