The incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and alcohol-associated liver disease(ALD)is increasing year by year due to changes in the contemporary environment and dietary structure,and is an important public health problem *** is an urgent need to continuously improve the understanding of their disease mechanisms and develop novel therapeutic *** stem cells(MSCs)have shown promise as a potential therapeutic strategy in therapeutic studies of NAFLD and *** and ALD have different triggers and their specific mechanisms of disease progression are different,but both involve disease processes such as hepatocellular steatosis and potential fibrosis,cirrhosis,and even hepatocellular *** have metabolic regulatory,anti-apoptotic,antioxidant,and immunomodulatory effects that together promote liver injury repair and functional recovery,and have demonstrated positive results in preclinical *** editorial is a continuum of Jiang et al’s review focusing on the advantages and limitations of MSCs and their derivatives as therapeutics for NAFLD and *** detail how MSCs attenuate the progression of NAFLD by modulating molecular pathways involved in glucolipid metabolism,inflammation,oxidative stress,endoplasmic reticulum stress,and *** on recent advances,we discuss MSCs and their derivatives as therapeutic strategies for NAFLD and ALD,providing useful information for their clinical application.

The rapid deactivation of cost-effective MnO_(2)-based catalysts in humid air limits their application in practice,and the identification of the role of water in an oxidation process is significant for developing water-resistant MnO_(2)-based ***,CuMnO_(2)showed a20.3%HCHO conversion in 10 hr at room temperature in humid air with relative humidity of 40%,but deactivated in 3 hr in dry *** excellent activity and stability of HCHO oxidation in humid air were attributed to the positive effect of H_(2)O on HCHO oxidation to the H_(2)O-HOCH_(2)OH supermolecule assemblies via hydrogen bonds formed on CuMnO_(2).H_(2)O-HOCH_(2)OH supermolecule assemblies tend to be oxidized to carbonate,which is further oxidized to CO_(2).Furthermore,CuMnO_(2)exhibited a much poorer activity of CO oxidation in humid air,but the CO conversion was still 100%in 10 hr in dry air.H_(2)O showed a competitive adsorption effect to CO on CuMnO_(2).CuMnO_(2)could be applied in HCHO elimination in humid air and CO elimination in dry air.

Identification of the ice channel is the basic technology for developing intelligent ships in ice-covered waters,which is important to ensure the safety and economy of *** the Arctic,merchant ships with low ice class often navigate in channels opened up by *** in the ice channel often depends on good maneuverability skills and abundant experience from the captain to a large *** ship may get stuck if steered into ice fields off the *** this circumstance,it is very important to study how to identify the boundary lines of ice channels with a reliable *** this paper,a two-staged ice channel identification method is developed based on image segmentation and corner point *** first stage employs the image segmentation method to extract channel *** the second stage,an intelligent corner regression network is proposed to extract the channel boundary lines from the channel region.A non-intelligent angle-based filtering and clustering method is proposed and compared with corner point regression *** training and evaluation of the segmentation method and corner regression network are carried out on the synthetic and real ice channel *** evaluation results show that the accuracy of the method using the corner point regression network in the second stage is achieved as high as 73.33%on the synthetic ice channel dataset and 70.66%on the real ice channel dataset,and the processing speed can reach up to 14.58frames per second.

Glioma is a common tumor originating in the brain that has a high mortality ***(TMZ)is the first-line treatment for high-grade ***,a large pro-portion of gliomas are resistant to TMZ,posing a great challenge to their *** the study,the specific functions and mechanism(s)by which cortistatin(CORT)regulates TMZ resis-tance and glioma progression were *** decreased expression of CoRT was detected in glioma tissues,and highly expressed CORT was associated with a better survival rate in pa-tients with *** overexpression notably decreased the capacity of glioma cells to pro-liferate and migrate in vitro and to form tumors in *** overexpression also markedly suppressed the viability and enhanced the apoptosis of TMZ-resistant U251 cells by regulating MGMT,p21,and Puma ***,CORT overexpression reduced the resistance of gliomas to TMZ in *** expression Was negatively correlated with MGMT expression in both glioma tissues and cells,and it was found that CORT inhibited NF-kB pathway activation in glioma cells,thereby inhibiting MGMT *** conclusion,CORT regulates glioma cell growth,migration,apoptosis,and TMZ resistance by weakening the activity of NF-kB/p65 and thereby regulating MGMT *** CORT/NF-kB/MGMT axis might be regarded as a molecular mechanism contributing to the resistance of glioma to *** data also suggest that CORT regulates the viability and metastatic potential of glioma cells,independent of its effects on TMZ resistance,providing evidence of novel therapeutic targets for glioma that should be evaluated infurther studies.

In gas fluidization processes involving different types of particles,the mixing or segregation behavior of the solid mixture is crucial to the overall outcome of the *** study develops a model to predict the segregation directions of binary mixtures of Geldart B particles with density and size differences in bubbling fluidized *** proposed model was established by combining the particle segregation model,a previous particle segregation model,with a derived bed voidage equation of the bubbling fluidization based on the two-phase *** model was then analyzed with different function graphs of the model equations under various *** results indicated that an increase in gas velocity or volume fraction of larger particles would strengthen size segregation,causing the larger and less dense components to *** validate the model,42 sets of data collected from 6 independent literature sources were compared with the predictions of the *** the gas velocities were below 3.2 times the minimum gas velocity,the predictions were consistent with experimental *** study has shed new light on the mechanisms of particle segregation in binary fluidized systems and provides a theoretical foundation for designing and manipulating gas-solid fluidized reactors.
