Impurity formation mechanism of silicon carbide crystals smelted by Acheson process

In order to further promote the application of SiC refractories in modern steel metallurgy,the occurrence forms and formation mechanism of impurities in SiC crystals smelted by Acheson process were *** techniques of inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy were combined to examine the types and occurrence forms of impurities in smelted SiC *** results showed that the main impurities in the SiC are free Si,free C,oxides(CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),CaO·SiO_(2) and SiO_(2))and alloy phases(Fe_(x)Si_(y),Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) and Fe_(x)Al_(y)Si_(z)).The formation process of impurities during the smelting of SiC can be described as follows:At high temperature,the SiO_(2) and Fe,Ti related oxide impurities present in the raw materials are reduced to Si,Fe,and Ti metal *** the reduction process,the free Si,Fe_(x)Si_(y) and Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) are precipitated from the melt during *** Si primarily exists in aggregated form within the SiC crystal,while the alloy phase is predominantly found at the interface between SiC and free Si,with Fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) embedded within *** the end of the cooling process,other impurity oxides such as Al_(2)O_(3),CaO,and some unreduced SiO_(2) solidify to form calcium-aluminum-silicate glass phases,predominantly located between SiC *** remaining C from the reaction is mainly dispersed as free C within the SiC crystal and at the interface between SiC and free Si.

Ambarzumyan's Theorem for the Dirac Operator on Equilateral Tree Graphs

The classical Ambarzumyan’s theorem states that if the Neumann eigenvalues of the Sturm-Liouville operator-d^(2)/dx^(2)+q with an integrable real-valued potential q on[0,π] are {n^(2):n≥0},then q=0 for almost all x∈[0,π].In this work,the classical Ambarzumyan’s theorem is extended to the Dirac operator on equilateral tree *** prove that if the spectrum of the Dirac operator on graphs coincides with the unperturbed case,then the potential is identically zero.

FeNi Prussian blue analogues on highly graphitized carbon nanosheets as efficient glucose sensors

Meeting the continuous glucose monitoring requirements of individuals necessitates the research and development of sensors with high sensitivity and *** this study,a straightforward strategy was proposed for synthesizing ultra-thin oxygen-rich graphitized carbon nanosheets(denoted as GCS-O).These nanosheets are obtained by calcining a topologically two-dimensional indium-based coordination ***,the growth of FeNi Prussian blue analogue(PBA)on GCS-O effectively introduces active sites and increases the nitrogen content within the carbonaceous *** resulting FeNi-PBA/GCS-O composite exhibits excellent glucose sensing performance with a broad linear range of 1 to 1300μmol·L^(-1).Meanwhile,it also achieves a high sensitivity of 2496μA·mmol^(-1)·L·cm^(-2),a limit of detection of 100nmol·L^(-1)(S/N=3),and commendable long-term *** relatively simple synthesis process,exceptional sensitivity,and satisfactory electrochemical sensing performance of FeNi-PBA/GCS-O open up new directions for biosensor applications.

Characteristics and stability of oxide+carbonitride in H13 steel at 1250℃

The morphology,size,quantity,and composition of complex oxide+carbonitride in H13 steel held at 1250℃for 5,10,and 15 h were *** results show that the ratio and number of complex carbonitrides with cores in H13 steel are gradually increased when holding at 1250℃compared with those in the original H13 steel,and the core size *** are one or more oxide cores in(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,N_(1-y)),including xCaO·zAl_(2)O_(3),xCaO·yMgO·zAl_(2)O_(3),and CaO after holding at 1250℃,in addition to MgO·Al_(2)O_(3)and Al_(2)O_(3)in the original *** equilibrium temperature for(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,N_(1-y))precipitation at the solidification front and decomposition in the solid state was theoretically analyzed,which was affected by the x value and the product of Ti and N contents in H13 ***,the composition of(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,N_(1-y))is influenced by the oxide *** is convinced that(Ti_(x),V_(1-x))(Cy,N_(1-y))with oxide cores has a higher stability,especially for oxides with a high Al_(2)O_(3)*** treatment at high temperature facilitates a more reasonable analysis of oxide+carbonitride,and the generation mechanism of oxide+carbonitride was discussed.

A visual modeling method for spatiotemporal and multidimensional features in epidemiological analysis:Applied COVID-19 aggregated datasets

The visual modeling method enables flexible interactions with rich graphical depictions of data and supports the exploration of the complexities of epidemiological ***,most epidemiology visualizations do not support the combined analysis of objective factors that might influence the transmission situation,resulting in a lack of quantitative and qualitative *** address this issue,we developed a portrait-based visual modeling method called+*** method considers the spatiotemporal features of virus transmission patterns and multidimensional features of objective risk factors in communities,enabling portrait-based exploration and comparison in epidemiological *** applied+msRNAer to aggregate COVID-19-related datasets in New South Wales,Australia,combining COVID-19 case number trends,geo-information,intervention events,and expert-supervised risk factors extracted from local government area-based *** perfected the+msRNAer workflow with collaborative views and evaluated its feasibility,effectiveness,and usefulness through one user study and three subject-driven case *** feedback from experts indicates that+msRNAer provides a general understanding for analyzing comprehension that not only compares relationships between cases in time-varying and risk factors through portraits but also supports navigation in fundamental geographical,timeline,and other factor *** adopting interactions,experts discovered functional and practical implications for potential patterns of long-standing community factors regarding the vulnerability faced by the *** confirmed that+msRNAer is expected to deliver visual modeling benefits with spatiotemporal and multidimensional features in other epidemiological analysis scenarios.

Hydrogen-rich surface of MoC catalysts for efficient CO_(2) hydrogenation induced by a coupled hydrogen donator

Direct CO_(2) hydrogenation offers an important strategy for promoting the global carbon balance,but high thermodynamic and kinetic stability of CO_(2) has restricted its applicability to only a handful of industrial ***,we introduce a proof-of-concept application of the electron-rich Pt surface to promote hydrogen donation for electron-rich MoC particles acting as hydrogen acceptors,thereby constructing hydrogen-rich surface of MoC active ***,the formed hydrogen-rich and electronrich surface could greatly decrease reaction activation energy to boost the efficient CO_(2) hydrogenation into formic acid over the MoC *** optimized MoC@NC/Pt-0.1(NC:nitrogen-doped carbon)catalyst exhibits a high turnover frequency(TOF)value of 1.2 h^(−1) at a lower temperature of 60℃and a TOF of 24.2 h^(−1) under standard reaction conditions widely used in the literature,exceeding 7 times of MoC@NC catalyst and surpassing the benchmark classical non-noble metal active center-based heterogeneous catalyst.

A modern survey method for determining live loads based on multi-source and open-access data on the Internet

Sufficient survey data are required to describe the stochastic behaviors of live ***,due to manual and on-site operation required by traditional survey methods,traditional surveys face challenges like occupant resistance,high costs,and long implementation *** study proposes a new survey method to access live load data online and *** samples are acquired from multi-source,open-access and dynamically updated data on the *** change intervals,geometrical dimensions and object quantities are obtained from transaction information,building attributes and virtual reality models on real estate websites,*** object weights are collected from commodity information on e-commerce *** integration of the aforementioned data allows for the extraction of necessary statistics to describe a live load *** proposed method is applied to a live load survey in China,covering 20040 m^(2),with around 90000 samples acquired for object weights and load *** survey results reveal that about 70%−80%of the amplitude statistics are attributable to 1/6 of the total object types.

Supercapacitors(SCs)have become increasingly important in electrical energy storage and delivery owing to their high power densities and long *** SCs are promising for large-scale engineering applications because of their low cost and ***,the low operating voltage and low energy density of aqueous SCs severely limit their practical *** this study,a nanoscale dielectric layer is grafted onto a graphene electrode to achieve both a high operating voltage and enhanced *** with an SC without dielectric grafting,a dielectric-enhanced SC(DESC)shows a higher capacitance by 2200%.The mechanism of the capacitance enhancement can be attributed to three factors:the dielectric polarization,the ions desolvation by the dielectric,and the enhanced quantum capacitance from charge transfer and ion adsorption in the polymer *** addition,a 2.5 V pouch DESC with a 1 M KCl electrolyte is confirmed to cycle up to 50,000 times with a capacitance retention of 87.5%.The DESC presents the optimal electrochemical properties after it is grafted with a 5 nm dielectric *** study provides new insights into the design of high-voltage and high-energy-density aqueous SCs.

Through carrying out the high-temperature tensile experiments on an as-extruded Mg-11wt%Y alloy at 350℃,400℃,450℃,500℃and 550℃,the mechanical behavior and fracture mechanisms at elevated temperatures are investigated and *** results show that with the increase of temperature,the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the alloy increase at first and then decrease,while that the elongation ratio decreases firstly and then *** the sample being tested at 350℃,the values of yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and the elongation ratio are 188 MPa,266 MPa and 11%,*** 400℃,the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength reach the maximum values of,respectively,198 MPa and 277 MPa,but the elongation ratio is the lowest and its value is only 8%.When the applied temperature is increased to 550℃,the values of yield strength and ultimate tensile strength,respectively,decrease to 140 MPa and 192 MPa and the elongation ratio increases to 38%.Failure analysis demonstrates that the fracture surfaces of different samples are mainly composed of plastic dimples and exhibit the typical characteristic of ductile *** observation to the fracture side surfaces indicates that at the temperatures of 350℃and 400℃,microcracks mainly initiate in the interior of Mg_(24)Y_(5)*** the temperatures are 450℃,500℃and 550℃,the cracks preferentially initiate at the Mg_(24)Y_(5)/α-Mg interfaces.

Precise responses to changes in light quality are crucial for plant growth and *** example,hypocotyls of shade-avoiding plants typically elongate under shade *** this typical shade-avoidance response(TSR)has been studied in Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana),the molecular mechanisms underlying shade tolerance are poorly *** we report that ***(Brassica napus)seedlings exhibit dual shade *** addition to the TSR,*** seedlings also display an atypical shade response(ASR),with shorter hypocotyls upon perception of early-shade ***-wide selective sweep analysis indicated that ASR is associated with light and auxin ***,genetic studies demonstrated that phytochrome A(BnphyA)promotes ASR,whereas BnphyB inhibits *** ASR,YUCCA8 expression is activated by early-shade cues,leading to increased auxin *** inhibits hypocotyl elongation,as young *** seedlings are highly sensitive to ***,two non-canonical AUXIN/INDOLE-3-ACETIC ACID(Aux/IAA)repressor genes,BnIAA32 and BnIAA34,are expressed during this early ***32 and BnIAA34 inhibit hypocotyl elongation under shade conditions,and mutations in BnIAA32 and BnIAA34 suppress ***,our study demonstrates that the temporal expression of BnIAA32 and BnIAA34 determines the behavior of *** seedlings following shade-induced auxin biosynthesis.
