Flammable carbon nanotube transistors on a nitrocellulose paper substrate for transient electronics

Transient electronics represent an emerging class of technology comprising materials that can vanish in a controlled manner in response to stimuli. In contrast to conventional electronic devices that are designed to operate over the longest possible period, transient electronics are defined by operation typically over a short and well-defined period; when no longer needed, transient electronics undergo self-deconstruction and disappear completely. In this work, we demonstrate the fabrication of thermally triggered transient electronic devices based on a paper substrate, specifically, a nitrocellulose paper. Nitrocellulose paper is frequently used in acts of magic because it consists of highly flammable components that are formed by nitratil^g cellulose by exposure to nitric acid. Therefore, a complete and rapid destruction of electronic devices fabricated on nitrocellulose paper is possible without producing any residue （i.e., ash）. The transience rates can be modified by controlling radio frequency signal-induced voltages that are applied to a silver （Ag） resistive heater, which is stamped on the backside of the nitrocellulose paper. The Ag resistive heater was prepared by a simple, low-cost stamping fabrication, which requires no harsh chemicals or complex thermal treatments. For the electronics on the nitrocellulose paper substrate, we employed semiconducting carbon nanotube （CNT） network channels in the transistor for superior electrical and mechanical properties.

With the continuous increase in the disposal volume of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),properly recycling spent LIBs has become essential for the advancement of the circular *** study presents a systematic analysis of the chlorination roasting kinetics and proposes a new two-step chlorination roasting process that integrates thermodynamics for the recycling of LIB cathode *** activation energy for the chloride reaction was 88.41 kJ/mol according to thermogravimetric analysis–derivative thermogravimetry data obtained by using model-free,model-fitting,and Z(α)function(αis conversion rate).Results indicated that the reaction was dominated by the first-order(F1)model when the conversion rate was less than or equal to 0.5 and shifted to the second-order(F2)model when the conversion rate exceeded *** conditions were determined by thoroughly investigating the effects of roasting temperature,roasting time,and the mass ratio of NH_(4)Cl to LiCoO_(2).Under the optimal conditions,namely 400℃,20 min,and NH_(4)Cl/LiCoO_(2)mass ratio of 3:1,the leaching efficiency of Li and Co reached 99.43% and 99.05%,*** of the roasted products revealed that valuable metals in LiCoO_(2)transformed into CoCl_(2) and ***,the reaction mechanism was elucidated,providing insights for the establishment of a novel low-temperature chlorination roasting technology based on a crystal structure *** technology can guide the development of LIB recycling processes with low energy consumption,low secondary pollution,high recovery efficiency,and high added value.

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) provide an appealing sustainable energy system,with the solid-electrolyte membrane playing a crucial role in its overall ***,sulfonated poly(1,4-phenylene ether-ether sulfone)(SPEES),an aromatic hydrocarbon polymer,has garnered considerable attention as an alternative to Nafion ***,the long-term durability and stability of SPEES present a significant *** this context,we introduce a potential solution in the form of an additive,specifically a core–shell-based amine-functionalized iron titanate (A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)),which holds promise for improving the lifetime,proton conductivity,and power density of SPEES in *** modified SPEES/A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)composite membranes exhibited notable characteristics,including high water uptake,enhanced thermomechanical stability,and oxidative ***,the SPEES membrane loaded with 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)demonstrates a maximum proton conductivity of 155 mS ccm^(-1),a twofold increase compared to the SPEES membrane,at 80°C under 100%relative humidity (RH).Furthermore,the 1.2 wt%of A–Fe_(2)TiO_(5)/SPEES composite membranes exhibited a maximum power density of 397.37 mW cm^(-2)and a current density of 1148 mA cm^(-2)at 60°C under 100%RH,with an opencircuit voltage decay of 0.05 m V/h during 103 h of continuous *** study offers significant insights into the development and understanding of innovative SPEES nanocomposite membranes for PEMFC applications.

In this paper,we investigate a decentralized diagnosis problem of a discrete-evnt system(DES) subject to unreliable sensors,where the sensor observations of local diagnosers may be non-deterministic as a result of possible *** studies on decentralized robust diagnosis can only deal with different types of sensor failures separately,e.g.,all sensors suffer from the same type of sensor failures such as intermittent sensor failures or permanent sensor ***,since sensors of different local diagnosers may face different external environments and have different internal characteristics,sensors corresponding to different local diagnosers may also have their own fault *** this paper,we propose a flexible framework of decentralized diagnosis for DES subject to unreliable sensors such that sensors of different local diagnosers are permitted to have different types of sensor *** this end,we extend the existing decentralized diagnosis framework to the case where there exist common sensors broadcasting their observations to all local *** apply linear temporal logic(LTL) to constrain infinite behaviors of private sensors of local diagnosers and common ***,a new notion of φ-codiagnosability is proposed as the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a decentralized diagnoser that works correctly under sensors,satisfying LTL-based sensor ***,we provide an effective approach to verify the φ-codiagnosability.

The complex wiring,bulky data collection devices,and difficulty in fast and on-site data interpretation significantly limit the practical application of flexible strain sensors as wearable *** tackle these challenges,this work develops an artificial intelligenceassisted,wireless,flexible,and wearable mechanoluminescent strain sensor system(AIFWMLS)by integration of deep learning neural network-based color data processing system(CDPS)with a sandwich-structured flexible mechanoluminescent sensor(SFLC)*** SFLC film shows remarkable and robust mechanoluminescent performance with a simple structure for easy *** CDPS system can rapidly and accurately extract and interpret the color of the SFLC film to strain values with auto-correction of errors caused by the varying color temperature,which significantly improves the accuracy of the predicted strain.A smart glove mechanoluminescent sensor system demonstrates the great potential of the AIFWMLS system in human gesture ***,the versatile SFLC film can also serve as a encryption *** integration of deep learning neural network-based artificial intelligence and SFLC film provides a promising strategy to break the“color to strain value”bottleneck that hinders the practical application of flexible colorimetric strain sensors,which could promote the development of wearable and flexible strain sensors from laboratory research to consumer markets.

A mixed oxidant of chlorine dioxide(ClO_(2))and NaClO was often used in water treatment.A novel UVA-LED(_(365) nm)-activated mixed ClO_(2)/NaClO process was proposed for the degradation of micropollutants in this ***(CBZ)was selected as the target *** with the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2) process,the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process can improve the degradation of CBZ,with the rate constant increasing from 2.11×10^(−4) sec^(−1) to 2.74×10^(−4) sec^(−1).In addition,the consumption of oxidants in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process(73.67%)can also be lower than that of UVA_(365)/NaClO(86.42%).When the NaClO ratio increased,both the degradation efficiency of CBZ and the consumption of oxidants can increase in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO *** solution pH can affect the contribution of NaClO in the total oxidant *** the pH range of 6.0-8.0,the combination process can generate more active species to promote the degradation of *** change of active species with oxidant molar ratio was investigated in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO *** ClO_(2) acted as the main oxidant,HO·and Cl·were the main active species,while when NaClO was the main oxidant,ClO·played a role in the *** chloride ion(Cl^(-)),bicarbonate ion(HCO_(3)^(-)),and nitrate ion(NO_(3)^(-))can promote the reaction *** the concentration of NaClO in the reaction solution increased,the generation of chlorates will *** UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process can effectively control the formation of volatile disinfection by-products(DBPs),and with the increase of ClO_(2) dosage,the formation of DBPs can also decrease.

Traditional parametric system identification methods usually rely on apriori knowledge of the targeted system,which may not always be available,especially for complex *** neural networks(NNs)have been increasingly adopted in system iden-tification,most studies have failed to derive interpretable parametric models for further *** this paper,we propose a novel end-to-end autoregressive with exogenous input(ARX)model identification framework using *** order-wise neural network structure is introduced and trained using a multitask learning approach to simultaneously identify both the model terms and coefficients of the ARX *** testing with various neural network backbones and training data sizes in different scenarios,we empirically demonstrate that the proposed framework can effectively identify an arbitrary stable ARX model with finite simulation training *** study opens up a new research opportunity for parametric system identification by harnessing the power of deep learning.
