Enzymatic self-assembly/disassembly turns “ON”/“OFF” the mimetic hydrolytic activity of histidine nanofibers

Mimetic enzymes are devised as alternates or supplements of natural enzymes in broad fields but regulating their activities in a switchable manner remains ***,we proposed an enzymatic self-assembly/disassembly strategy to address this issue.A peptide molecule Nap FFEYIH(YH) was rationally designed which,after self-assembling into nanofibers,lined up the histidine moieties to form active hydrolysis centers for mimicking hydrolase *** dephosphorylation of Nap FFEYp IH(Yp H) by alkaline phosphatase to yield YH also turned “ON” the hydrolase *** turn,phosphorylation of YH by phosphokinase epidermal growth factor receptor to yield Yp H disassembled the nanofibers and thus turned the activity “OFF”.As such,the “ON”/“OFF” of the mimetic hydrolase activities could be regulated under physiological conditions through ALP/EGFR-mediated self-assembly/disassembly of histidine *** work provides a feasible strategy for the on-demand fabrication of artificial enzymes with controllable and superior activities.

Fluidization technology has been used in CO 2 capture processes, the successful design and operation of the heat exchangers involved in this process require much information on the bed-to-wall heat transfer of the sorbent particles in fluidized states. In this study, the bed-to-wall heat transfer coefficient ( h ) of a solid amine sorbent was measured by a heat transfer probe in a large-scale circulating fluidized bed cold model unit, where full spectrum of fluidization regimes can be realized. The corresponding hydrodynamic signals were also studied by pressure sensors and optical fiber probes to further explain the newly discovered phenomenon. The results show that in a dense bed, due to the counterbalanced effect of time fraction of packet and packet renewal frequency, h of the Geldart B particle reaches a peak within the bubbling fluidized regime, and the radial distribution of h are opposite in bubbling and turbulent fluidized regimes. In a fast fluidization regime, gas convection becomes the dominant factor affecting h when the solids holdup is low enough. Correlations were provided or recommended to guide the design of heat exchangers in the fluidized bed CO 2 capture processes. Suancai is a traditional fermented vegetable widely consumed in Northeast *** this study,different prebiotics were used to improve the quality of *** prebiotics(inulin(INU),xylooligosaccharide(XO S),galactooligosaccharide(GOS),and stachyose(STA))were shown to reduce the pH value and increase the content of total titratable acidity(TTA)in suancai,while the contents of most organic acids were also *** addition of prebiotics had significant effects on the bacterial microbiota during the suancai fermentation *** prebiotics were shown to contribute to the growth of *** suancai sample with fructooligosaccharides(FOS)had the highest relative abundance of ***,INU and XOS could increase the abundance of *** evaluate the quality of suancai fermented with prebiotics,profiles of volatile flavor compounds(VOCs)and free amino acids(FAA)were *** prebiotics affected the VOCs and FAA profiles via transforming the bacterial *** addition,the addition of prebiotics also changed the taste profiles of the suancai *** study is among the first attempts to reveal the effects of different prebiotics on suancai fermentation,and the findings provide a foundation to develop new ways for improving the quality of suancai.

Despite much research in the field of island biogeography,mechanisms regulating insular diversity remain ***,we aim to explore mechanisms underlying plant species-area relationships in two tropical archipelagoes in the South China *** found positive plant species-area relationships for both coral and continental ***,our results showed that different mechanisms contributed to similar plant species-area relationships between the two *** coral islands,soil nutrients and spatial distance among communities played major roles in shaping plant community structure and species *** contrast,the direct effect of island area,and to a lesser extent,soil nutrients determined plant species richness on continental ***,increasing soil nutrients availability(N,P,K)had opposite effects on plant diversity between the two *** summary,the habitat quality effect and dispersal limitation are important for regulating plant diversity on coral islands,whereas the passive sampling effect,and to a lesser extent,the habitat quality effect are important for regulating plant diversity on continental *** generally,our findings indicate that island plant species-area relationships are outcomes of the interplay of both niche and neutral processes,but the driving mechanisms behind these relationships depends on the type of islands.

The development of alloys with high antioxidation performance is limited by the ambiguous details of the oxidation ***,based on the structures of internal oxides detected by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy,a hybrid method combining first-principles calculation,climb image nudged elastic band method and quasi-harmonic Debye model has been implemented to explain the oxidation mechanism with an emphasis on the origin of delamination and *** results showed that the delamination of oxides corresponds to the acceleration of diffusion of Cr element caused by lamellar *** reduction in the cracking occurrence at high temperature mainly results from the smaller bulk modulus of ***,the stronger chemical bonds promoted by lamellar structures also correspond to the higher crackingresistance.

Lead-halide perovskites exhibit outstanding performance in X-ray detection due to their intrinsic features such as high charge carrier mobility,large atomic number,and long carrier lifetime,but the toxicity of lead is regarded as the major factor hindering their ***,we introduce organic molecule(R)-(-)-2-methylpiperazine(R-MPz)into the bismuth-based structure to synthesize lead-free(R)-(H_(2)MPz)BiI_(5)(R-MBI).The high-quality centimeter-sized single crystals have been obtained,which show a low dark current and superior environmental ***,the single-crystal device of R-MBI exhibits a highμτproduct up to 1.88×10^(-4)cm^(2)/V and a low trap density of 1.21×10^(10)cm^(-3).Further,the detector displays excellent detection sensitivity of 263.58μC Gy_(air)^(-1)cm^(-2)and a favorable low detection limit of 4.35μGyair/s,both of which meet the requirement for medical *** findings shed light on the exploration of innovative bismuth-based hybrid perovskites for high-performance X-ray detection.

In this study,we proposed a novel method that integrates density functional theory(DFT)with the finite field method to accurately estimate the polarizability and dielectric constant of *** approach effectively accounts for the influence of electronic and geometric conformation changed on the dielectric *** validated our method using polyethylene(PE)and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)as benchmark materials,and found that it reliably predicted their dielectric ***,we explored the impact of conformation variations in poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)on its dielectric constant and *** resulting dielectric constants ofα-andγ-PVDF(3.0)showed excellent agreement with crystalline PVDF in *** findings illuminate the relationship between PVDF’s structural properties and its electrical behavior,offering valuable insights for material design and applications.

Proposing a machine learning approach to analyze and predict basic high-temperature properties of iron ore fines and its factors

The basic high-temperature properties of iron ore play a crucial role in optimizing sintering and ore blending,but the testing process for these properties is complex and has significant lag time,which cannot meet the actual needs of ore blending.A prediction model for the basic high-temperature properties of iron ore fines was thus proposed based on a combination of machine learning algorithms and genetic ***,the prediction accuracy of different machine learning models for the basic high-temperature properties of iron ore fines was ***,a random forest model optimized by genetic algorithms was built,further improving the prediction accuracy of the *** test results show that the random forest model optimized by genetic algorithms has the highest prediction accuracy for the lowest assimilation temperature and liquid phase fluidity of iron ore,with a determination coefficient of 0.903 for the lowest assimilation temperature and 0.927 for the liquid phase fluidity after *** trained model meets the fluctuation requirements of on-site testing and has been successfully applied to actual production on site.
