One-dimensional ZnMn2O4 nanowires have been prepared and investigated as anode materials in Li rechargeable batteries. The highly crystalline ZnMn2O4 nanowires about 15 nm in width and 500 nm in length showed a high specific capacity of about 650 mAh.g-1 at a current rate of 100 mA.g-1 after 40 cycles. They also exhibited high power capability at elevated current rates, i.e., 450 and 350 mAh.g 1 at current rates of 500 and 1000 mA.g 1, respectively. Formation of Mn3O4 and ZnO phases was identified by ex situ X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） studies after the initial discharge-charge cycle, which indicates that the ZnMn2O4 phase was converted to a nanocomposite of Mn3O4 and ZnO phases immediately after the electrochemical conversion reaction.

Evaluating the expected sliding distance of a vertical slit caisson breakwater is proposed. Time history for the wave load to a vertical slit caisson is made. It consists of two impulsive wave pressures followed by a smooth sinusoidal pressure. In the numerical analysis, the sliding distance for an attack of single wave was shown and the expected sliding distance during 50 years was also presented. Those results were compared with a vertical front caisson breakwater without slit. It was concluded that the sliding distance of a vertical slit caisson may be over-estimated if the wave pressure on the caisson is evaluated without considering vertical slit.

Cowden syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant disorder that is characterized by multiple hamartomas in a variety of tissues and this is associated with germline mutations in the phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) gene, which is the tumor suppressor gene located on chromosome 10q23.3. It is characterized by multiple hamartomatous neoplasms of the skin, oral mucosa, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, bones, central nervous system, eyes, and genitourinary tract. Cowden syndrome does not have increased risk of GI malignancy; however, it has an increased risk of breast, thyroid and endometrial cancer development. Herethe authors report a rare case of Cowden syndrome incidentally diagnosed from multiple gastric polyposis. A 29-year-old woman presented with multiple gastric polyps. The laboratory results were normal except for mild anemia, with a hemoglobin level of 11.9 g/dL. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed multiple gastric, duodenal polyps and esophageal acanthosis. Colonoscopy revealed possible hamartomatous polyps in the rectum. Under the suspicion of Cowden syndrome, sonography of the thyroid and breasts was carried out, which revealed multiple thyroid masses. Subsequent fine-needle aspiration biopsy revealed the presence of clusters of follicular epithelial cells, and due to the possibility of malignancy, the patient underwent total thyroidectomy. The pathology was reported as invasive follicular carcinoma. A gene study by direct sequencing showed the presence of a PTEN mutation (c.633C > A /***211*).

Despite the success of antiretroviral therapy(ART),efforts to develop new classes of antiviral agents have been hampered by the emergence of drug ***-indole-bearing aristolactams are compounds that have been isolated from various plants species and which show several clinically relevant effects,including anti-inflammatory,antiplatelet,and antimycobacterial ***,the effect of these compounds on human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1)infection has not yet been *** this study,we discovered an aristolactam derivative bearing dibenzo[cd,f]indol-4(5 H)-one that had a potent anti-HIV-1 effect.A structure-activity relationship(SAR)study using nine synthetic derivatives of aristolactam identified the differing effects of residue substitutions on the inhibition of HIV-1 infection and cell *** the compounds tested,1,2,8,9-tetramethoxy-5-(2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethyl)-dibenzo[cd,f]indol-4(5 H)-one(Compound 2)exhibited the most potent activity by inhibiting HIV-1 infection with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 1.03 lmol/L and a half-maximal cytotoxic concentration(CC50)of 16.91 lmol/L(selectivity index,16.45).The inhibitory effect of the compounds on HIV-1 infection was linked to inhibition of the viral replication ***-of-action studies showed that the aristolactam derivatives did not affect reverse transcription or integration;instead,they specifically inhibited Tat-mediated viral *** together,these findings show that several aristolactam derivatives impaired HIV-1 infection by inhibiting the activity of Tat-mediated viral transcription,and suggest that these derivatives could be antiviral drug candidates.

Currently, there is no single gold standard modality for staging of gastric cancer and several methods have been used complementarily in the each clinical situation. To make up for the shortcomings of conventional modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound, computed tomography and 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography, numerous attempts with new approaches have been made for gastric cancer staging. For T staging, magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band was evaluated to differentiate mucosal cancer from submucosal cancer. Single/double contrast-enhanced ultrasound and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging were also tried to improve diagnostic accuracy of gastric cancer. For intraoperative staging with sentinel node mapping, indocyanine green infrared and fluorescence imaging was introduced. In addition, to detect micrometastasis, real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction system with multiple markers was studied. Staging laparoscopy using 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic diagnosis and percutaneous diagnostic peritoneal lavage were also evaluated. However, most studies reporting new staging methods is preliminary and further studies for validation in clinical practice are needed. In this mini-review, we discuss new progress in gastric cancer staging. Especially, we focus on new diagnostic approach to gastric cancer staging beyond the conventional modalities and briefly review the remarkable clinical results of the studies published over the past three years.

BACKGROUND Jack hammer esophagus is a relatively rare disease and to date,there is no dramatic treatment ***,conventional per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) have expanded their area into Jackhammer ***,several complications such as post procedure motility disorders (e.g.,passage disturbance) are issues after *** overcome these issues,we here introduced high-resolution manometry (HRM)-guided superficial partial circular muscle myotomy,which involves cutting only the superficial layer of the esophageal circular *** SUMMARY We report two cases of patients with Jackhammer esophagus who were treated with HRM-guided extremely superficial partial circular muscle myotomy during *** 1 was a 53-year-old female with medication-refractory odynophagia and case 2 was a 47-year-old man who presented with chest *** were diagnosed with Jackhammer esophagus using HRM,and the hypercontractile segments of the esophagus were ***-guided extremely superficial partial circular muscle myotomy was performed while preserving the lower esophageal ***,the circular and longitudinal muscle layers are preserved but hypercontractile movements are reduced,even after ***’ clinical symptoms dramatically improved right after POEM,and 6-mo follow-up HRM revealed completely resolved *** a 1-year follow-up period,patients were still in good health and remained symptom *** HRM-guided superficial partial circular muscle myotomy may be a promising alternative to conventional POEM for treating Jackhammer esophagus with improved efficacy.

As living standards improve,the demand for artworks has been escalating,transcending beyond the realm of mere basic human ***,amidst an extensive array of artwork choices,users often struggle to swiftly and accurately identify their preferred *** such scenarios,a recommendation system can be invaluable,assisting users in promptly pinpointing the desired artworks for better service *** the escalating demand for artwork recommendation systems,current research fails to adequately meet these ***,existing artwork recommendation methodologies tend to disregard users’implicit interests,thereby overestimating their capability to articulate their preferences in full and often neglecting the nuances of their diverse *** response to these challenges,we have developed a weighted artwork correlation graph and put forth an embedding-based keyword-driven artwork search and recommendation *** approach transforms the keywords that delineate user interests into word embedding *** allows for an effective distinction between the user’s core and peripheral ***,we employ a dynamic programming algorithm to extract artworks from the correlation graph,thereby obtaining artworks that align with the user’s explicit keywords and implicit *** have conducted an array of experiments using real-world datasets to validate our *** results attest to the superiority of our method in terms of its efficacy in searching and recommending artworks.

Aim:To study the effect of arecoline,an alkaloid isolated from Areca catechu,onthe secretion of catecholamines (CA) evoked by cholinergic agonists and themembrane depolarizer from isolated perfused rat adrenal ***:Adrenalglands were isolated from male Sprague-Dawley *** adrenal glands wereperfused with Krebs bicarbonate solution by means of a peristaltic *** CAcontent of the perfusate was measured directly using the fluorometric ***:Arecoline (0.1-1.0 mmol/L) perfused into an adrenal vein for 60 min pro-duced dose-and time-dependent inhibition in CA secretory responses evoked byacetylcholine (ACh) (5.32 mmol/L),1.1-dimethyl-4-phenyl piperazinium iodide(DMPP) (100μmol/L for 2 min) and 3-(m-choloro-phenyl-carbamoyl-oxy)-2-butynyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (McN-A-343)(100μmol/L for 2 min).However,lowerdoses of arecoline did not affect CA secretion of high K~+(56 mmol/L);higherdoses greatly reduced CA secretion of high K~+.Arecoline also failed to affectbasal catecholamine ***,in adrenal glands loaded with arecoline(0.3 mmol/L),CA secretory response evoked by Bay-K-8644 (10μmol/L),an activa-tor of L-type Ca2+channels,was markedly inhibited,whereas CA secretion bycyclopiazonic acid(10μmol/L),an inhibitor of cytoplasmic Ca2+-ATPase,was *** (30μmol/L),which was perfused into the adrenal gland for 60min,however,initially enhanced ACh-evoked CA secretory *** timeelapsed,these responses became more inhibited,whereas the initially enhancedhigh K~+-evoked CA release *** secretion evoked by DMPP and McN-A-343 was significantly depressed in the presence of ***:Arecoline dose-dependently inhibits CA secretion from isolated perfused rat ad-renal gland evoked by activation of cholinergic *** lower doses arecolinedoes not inhibit CA secretion through membrane depolarization,but at largerdoses it *** inhibitory effect of arecoline may be mediated by blocking thecalcium inf
