The effect of potassium pyrophosphate in the electrolyte on plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) process for AZ91 Mg alloy was *** morphologies and chemical compositions of the coating layer on the AZ91 Mg alloy were evaluated and corrosion resistance was also estimated by potentiodynamic polarization *** coating layer on AZ91 Mg alloy coated from the Bath 2 containing 0.03 mol/L of potassium pyrophosphate for 360 s exhibited considerably dense structure and contained 11%-18%(mass fraction) of *** higher content of phosphorous of coating layer coated from Bath 2 could be detected at the bottom of oxide layer,which strongly implied that the phosphorous ion might be concentrated at the barrier *** potential of coating layer of AZ91 Mg alloy increased and corrosion current density decreased with increasing the concentration of potassium *** polarization resistance(Rp) of coating layer of AZ91 Mg alloy coated from Bath 2 was 4.65×107 Ω/cm2,which was higher than that(Rp=3.56×104 Ω/cm2) of the sample coated from electrolyte without potassium *** coating layer coated from Bath 2 containing 0.03 mol/L potassium pyrophosphate exhibited the best corrosion resistance.

The aim of this work is to investigate microstructure,corrosion resistance characteristics and nanohardness of the oxide layer on AZ91 Mg alloy by applying different voltage with KMnO4 contained *** are lots of closed pores that are filled with another oxide compound compared with the typical surface morphology with pore coated until 350 V of coating *** thickness of oxide layer increases with increasing coating *** oxide layer formed on AZ91 Mg alloy in electrolyte with potassium permanganate consists of MgO and *** potential of the oxide layer on AZ91 Mg alloy obtained at different plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) reaction stages increases with increasing coating *** corrosion resistance of AZ91 Mg alloy depends on the existence of the manganese oxide in the oxide *** inner barrier layer composed of the MgO and Mn2O3 may serve as diffusion barrier to enhance the corrosion resistance and may partially explain the excellent anti-corrosion performance in corrosion *** values increase with increasing coating *** increase in the nanohardness may be due to the effect of manganese oxide in the oxide layer on AZ91 Mg alloy coated from electrolyte containing KMnO4.

Three heat shock protein （HSP） genes （hsp70, hsc70, hsp90） were partially cloned from the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens and the small brown planthopper Laodelphax striatellus （Homoptera： Delphacidae）, which are serious pests of the rice plant. Sequence comparisons at the deduced amino acid level showed that the three HSPs of planthoppers were most homologous to corresponding HSPs of dipteran and lepidopteran species. Identities of both heat shock cognate 70 and HSP90 were higher than HSP70 in both species. Identity of the HSP70 between the two planthopper species was only 81%, a value much lower than seen among fly and moth groups. Effects of heat and cold shocks were demonstrated on expression of the three hsp genes in the two planthopper species. Heat shock （40 ℃） upregulated the hsp90 level but did not change the hsc70 level in either the nymph and adult stages of either species. On the other hand, the hsp70 level was only upregulated in L. striatellus. This heat shock response was prompt and lasted only for 1 h after treatment. In contrast, cold shock at 4℃ did not change the expression levels of any hsp in either species.

BACKGROUND Lemierre's syndrome is a disease that causes anaerobic sepsis,internal jugular vein thrombosis,and septic embolism in the lungs and other organs after acute oropharyngeal *** was named after André-Alfred Lemierre in *** SUMMARY Here,we have reported a case of Lemierre’s syndrome in a 56-year-old female patient who presented with a sore *** patient had septic shock,had not voided,and had severe hyperglycemia at the time of her *** tests revealed bilateral pneumonia,pleural effusion,pulmonary embolism,and renal vein *** patient was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on mechanical ventilation due to acute respiratory distress *** renal replacement therapy was administered to treat renal failure with *** pneumoniae was cultured from blood and sputum *** reviewing various results,the patient was ultimately diagnosed with Lemierre’s *** patient was treated with appropriate antibiotics and thrombolytic *** was discharged from the hospital after *** Lemierre’s syndrome is associated with a high mortality ***,clinicians should be familiar with the signs and symptoms of this disease as well as the preemptive examinations,procedures,and treatments.

Realizing a lithium sulfide(Li_(2)S)cathode with both high energy density and a long lifespan requires an innovative cathode design that maximizes electrochemical performance and resists electrode ***,a high-loading Li_(2)S-based cathode with micrometric Li_(2)S particles composed of two-dimensional graphene(Gr)and one-dimensional carbon nanotubes(CNTs)in a compact geometry is developed,and the role of CNTs in stable cycling of high-capacity Li–S batteries is *** a dimensionally combined carbon matrix,CNTs embedded within the Gr sheets create robust and sustainable electron diffusion pathways while suppressing the passivation of the active carbon *** a unique point,during the first charging process,the proposed cathode is fully activated through the direct conversion of Li_(2)S into S_(8) without inducing lithium polysulfide *** direct conversion of Li_(2)S into S_(8) in the composite cathode is ubiquitously investigated using the combined study of in situ Raman spectroscopy,in situ optical microscopy,and cryogenic transmission electron *** composite cathode demonstrates unprecedented electrochemical properties even with a high Li_(2)S loading of 10 mg cm^(–2);in particular,the practical and safe Li–S full cell coupled with a graphite anode shows ultra-long-term cycling stability over 800 cycles.

Objectives： To elucidate how ethanol extract of L. serratum（ELS） could exert anti-migratory effects on glioma with the suppression of nuclear factor kappa B（NF-κB） downstream pathway. Methods： Cell viability of ELS on C6 glioma was detected by 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide（MTT） assay. Nitric oxide（NO） assay and 2＇,7＇-dichlorofluorescin diacetate（DCFH-DA） assay were applied to measure NO production and reactive oxygen species（ROS） generation on lipopolysaccharide（LPS）-induced C6 glioma cells. NF-κB, mitogen-activated protein kinase（MAPK）, inducible nictric oxide synthase（i NOS） and cyclooxygenase-2（COX-2） protein were determined by Western blot. Wound healing assay was used to investigate the inhibitory effect of ELS on fetal bovine serum（FBS）-induced migration and matrix metalloproteinase（MMP）-9 and-2 activity was examined by zymography. Results： ELS suppressed LPS-induced phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase（ERK）, c-Jun N-terminal kinase（JNK）, and p38 through inhibiting the expression of chemokine CCL2（or monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, MCP-1）. In addition, ELS inhibited the expression of i NOS, COX-2, and the production of NO by LPS in C6 glioma cells. ELS also significantly decreased serum-induced migration of C6 glioma cells in scratch wound healing in a dose-dependent manner（P〈0.01）. The activity of MMP-9 and-2 were also significantly attenuated by ELS with LPS treatment（P〈0.01）. Conclusion： Our results suggest that downregulation of MMP-9 gene expression might be involved in the anti-migration effect of ELS against LPS-induced C6 glioma cells.

Subcellular organelles in eukaryotes are surrounded by lipid *** an endomembrane system,vesicle trafficking is the primary mechanism for the delivery of organellar proteins to specific ***,organellar proteins for chloroplasts,mitochondria,the nucleus,and peroxisomes that are translated in the cytosol are directly imported into their target *** are a plant-specific organelle with outer and inner envelope membranes,a dual-membrane structure that is similar to *** chloroplast proteins translated by cytosolic ribosomes are thus translocated through TOC and TIC complexes(translocons in the outer and inner envelope of chloroplasts,respectively),with stromal ATPase motor proteins playing a critical role in pulling pre-proteins through these import *** the last three decades,the identity and function of TOC/TIC components and stromal motor proteins have been actively investigated,which has shed light on the action mechanisms at a molecular ***,there remains some disagreement over the exact composition of TIC complexes and genuine stromal motor *** this review,we discuss recent findings on the mechanisms by which proteins are translocated through TOC/TIC complexes and discuss future prospects for this field of research.

Flexible thermoelectrics provide a distinct solution for developing sustainable and portable power ***/organic material compositing is an effective strategy to induce a significant enhancement of thermoelectric(TE)***,the poor electrical performance of inorganic/organic material is attributed to the poor carrier transport between organic/inorganic interfaces induced by the low contribution of composited inorganic ***,we prepared a high room temperature figure-of-merit(ZT)value of~0.19 and high bending resistance(surviving 1200 bending cycles at the bending radius of 16.5 mm)of p-type poly(3,4-ethylenedioxy thiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)/Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3)free-standing composite film via a facile vacuum-as sis ted filtration *** Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3)nano-spherical particles into PEDOT:PSS results in the optimized interfacial contact and carrier concentration,leading to a high Seebeck coefficient of~43.79μV·K^(-1).Accordingly,a high-power factor of~1.52μW·cm^(-1)·K^(-2)is achieved in the PEDOT:PSS/Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3)composite film at room *** addition,the PEDOT:PSS/Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3)interfaces with phase boundaries,nanograins and point defects could further decrease the thermal conductivity to~0.20 W·m^(-1)K^(-1),leading to a high ZT ***,a 6-leg freestanding film device was assembled,which provided an output power of 44.94 *** study demonstrates that free-standing organic/inorganic composite films are effective power sources for wearable electronic products.

Objective:To investigate the effect of Orostachys(O.)japonicus,a perennial herbaceous plant of the Family Crassulaceae,on biofilm formed by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA).Methods:Powdered *** was extracted by 95%methanol,concentrated,and then,systematically fractionated with n-hexane,dichloromethane(DCM),ethyl acetate(EtOAc),n-butanol,and H2 O according to *** them,the flavonoid-rich EtOAc fraction demonstrated the highest antibacterial activity and was used in this *** the biofilm inhibition assay,cell-surface attachment assay,confocal laser scanning microscopy,latex agglutination assay,and real time qRT-PCR,we examined whether the EtOAc fraction inhibited the formation of MRSA ***:The EtOAc fraction exhibited distinct activity against biofilm formation and cell-surface attachment of MRSA up to 1 mg/m L through down-regulating the expression of mec A gene and the production and agglutination of penicillin-binding protein 2 a as solidly observed in biofilm inhibition assay,cell-suface attachment assay,confocal laser scanning microscopy,latex agglutination assay,and real time qRT-PCR ***:These results suggest that *** could be utilized as a potential resource for the development of new antibiofilm formation of MRSA and antibacterial agents in the future.

In order to flower in the appropriate season,plants monitor light and temperature changes and alter downstream pathways that regulate florigen genes such as Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana)FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT).In Arabidopsis,FT messenger RNA levels peak in the morning and evening under natural long-day conditions(LDs).However,the regulatory mechanisms governing morning FT induction remain poorly *** morning FT peak is absent in typical laboratory LDs characterized by high red:far-red light(R:FR)ratios and constant ***,we demonstrate that ZEITLUPE(ZTL)interacts with the FT repressors TARGET OF EATs(TOEs),thereby repressing morning FT expression in natural *** LDs with simulated sunlight(R:FR=1.0)and daily temperature cycles,which are natural LD-mimicking environmental conditions,FT transcript levels in the ztl mutant were high specifically in the morning,a pattern that was mirrored in the toe1 toe2 double *** night-to-morning temperatures increased the inhibitory effect of ZTL on morning FT expression by increasing ZTL protein levels early in the ***-red light counteracted ZTL activity by decreasing its abundance(possibly via phytochrome A(phyA))while increasing GIGANTEA(GI)levels and negatively affecting the formation of the ZTL-GI complex in the ***,the phyA-mediated high-irradiance response and GI play pivotal roles in morning FT *** findings suggest that the delicate balance between low temperature-mediated ZTL activity and the far-red light-mediated functions of phyA and GI offers plants flexibility in fine-tuning their flowering time by controlling FT expression in the morning.
