Halide perovskites have been extensively studied for use as light-emitting diodes(LEDs)in next-generation displays due to their beneficial characteristics,including their high color purity and wide color *** perovskites can be categorized into four representative structures:three-dimensional(3D)bulk,two-dimensional(2D),quasi-two-dimensional(quasi-2D),and quantum dot(QD).Recently,excellent advances in the performance of perovskite LEDs(PeLEDs),especially those with quasi-2D and QD architectures,have been demonstrated with the incorporation of organic chain *** can both modify the structure of PeLEDs,such as forming multi-quantum wells in quasi-2D PeLEDs and essential passivation layers in QD PeLEDs,and also enhance their optical *** appropriate use of ligands in PeLEDs can thus lead to greater luminescence,current efficiency,power efficiency,and external quantum *** this review,the principal roles of ligands in quasi-2D and QD PeLEDs are systematically ***,current limitations and future perspectives are discussed in detail.

The onset of the Cambrian witnessed the diversification of ＂small shelly fossils （SSF）＂, which affected carbonate depositional system. One of the problematic SSF, chancelloriids, are common components of the early to middle Cambrian carbonate and shale, and their contributions toward Cambrian carbonates are not yet fully understood. This study assesses distribution patterns of chancelloriid sclerites in the Cambrian Series 3 Daegi Formation based on microfacies analysis and discusses their sedimentologic implications. In the lower part of the formation, partially articulated chancelloriid sclerites occur mainly in bioclastic packstone and grainstone facies, with isolated sclerite rays in nodular packstone to grainstone facies. In the middle part of the formation, chancelloriid fragments occur only sporadically in bioclastic wackestone to packstone, bioclastic grainstone and oolitic packstone to grainstone facies, whereas boundstone facies are nearly devoid of their fragments. There are no chancelloriid fragments in the upper part of the formation, which consists of oolitic packstone to grainstone facies. Chancelloriids are interpreted to have primarily occupied platform margin shoal environments, shedding their sclerites to surrounding areas, and thus contributed as sediment producers. The distribution of Daegi chancelloriid sclerites is similar to other Cambrian examples, with the exception of common chancelloriids in Cambrian Series 2 reefs and their apparent near absence in the Daegi and other Cambrian Series 3 reefs. This disparity resulted from changes in the ecologic niche of chancelloriids after the end-Cambrian Series 2 reef crisis, coupled with an overall decline of chancelloriids in the middle Cambrian.

Currently, there is no single gold standard modality for staging of gastric cancer and several methods have been used complementarily in the each clinical situation. To make up for the shortcomings of conventional modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound, computed tomography and 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography, numerous attempts with new approaches have been made for gastric cancer staging. For T staging, magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band was evaluated to differentiate mucosal cancer from submucosal cancer. Single/double contrast-enhanced ultrasound and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging were also tried to improve diagnostic accuracy of gastric cancer. For intraoperative staging with sentinel node mapping, indocyanine green infrared and fluorescence imaging was introduced. In addition, to detect micrometastasis, real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction system with multiple markers was studied. Staging laparoscopy using 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic diagnosis and percutaneous diagnostic peritoneal lavage were also evaluated. However, most studies reporting new staging methods is preliminary and further studies for validation in clinical practice are needed. In this mini-review, we discuss new progress in gastric cancer staging. Especially, we focus on new diagnostic approach to gastric cancer staging beyond the conventional modalities and briefly review the remarkable clinical results of the studies published over the past three years.

Despite the success of antiretroviral therapy(ART),efforts to develop new classes of antiviral agents have been hampered by the emergence of drug ***-indole-bearing aristolactams are compounds that have been isolated from various plants species and which show several clinically relevant effects,including anti-inflammatory,antiplatelet,and antimycobacterial ***,the effect of these compounds on human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1)infection has not yet been *** this study,we discovered an aristolactam derivative bearing dibenzo[cd,f]indol-4(5 H)-one that had a potent anti-HIV-1 effect.A structure-activity relationship(SAR)study using nine synthetic derivatives of aristolactam identified the differing effects of residue substitutions on the inhibition of HIV-1 infection and cell *** the compounds tested,1,2,8,9-tetramethoxy-5-(2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethyl)-dibenzo[cd,f]indol-4(5 H)-one(Compound 2)exhibited the most potent activity by inhibiting HIV-1 infection with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of 1.03 lmol/L and a half-maximal cytotoxic concentration(CC50)of 16.91 lmol/L(selectivity index,16.45).The inhibitory effect of the compounds on HIV-1 infection was linked to inhibition of the viral replication ***-of-action studies showed that the aristolactam derivatives did not affect reverse transcription or integration;instead,they specifically inhibited Tat-mediated viral *** together,these findings show that several aristolactam derivatives impaired HIV-1 infection by inhibiting the activity of Tat-mediated viral transcription,and suggest that these derivatives could be antiviral drug candidates.

Colloidal quantum-dot(QD)light-emitting diodes(QLEDs)have been in the forefront of future display devices due to their outstanding optoelectronic ***,a complicated solution-process for patterning the red,green,and blue QDs deteriorates the QLED performance and limits the resolution of full-color ***,we report a novel concept of QD–organic hybrid light-emitting diodes by introducing an organic blue common layer(BCL)which is deposited through a common mask over the entire *** from the optimized device structure,red and green QLEDs retained their color coordinates despite the presence of the ***,adopting the BCL improved the external quantum efficiency of green and red QLEDs by 38.4%and 11.7%,respectively,due to the Förster resonance energy transfer from the BCL to the adjacent QD *** the BCL structure,we could simply demonstrate a full-color QD-organic hybrid device in a single *** believe that this device architecture is practically applicable for easier fabrication of solution-processed,highresolution,and full-color displays with reduced process steps.

OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the effect of Nelumbo Nucifera leaf water extract （NNLE） on insulinoma （RIN） cells induced by interleukin-1β （1L-1β） and interferon-g （IFN-γ）, and injured pancreatic β-cells induced by Streptozotocin （STZ） in rats. METHODS： The anti-oxidative effects of NNLE were assessed using 1,1 -diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl （DPPH） and nitric oxide （NO） scavenging assays. The inhibitory effect of NNLE on a-glucosidase and DPP （dipeptidyl peptidase）-IV was measured in vitro. Pancreatic 1β-cell protective and insulin secretory effects were assessed, using 1L-1β and IFN-γ-inducedrat RIN cells. STZ-induced diabetic rats were treated with 50, 100, and 400 mg/kg NNLE for 4 weeks. The effects of NNLE on blood glucose （BG）, body weight （BW）, and lipid profiles were measured. RESULTS： NNLE inhibited DPPH, NO, aglucosidase, and DPP-Ⅳ which were directly linked to the function of β-cells. Furthermore, NNLE protected RIN cells from toxicity induced by 11-11β and IFN-γ, decreased NO production, and increased insulin secretion. NNLE caused a significant reduction in blood glucose, triglyceride （TG）, total cholesterol （TC）, blood urea nitrogen （BUN）, and creatinine in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Furthermore, it significantly decreased BW loss in STZ-induced diabetic rats. CONCLUSION： Our results suggest that NNLE reduced the toxicity in insulinoma cells and increased insulin secretion in pancreatic β-cells in STZ-induced diabetic rats.

To accomplish mass hydrogen production by electrochemical water-splitting,it is a necessary to develop robust,highly active,stable,and cost-effective hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts that perform comparably to Pt in the universal pH *** this work,cobalt phosphide hybrid nanosheets supported on carbon felt(CoP HNS/CF)are presented,which exhibit the superior electrocatalytic hydrogen production under a *** these nanosheets,a single CoP HNS is composed of polycrystalline CoP and oxygen-enriched amorphous Co-O-P *** from its unique nanoarchitecture,as-fabricated CoP HNS/CF exhibits a tremendous electrocatalytic HER activity and outperforms Pt/C as well as state-of-the-art CoP electrocatalysts in *** acidic and neutral media,the CoP HNS/CF shows superior electrocatalytic activity while maintaining its original hybrid crystalline-amorphous phase and *** alkaline medium,the unexpected phase and morphological reorganization of CoP HNS/CF results in outstanding electrocatalytic *** HNS/CF not only achieves high electrocatalytic activity and kinetics,but also a stable and long operating lifetime even under a high current density of 500 mA cm'***,the fabrication of CoP HNS/CF can be scaled up easily,and the large CoP HNS/CF electrode also exhibits similar electrocatalytic activity and stability.

Cambrian Stem-group Cnidarians with a New Species from the Cambrian Series 3 of the Taebaeksan Basin, Korea

Five species, Lipopora lissa Jell and Jell, 1976, Lipopora daseia Jell and Jell, 1976, Tretocylichne perplexa Engeibretsen, 1993 from Australia, Cambroctoconus orientalis Park, Woo, Lee, Lee, Lee, Han and Chough, 2011 from China, and Cambroctoconus kyrgyzstanicus Peel, 2014 from Kyrgyzstan, belonging to the Cambrian stem-group cnidarians have been documented in the fossil record. Cambroctoconus coreaensis sp. nov., interpreted here as a stem-group cnidarian, from the Seokgaejae section in the Daegi Formation, Taebaek Group （Cambrian Series 3）, Taebaeksan Basin, central-eastern Korean Peninsula, has a slender cup-shaped skeleton. A cladistic analysis produced 21 most parsimonious trees, which invariably placed the six stem-group cnidarians below the crown-group, but their relationships within the stem-group are unresolved. Nine out of the 21 trees suggest a monophyletic relationship for the Cambrian stem-group cnidarians, whereas in six other trees a monophyly of Cambroctoconus and Tretocylichne appeared as the sister-group to the crown-group cnidarians with Lipopora at the most basal branch. This result may reflect the fact that crown-group cnidarians evolved in the Precambrian, and suggests that the diversity of stem-group cnidarians was a result of an independent radiation in the Cambrian.

Preoperative CA 125 is significant indicator of curative resection in gastric cancer patients

AIM: To investigate the correlation among tumor markers, curative resection, and recurrence in gastric ***: The patients with preoperative tumormakers [Carcinoembryonic antigen, Carbohydrate antigen(CA) 19-9, and CA 125] and elective gastrectomy between January 2000 and December 2009 at Chungbuk National University Hospital were enrolled in this study. We analyzed the relationship among the tumor makers, curative resection and recurrence, ***: Among the 679 patients with gastric cancer, curative resection was 93.6%(n = 636) and noncurative resection was 6.4%(n = 43). The independent risk factors for the non-curative resection were tumor location and the positivity of preoperative serum CA 19-9 and CA 125 levels. After curative resection, the independent prognostic risk factors for recurrence in curative resection were gender, stage, and preoperative increased serum CA 125 level(HR = 2.431, P =0.020), in a multivariate analysis. CONCLUSION: Preoperative CA 125 is a useful predictive biomarker for curative resection and prognostic biomarker for recurrence in gastric cancer patients.

A comparative study on machine learning-based classification to find photothrombotic lesion in histological rabbit brain images

Recently,research has been conducted to assist in the processing and analysis of histopathological images using machine learning *** this study,we established machine learning-based algorithms to detect photothrombotic lesions in histological images of photothrombosis-induced rabbit *** machine learning-based algorithms for binary classification were applied,and the accu-racies were compared to classify normal tissues and photothrombotic *** lesion classification model consisting of a 3-layered neural network with a rectified linear unit(ReLU)activation function,Xavier initialization,and Adam optimization using datasets with a unit size of 128×128 pixels yielded the highest accuracy(0.975).In the validation using the tested histological images,it was confirmed that the model could identify regions where brain damage occurred due to photochemical ischemic *** the development of machine learning-based photothrombotic lesion classi-fication models and performance comparisons,we confirmed that machine learning algorithms have the potential to be utilized in histopathology and various medical diagnostic techniques.
