Development of Spectral Features for Monitoring Rice Bacterial Leaf Blight Disease Using Broad-Band Remote Sensing Systems

As an important rice disease, rice bacterial leaf blight (RBLB, caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae), has become widespread in east China in recent years. Significant losses in rice yield occurred as a result ofthe disease’s epidemic, making it imperative to monitor RBLB at a large scale. With the development of remotesensing technology, the broad-band sensors equipped with red-edge channels over multiple spatial resolutionsoffer numerous available data for large-scale monitoring of rice diseases. However, RBLB is characterized by rapiddispersal under suitable conditions, making it difficult to track the disease at a regional scale with a single sensorin practice. Therefore, it is necessary to identify or construct features that are effective across different sensors formonitoring RBLB. To achieve this goal, the spectral response of RBLB was first analyzed based on the canopyhyperspectral data. Using the relative spectral response (RSR) functions of four representative satellite or UAVsensors (i.e., Sentinel-2, GF-6, Planet, and Rededge-M) and the hyperspectral data, the corresponding broad-bandspectral data was simulated. According to a thorough band combination and sensitivity analysis, two novel spectralindices for monitoring RBLB that can be effective across multiple sensors (i.e., RBBRI and RBBDI) weredeveloped. An optimal feature set that includes the two novel indices and a classical vegetation index was formed.The capability of such a feature set in monitoring RBLB was assessed via FLDA and SVM algorithms. The resultdemonstrated that both constructed novel indices exhibited high sensitivity to the disease across multiple sensors.Meanwhile, the feature set yielded an overall accuracy above 90% for all sensors, which indicates its cross-sensorgenerality in monitoring RBLB. The outcome of this research permits disease monitoring with different remotesensing data over a large scale.

Ewing's sarcoma(EWS) is a highly aggressive malignant bone tumor primarily affecting adolescents and young adults. Despite the efficacy of chemoradiotherapy in some cases, the cure rate for patients with metastatic and recurrent disease remains low. Therefore, there is an urgent need for innovative therapeutic approaches to address the challenges associated with EWS treatment. Epigenetic regulation, a crucial factor in physiological processes,plays a significant role in controlling cell proliferation, maintaining gene integrity, and regulating transcription.Recent studies highlight the importance of abnormal epigenetic regulation in the initiation and progression of EWS. A comprehensive understanding of the intricate interactions between EWS and aberrant epigenetic regulation is essential for advancing clinical drug development. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of both epigenetic targets implicated in EWS, integrating various therapeutic modalities to offer innovative perspectives for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of EWS.

Tonifying kidney therapy for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a systematic review

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of tonifying kidney therapy(Bushen, TK) for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS: Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of TK use for treatment of stable COPD were searched in four databases including Pub Med, the Cochrane Library, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database from inception to December 2017. Two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted the data, and assessed the risk of bias in the included studies. Rev Man 5.3 software was used for the Meta-analysis.RESULTS: Eight RCTs involving 809 patients with stable COPD were included. Compared with the conventional Western Medicine(CWM) group, the TK group(TK combined with CWM) showed significant improvements in the effectiveness rates(RR =1.37, 95% CI 1.22 to 1.53, P < 0.000 01) and 6-min walk distance in meters(MD 11.92, 95% CI 3.52 to20.32, P = 0.005), this study also showed that the TK group can decrease The Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score(MD-8.01, 95% CI-12.89 to-3.13, P = 0.001). The lung function [forced expiratory volume in one second%(FEV1%), FEV1/forced vital capacity] showed no difference between the TK and control groups.CONCLUSION: For patients with stable COPD, TK can improve the clinical effectiveness and exercise capacity but fail to improve the patient's symptoms. Because of the low methodological quality of the included trials, additional high-quality and large-scale RCTs are required.

分布式拒绝服务攻击(DDoS)是网络安全的主要威胁之一。近年来,基于多种不同DDoS攻击方式的混合攻击数量大幅增长,如何在保证精度的前提下同时检测多种类型的DDoS攻击成为亟待解决的问题。为此,提出一种基于深度森林的多类型DDoS攻击检测方法。该方法首先使用基于平均不纯度的特征选择算法对多类型异常流量数据集进行特征排序与特征筛选;然后使用多粒度扫描对DDoS训练集进行特征提取,并使用级联森林分层训练模型,最终生成可用于DDoS恶意流量检测与分类的深度森林模型。实验结果表明,与6种主流树类集成学习模型相比,基于改进深度森林的DDoS攻击检测方法训练得到的分类器准确率最低提升了0.8%,召回率最低提升了0.9%;与改进前相比,改进后模型准确率提升了1.3%,加权召回率提高了1.3%,训练时间减少了29.7%。模型整体性能有明显提升。

Kidney-Qi deficiency diagnosed by Deng's diagnosis standard was not correlated with aging based on clinical observation of 90 participants

OBJECTIVE: To verify the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) theory that kidney-Qi deficiency(KQD)is considered to be the main cause of aging using cross-sectional study.METHODS: Demographic and lifestyle characteristics of 90 healthy participants were collected with a self-administered questionnaire. KQD syndrome was diagnosed according to Deng's diagnosis standard. Creatinine-adjusted urinary 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine(8-OH-dG) and 8-isomeric-prostaglandin2α(8-iso-PGF2α), salivary advanced oxidation protein products(AOPPs), malondialdehyde(MDA) and dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate(DHEA-S) were selected as aging markers and measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS: No significant differences were observed in participant characteristics between the KQD group and non-KQD(NKQD) group(P > 0.05). Levels of 8-OH-dG, 8-iso-PGF2α, AOPPs, and MDA increased with age, except for a slight decrease in8-OH-dG in the older group. The increase in8-iso-PGF2α was significant(P < 0.05). DHEA-S significantly decreased with increasing age(P < 0.01).8-OH-dG levels were higher in the KQD group compared with the NKQD group. Levels of urinary8-iso-PGF2α, salivary AOPPs, and MDA in the KQD group were lower than in the NKQD group. Salivary DHEA-S was higher in the KQD group compared with the NKQD group. However, differences between KQD group and NKQD group were not significant.CONCLUSION: The current results suggested that KQD syndrome, as diagnosed by Deng's standard,does not underlie the aging phenotype.

Sulfonic groups functionalized Zr-metal organic framework for highly catalytic transfer hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol

The highly selective catalytic transfer hydrogenation(CTH)of furfural(FF)to furfuryl alcohol(FOL)is a significant route of biomass valorization.Herein,a series microporous Zr-metal organic framework(ZrMOF)functionalized by sulfonic groups are prepared.Based on the comprehensive structural characterizations by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),N2 physisorption,Thermogravimetric(TG)and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),we find that sulfonic acid(–SO_(3)H)functional groups are tethered on the UIO-66 without affecting the structure of the framework.Systematic characterizations(NH_(3)-TPD,CO_(2)-TPD,and in-situ FTIR)demonstrate that modifying of sulfonic groups on UIO-66 results in the formation of stronger Lewis acidic-basic and Brnsted acidis sites.The cooperative role of the versatile Lewis acidic-basic and Brnsted acidic sites in 60%mol fraction of sulfonic acid-containing UIO-66(UIO-S_(0.6))retain high surface area and exhibit excellent catalytic performance of 94.7%FOL yield and 16.9 h^(-1).turnover number(TOF)under mild conditions.Kinetic experiments reveal that the activation energy of the CTH of furfural(FF)over UIO-S_(0.6) catalyst is as low as 50.8 k J mol^(-1).Besides,the hydrogen transfer mechanism is investigated through isotope labeling experiments,exhibiting that theβ-H in isopropanol is transferred to the a-C of FF by forming six-membered intermediates on the Lewis acidic-basic and Brnsted acidic sites of the UIO-S_(0.6),which is the rate-determining step in the formation of FOL.

Differentiation of Wheat Diseases and Pests Based on Hyperspectral Imaging Technology with a Few Specific Bands

Hyperspectral imaging technique is known as a promising non-destructive way for detecting plants diseases and pests.In most previous studies,the utilization of the whole spectrum or a large number of bands as well as the complexity of model structure severely hampers the application of the technique in practice.If a detection system can be established with a few bands and a relatively simple logic,it would be of great significance for application.This study established a method for identifying and discriminating three commonly occurring diseases and pests of wheat,i.e.,powdery mildew,yellow rust and aphid with a few specific bands.Through a comprehensive spectral analysis,only three bands at 570,680 and 750 nm were selected.A novel vegetation index namely Ratio Triangular Vegetation Index(RTVI)was developed for detecting anomalous areas on leaves.Then,the Support Vector Machine(SVM)method was applied to construct the discrimination model based on the spectral ratio analysis.The validating results suggested that the proposed method with only three spectral bands achieved a promising accuracy with the Overall Accuracy(OA)of 83%.With three bands from the hyperspectral imaging data,the three wheat diseases and pests were successfully detected and discriminated.A stepwise strategy including background removal,damage lesions recognition and stresses discrimination was proposed.The present work can provide a basis for the design of low cost and smart instruments for disease and pest detection.

Promoting the electrochemical hydrogenation of furfural by synergistic Cu^(0)−Cu^(+) active sites

Electrochemical hydrogenation(ECH)of furfural,which uses the proton from water and avoids the usage of gaseous hydrogen and high pressure,is an efficient way to utilize biomass energy.Cu-based catalysts are promising catalysts for the ECH of furfural.However,their active sites and reaction mechanism have not been fully understood yet.This work unveils the active oxidation state of Cu-based electrocatalysts for the ECH of furfural.The co-existence of Cu^(+)and Cu^(0) on the CuO surface under the working potential is confirmed by a series of in situ characterizations.The poisoning experiment shows that the performance decreased heavily after the Cu^(+)was complexed with SCN−,indicating the decisive role of Cu^(+).Finally,the density functional theory(DFT)calculation suggests that the Cu^(0)−Cu^(+)synergistic effect is beneficial to both kinetics and thermodynamics:Cu^(+)accelerates the second step hydrogenation process of furfural,and Cu^(0) reduces the energy barrier for the desorption of furfuryl alcohol.This work demonstrates the synergistic effect of Cu^(0) and Cu^(+)states for the electrochemical hydrogenation of furfural and provides a deeper understanding of the furfural hydrogenation mechanism.
