A benchmark-based method for evaluating hyperparameter optimization techniques of neural networks for surface water quality prediction

Neural networks(NNs)have been used extensively in surface water prediction tasks due to computing algorithm improvements and data *** essential step in developing an NN is the hyperparameter *** practice,it is common to manually determine hyperparameters in the studies of NNs in water resources *** may result in considerable randomness and require significant computation time;therefore,hyperparameter optimization(HPO)is *** study adopted five representatives of the HPO techniques in the surface water quality prediction tasks,including the grid sampling(GS),random search(RS),genetic algorithm(ga.,Bayesian optimization(BO)based on the ga.ssian process(GP),and the tree Parzen estimator(TPE).For the evaluation of these techniques,this study proposed a method:first,the optimal hyperparameter value sets achieved by GS were rega.ded as the benchmark;then,the other HPO techniques were evaluated and compared with the benchmark in convergence,optimization orientation,and consistency of the optimized *** results indicated that the TPE-based BO algorithm was recommended because it yielded stable convergence,reasonable optimization orientation,and the highest consistency rates with the benchmark *** optimization consistency rates via TPE for the hyperparameters hidden layers,hidden dimension,learning rate,and batch size were 86.7%,73.3%,73.3%,and 80.0%,*** the evaluation of HPO techniques directly based on the prediction performance of the optimized NN in a single HPO test,the proposed benchmark-based HPO evaluation approach is feasible and robust.

Prediction on Failure Pressure of Pipeline Containing Corrosion Defects Based on ISSA-BPNNModel

Oil and ga. pipelines are affected by many factors,such as pipe wall thinning and pipeline *** prediction of failure pressure of oil and ga. pipelines can provide technical support for pipeline safety *** at the shortcomings of the BP Neural Network(BPNN)model,such as low learning efficiency,sensitivity to initial weights,and easy falling into a local optimal state,an Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm(ISSA)is adopted to optimize the initial weights and thresholds of BPNN,and an ISSA-BPNN failure pressure prediction model for corroded pipelines is *** 61 sets of pipelines blasting test data as an example,the prediction model was built and predicted by MATLAB software,and compared with the BPNN model,ga.BPNN model,and SSA-BPNN *** results show that the MAPE of the ISSA-BPNN model is 3.4177%,and the R2 is 0.9880,both of which are superior to its comparison *** the ISSA-BPNN model has high prediction accuracy and stability,and can provide support for pipeline inspection and maintenance.

Control of aluminum distribution in ZSM-5 zeolite for enhancement of its catalytic performance for propane aromatization

Regulation of aluminum distribution in zeolite framework is an effective method for improving its catalytic performance for propane aromatization. Herein, we found that recrystallization and post-realuminization of ZSM-5 cannot only create hollow structures to enhance the diffusion ability, but also adjust the content and position of paired aluminum species in its framework. Various characterizations results confirmed that increase of paired aluminum content and inducement of more aluminum atoms sited in the intersection cavity are beneficial to the formation of aromatic products in propane aromatization. As a result, the hollow-structured ZSM-5 zeolite with more paired aluminum (H-200-hollow) showed higher propane conversion and aromatics selectivity than other samples at the same conditions. The catalytic performance of H-200-hollow can be further improved by ion-exchanging with a small amount of ga.III) species. The propane conversion and aromatics selectivity of ga.200-hollow reached as high as 95% and 70%, respectively, at 540 degrees C and 1 atm.

The Origin of Mesozoic A-type Granitoids,Fujian Province,Southeast China:Insights from Geochronology,Mineralogy and Geochemistry

The magma sources,origins and precise forming ages of the miarolite from Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions are still *** results reveal that,miarolites from the Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions yield crystallization ages of~101 and~98 Ma,and they have a high formation temperature(~910℃)and low oxygen fuga.ity value,indicating crystallization condition at low pressure in the upper crust with temperature of 678℃.The Qishan and Kuiqi miarolites are characterized by enrichment in SiO_(2) and high-K alkali,depletion in Ca and Mg,and belong to the high-K weak peraluminous rock *** samples are enriched in HFSEs(i.e.,Ta,Zr and Hf)and LILEs(i.e.,Ba,P and Sr),depleted in Ba and Sr with the nega.ive anomaly of *** the primitive mantle normalized trace element spider diagram,the samples show a right-inclined‘seagull-type’pattern,combined the ratios of(La/Yb)_(N),10000×Al/ga.Rb/Nb and Nb/Ta etc.,they were proved to be alkaline A-type *** the characterize of the trace elements,they were derived from clay-rich source accompanied pelite melting,and subjected to K-feldspar crystallization *** values of ε_(Hf)(t)and tDM2 are distributed in the range of-2.8 to 3.3 with~1.2 ga.and-6.0 to 4.0 with~1.2 ga.revealing that they were generated from the Mesoproterozoic Cathaysia basement *** comprehensive research reveals the Kuiqi and Qishan intrusions derived from crust-mantle mixing and partial melting of the crust,respectively,resulting from lithospheric extension generated by the Paleo-Pacific Plate subducted into the European-Asian Plate.

Flower development and sexual dimorphism in Vernicia montana

The mu oil tree(Vernicia montana Lour.) is a dioecious species, but the genetic mechanisms underlying its phenotypic sexual dimorphism are unclear. In this study, we determined two pivotal phases of sex differentiation of mu oil tree via morphological and histological analyses of unisexual flowers:(Ⅰ) differentiation of male or female primordia to produce staminate flowers(SFs) or transient hermaphrodite flowers(HFs),and(Ⅱ) complete abortion of stamens in transient HFs to generate pistillate flowers(PFs). A total of 1621 sex-biased genes were identified by comparative transcriptome analysis which exhibited elevated rates of protein evolution than unbiased genes. The female-biased genes were enriched in the production of defense compounds while male-biased genes were focused on the production of viable pollens. Transcriptomebased analysis revealed that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs) between PFs and SFs in phase Ⅰ involved in abscisic acid(ABA), auxin(AUX), cytokinin(CK), ethylene(ET), and gibberellin(ga. biosynthesis and signaling showed higher expression levels in males than in females in general, whereas the DEGs involved in jasmonic acid(JA) and salicylic acid(SA) pathways displayed opposite expression patterns. Moreover,differentially expressed endogenous ABA, AUX, ga., JA, and SA exhibited consistent biased expression patterns with the DEGs by UPLC-MSbased analysis. Exogenous application of an anti-ethylene plant growth regulator could promote the development of stamens in PFs and generated HFs. Comparative transcriptomic and hormonal analyses of PFs and SFs in phase Ⅱ indicated an increase in ET concentration when abortion of stamens in PFs occurred. This study suggested that phytohormones play key roles in sex dimorphism and ET may determine the development of stamens in PFs of mu oil tree, which provides an insight into plant sex differentiation mechanisms.

Research on the identification of the production origin of Angelica dahurica using LIBS technology combined with machine learning algorithms

The origin of Angelica dahurica medicinal herbs varies, and their pharmacological effects also differ. In order to achieve rapid and accurate identification of the origin of Angelica dahurica medicinal herbs, this study utilizes laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) technology combined with machine learning algorithms to identify the original source of Angelica dahurica. Sliced samples of Angelica dahurica were taken from four regions: Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, and Sichuan. The spectral data from the sliced samples were used as features, and different algorithms including support vector machine(SVM), back propaga.ion(BP) neural network, genetic algorithm-back propaga.ion(ga.BP) neural network, particle swarm optimization-back propaga.ion(PSO-BP) neural network, convolutional neural network(CNN), and CNN-SVM were employed to classify the origin of Angelica dahurica samples.

Quaternary Ag-In-ga.S(AIGS)quantum dot(QD)is considered a promising,spectral-tunable,and environmentally friendly luminescent display ***,the more complex surface defect states of AIGS QDs resulting from the coexistence of multiple elements lead to a low(ga.ds ZnX_(2)(X=Cl,Br,I)for passivating the surface defects of AIGS QDs to dramatically enhance the PLQY and stability without affecting the crystalline structure and *** show that the addition of ZnCl_(2) during the purified process of AIGS QDs leads to a 3-fold increase of PLQY(from 28.5% to 87%).Impressively,the highest PLQY is up to a recorded value of 92%,which is comparable to typical heavy metal *** dynamics studies have shown that the rapid annihilation process of excitons in treated QDs is *** also confirm that the improvement in PLQY is a result of the effective passivation of the non-coordinating atom on the QD surface by building a new bonding between sulfur dangling and Zn2+.The realization of high PLQY will further promote the application of AIGS QDs in luminescent displays.

OsbZIP01 Affects Plant Growth and Development by Regulating OsSD1 in Rice

Facile synthesis of NiMn2S4 nanoflakes on nickel foam for high-performance aqueous asymmetric supercapacitors

Supercapacitors display promising electrochemical performance with high power density and excellent cycle ***,their low energy density limits their advancement in a broader range of *** enhance their energy density,we proposed self-assembled spinel NiMn2S4nanoflakes grown on nickel foam which we successfully prepared by a facile hydrothermal *** NiMn2S4electrode delivers a high capacitance of 2096.7 F g^(-1)at 1.0 A g^(-1),with an exceptional rate capability(~720.6 F g^(-1)at a very high current density of 100 A g^(-1))and good cycle stability(~85.1%retention of the initial capacitance after 7000 cycles with the Coulombic efficiency around 100%).The as-fabricated asymmetric supercapacitors based on NiMn2S4nanoflakes//active carbon demonstrate an energy density of 73.6 W h kg^(-1)at 800.5 W kg^(-1)and adequate cycling performance of~84.6%capacitance retention at 15 A g^(-1)after 10000 *** results reveal that the nanostructured NiMn2S4is an excellent electrode material for high-performance energy storage applications.
