Low-temperature chlorination roasting technology for the simultaneous recovery of valuable metals from spent LiCoO_(2)cathode material

with the continuous increase in the disposal volume of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),properly recycling spent LIBs has become essential for the advancement of the circular *** study presents a systematic analysis of the chlorination roasting kinetics and proposes a new two-step chlorination roasting process that integrates thermodynamics for the recycling of LIB cathode *** activation energy for the chloride reaction was 88.41 kJ/mol according to thermogravimetric analysis–derivative thermogravimetry data obtained by using model-free,model-fitting,and Z(α)function(αis conversion rate).Results indicated that the reaction was dominated by the first-order(F1)model when the conversion rate was less than or equal to 0.5 and shifted to the second-order(F2)model when the conversion rate exceeded *** conditions were determined by thoroughly investigating the effects of roasting temperature,roasting time,and the mass ratio of nH_(4)Cl to LiCoO_(2).Under the optimal conditions,namely 400℃,20 min,and nH_(4)Cl/LiCoO_(2)mass ratio of 3:1,the leaching efficiency of Li and Co reached 99.43% and 99.05%,*** of the roasted products revealed that valuable metals in LiCoO_(2)transformed into CoCl_(2) and ***,the reaction mechanism was elucidated,providing insights for the establishment of a novel low-temperature chlorination roasting technology based on a crystal structure *** technology can guide the development of LIB recycling processes with low energy consumption,low secondary pollution,high recovery efficiency,and high added value.

A critical challenge hindering the practical application of lithium–oxygen batteries(LOBs)is the inevitable problems associated with liquid electrolytes,such as evaporation and safety *** study addresses these problems by proposing a modified polyrotaxane(mPR)-based solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)design that simultaneously mitigates solvent-related problems and improves ***-SPE exhibits high ion conductivity(2.8×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)at 25℃)through aligned ion conduction pathways and provides electrode protection ability through hydrophobic chain *** this mPR-SPE into solid-state LOBs resulted in stable potentials over 300 *** situ Raman spectroscopy reveals the presence of an LiO_(2)intermediate alongside Li_(2)O_(2)during oxygen *** situ X-ray diffraction confirm the ability of the SPE to hinder the permeation of oxygen and moisture,as demonstrated by the air permeability *** present study suggests that maintaining a low residual solvent while achieving high ionic conductivity is crucial for restricting the sub-reactions of solid-state LOBs.

Effect of gradual increase of salt on performance and microbial community during granulation process

Salinity was considered to have effects on the characteristics,performance microbial communities of aerobic granular *** study investigated granulation process with gradual increase of salt under different *** identical sequencing batch reactors were operated,while the influent of Ra and Rb was subjected to stepwise increments of naCl concentrations(0-4 g/L and 0-10 g/L).The presence of filamentous bacteria may contribute to granules formed under lower salinity conditions,potentially leading to granules *** removal efficiency achieved in both reactors although therewas a small accumulation of nitrite in Rb at later *** removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand(COD),total nitrogen(Tn),and total phosphorus(TP)in Ra were 95.31%,93.70%and 88.66%,while the corresponding removal efficiencies in Rb were 94.19%,89.79%and 80.74%.Salinity stimulated extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)secretion and enriched EPS producing bacteria to help maintain the integrity and stability of the aerobic *** nitrifying bacteria were responsible for nH_(4)^(+)-n and nO_(2)^(-)-n oxidation of salinity systems and large number of denitrifying bacteria were detected,which ensure the high removal efficiency of Tn in the systems.

Occurrence of phthalate esters in the yellow and Yangtze rivers of china:Risk assessment and source apportionment

Phthalate esters(PAEs),recognized as endocrine disruptors,are released into the environment during usage,thereby exerting adverse ecological *** study investigates the occurrence,sources,and risk assessment of PAEs in surface water obtained from 36 sampling points within the Yellow River and Yangtze River *** total concentration of PAEs in the Yellow River spans from124.5 to 836.5 ng/L,with Dimethyl phthalate(DMP)(75.4±102.7 ng/L)and Diisobutyl phthalate(DiBP)(263.4±103.1 ng/L)emerging as the predominant *** exhibit a pattern of upstream(512.9±202.1 ng/L)>midstream(344.5±135.3 ng/L)>downstream(177.8±46.7 ng/L).In the Yangtze River,the total concentration ranges from 81.9 to 441.6 ng/L,with DMP(46.1±23.4 ng/L),Diethyl phthalate(DEP)(93.3±45.2 ng/L),and DiBP(174.2±67.6 ng/L)as the primary *** levels follow a midstream(324.8±107.3 ng/L)>upstream(200.8±51.8 ng/L)>downstream(165.8±71.6 ng/L)*** should be directed towards the moderate ecological risks of DiBP in the upstream of HH,and both the upstream and midstream of CJ need consideration for the moderate ecological risks associated with Di-n-octyl phthalate(DnOP).Conversely,in other regions,the associated risk with PAEs is either low or *** main source of PAEs in Yellow River is attributed to the release of construction land,while in the Yangtze River Basin,it stems from the accumulation of pollutants in lakes and forests discharged into the *** findings are instrumental for pinpointing sources of PAEs pollution and formulating control strategies in the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers,providing valuable insights for global PAEs research in other major rivers.

Concurrently Boosting Activity and Stability of Oxygen Reduction Reaction Catalysts via Judiciously Crafting Fe-Mn Dual Atoms for Fuel Cells

The ability to unlock the interplay between the activity and stability of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)represents an important endeavor toward creating robust ORR catalysts for efficient fuel ***,we report an effective strategy to concurrent enhance the activity and stability of ORR catalysts via constructing atomically dispersed Fe-Mn dualmetal sites on n-doped carbon(denoted(FeMn-DA)-n-C)for both anion-exchange membrane fuel cells(AEMFC)and proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC).The(FeMn-DA)-n-C catalysts possess ample dual-metal atoms consisting of adjacent Fe-n_(4)and Mn-n_(4)sites on the carbon surface,yielded via a facile doping-adsorption-pyrolysis *** introduction of Mn carries several advantageous attributes:increasing the number of active sites,effectively anchoring Fe due to effective electron transfer to Mn(revealed by X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density-functional theory(DFT),thus preventing the aggregation of Fe),and effectively circumventing the occurrence of Fenton reaction,thus reducing the consumption of ***(FeMn-DA)-n-C catalysts showcase half-wave potentials of 0.92 and 0.82 V in 0.1 M KOH and 0.1 M HClO_(4),respectively,as well as outstanding *** manifested by DFT calculations,the introduction of Mn affects the electronic structure of Fe,down-shifts the d-band Fe active center,accelerates the desorption of OH groups,and creates higher limiting *** AEMFC and PEMFC with(FeMn-DA)-n-C as the cathode catalyst display high power densities of 1060 and 746 mw cm^(-2),respectively,underscoring their promising potential for practical *** study highlights the robustness of designing Fe-containing dual-atom ORR catalysts to promote both activity and stability for energy conversion and storage materials and devices.

The dynamic mechanism of short range interactions between u/d quarks remains an open and challenging *** order to reveal this quark dynamics,we perform a systematic analysis of n n,D_(03),and D_(30)systems in the(extended)chiral SU(3)constituent quark *** comparing results calculated with different models and different parameter sets,the effects of one gluon exchange and vector meson exchange terms are carefully *** results indicate that the vector meson exchange interactions dominate the short range interactions between u/d quarks,whereas the small residual one gluon exchange coupling strength is also allowed.

BACKGROUnD The cellular prion protein(PrPC),traditionally associated with neurodegenerative disorders,plays an important role in cancer progression and metastasis by inhibiting *** To investigate the influence of PrPC expression in cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)on patient outcomes follow.ng surgical *** Patients who underw.nt curative surgical resection for either intrahepatic or hilar CCA were enrolled in this retrospective *** on the immunohistochemical staining results of the surgical specimens,patients were categorized into two groups:The low PrPC group(negative or 1+)and the high PrPC group(2+or 3+).Survival analyses,including overall survival and recurrence-free survival,were conducted using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank *** In total,seventy-six patients diagnosed with CCA(39 with intrahepatic and 37 with hilar CCA)underw.nt curative hepatectomy from January 2011 to november *** these patients,38(50%)demonstrated high PrPC expression,whereas the remaining 38(50%)showed low expression of *** a median follow-up period of 31.2 months(range:1 to 137 months),the high PrPC group had a significantly shorter median overall survival than the low PrPC group(40.4 months vs 137.9 months,respectively;P=0.041).Moreover,the high PrPC group had a significantly shorter median recurrence-free survival than the low PrPC group(13.3 months vs 23.8 months,respectively;P=0.026).COnCLUSIOn PrPC expression is significantly associated with early recurrence and decreased survival period in CCA patients follow.ng surgical ***,PrPC may be used as a prognostic factor in treatment planning.

Logic-in-memory cell enabling binary and ternary Boolean logics

In computing systems, processing and memory units have been integrated into logic-in-memory(LiM) to enhance the computational efficiency and performance. LiM has been attempted to perform not only binary but also ternary logic functions, which reduces computing complexity. Herein, we demonstrate a binary and ternary LiM(BT-LiM) cell with eight triple-gated(TG) feedback field-effect transistors(FBFETs) reconfigured into n-or p-channel modes. The TG FBFETs exhibit symmetrical latch-up voltages and an on-current ratio of 1.02 between the n-and p-channel modes, which indicates a high potential for reconfigurable logic applications. The BT-LiM cell can perform YES, nOT, AnD, OR, nAnD, nOR, XnOR, and XOR logic functions in a single cell because of these reconfigurable characteristics. Further, binary and ternary logic functions are realized in the cell without a programming stage, and the cell maintains the results of the logic functions under zero-bias conditions. This study achieves multifunctional LiM that can operate all binary and ternary Boolean logics.
