Molluscicidal activity of chlorophyll extraction against the freshwater snails

Objective:To evaluate the molluscicidal activity of chlorophyll extract as a photodynamic substance against the snails Lymnaea stagnalis,Biomphalaria *** Physa ***:Chlorophyllin was extracted from deep-frozen *** were incubated in chlorophyllin containing water with 2.5,5.0,10.0 and 15.0μg/*** samples were kept in darkness overnight for *** incubation,three samples were irradiated with simulated solar radiation for 3 *** irradiation,the vitality of the organisms was ***:The photodynamically active chlorophyllin,at low concentrations,was able to kill snails within a few hours under exposure of solar ***,it had a killing effect by about 70%and 100%on the snails’eggs and the newly hatched snails,respectively,after 3 h exposure to solar ***:The derivates of chlorophyll was a very interesting substance for photodynamic freshwater snail ***,it might be a promising and cheap new strategy which probably had the potential to replace the synthetic molluscicides for snail control.

Intermittent injections of parathyroid hormone(iPTh) are applied clinically to stimulate bone formation by osteoblasts, although continuous elevation of parathyroid hormone(PTh) primarily results in increased bone resorption. here, we identified Calca,encoding the sepsis biomarker procalcitonin(ProCT), as a novel target gene of PTh in murine osteoblasts that inhibits osteoclast formation. During iPTh treatment, mice lacking ProCT develop increased bone resorption with excessive osteoclast formation in both the long bones and axial skeleton. Mechanistically, ProCT inhibits the expression of key mediators involved in the recruitment of macrophages, representing osteoclast precursors. Accordingly, ProCT arrests macrophage migration and causes inhibition of early but not late osteoclastogenesis. In conclusion, our results reveal a potential role of osteoblast-derived ProCT in the bone microenvironment that is required to limit bone resorption during iPTh.

Multifunctional and diversified agriculture can address diverging pressures and demands by simultaneously enhancing productivity,biodiversity,and the provision of ecosystem *** use of digital technologies can support this by designing and managing resource-efficient and context-specific agricultural *** present the Digital Agricultural Knowledge and Information System(DAKIS)to demonstrate an approach that employs digital technologies to enable decision-making towards diversified and sustainable *** develop the DAKIS,we specified,together with stakeholders,requirements for a knowledge-based decision-support tool and reviewed the literature to identify limitations in the current generation of *** results of the review point towards recurring challenges regarding the consideration of ecosystem services and biodiversity,the capacity to foster communication and cooperation between farmers and other actors,and the ability to link multiple spatiotemporal scales and sustainability *** overcome these challenges,the DAKIS provides a digital platform to support farmers'decision-making on land use and management via an integrative spatiotemporally explicit approach that analyses a wide range of data from various *** approach integrates remote and in situ sensors,artificial intelligence,modelling,stakeholder-stated demand for biodiversity and ecosystem services,and participatory sustainability impact assessment to address the diverse drivers affecting agricultural land use and management design,including natural and agronomic factors,economic and policy considerations,and socio-cultural preferences and ***,the DAKIS embeds the consideration of ecosystem services,biodiversity,and sustainability into farmers'decision-making and enables learning and progress towards site-adapted small-scale multifunctional and diversified agriculture while simultaneously supporting farmers'objectives and societal demands.
