Digital maps of soil properties are now widely ***-users now can access several digital soil mapping(DSM)products of soil properties,produced using different models,calibration/training data,and covariates at various spatial scales from global to ***,there is an urgent need to provide easy-to-understand tools to communicate map uncertainty and help end-users assess the reliability of DSM products for use at local *** this study,we used a large amount of hand-feel soil texture(HFST)data to assess the performance of various published DSM products on the prediction of soil particle size distribution in central *** tested four DSM products for soil texture prediction developed at various scales(global,continental,national,and regional)by comparing their predictions with approximately 3200 HFST observations realized on a 1:50000 soil survey conducted after release of these DSM *** used both visual comparisons and quantitative indicators to match the DSM predictions and HFST *** comparison between the low-cost HFST observations and DSM predictions clearly showed the applicability of various DSM products,with the prediction accuracy increasing from global to regional *** simple evaluation can determine which products can be used at the local scale and if more accurate DSM products are required.

Is chronic hepatitis c virus infection a risk factor for breast cancer?

AIM:To evaluate the prevalence of breast tumors in adult females with chronic hepatitis c virus(HcV) ***:Prospective,single-center study,based on female outpatients consulting in a liver unit,for 1 *** study group included females with present and/or past history of chronic infection by *** with spontaneous recovery were *** hepatitis had been proved by liver biopsy in the majority of cases and/or biological markers of inflammation and *** control group included female patients with other well documented chronic liver diseases:chronic hepatitis B,alcoholic liver disease,autoimmune hepatitis,hemochromatosis,non alcoholic liver disease,chronic *** patients were prospectively questioned during consultation about past breast history and follow-up by ***:Breast carcinoma was recorded in 17/294 patients with HcV infection(5.8%,95% cI:3.1-8.4) vs 5/107 control patients(4.7%,95% cI:0.67-8.67).Benign tumors of the breast(mastosis,nodules,cysts) were recorded in 75/294 patients with HcV infection(25.5%,95% cI:20.5-30.5) vs 21/107(19.6%,95% cI:12.1-27.1) in the control *** lesion was noted in 202 patients with HcV(68.7%,95% cI:63.4-74) vs 81 control patients(75.7%,95% cI:67.6-83.8).Despite a trend to an increased prevalence in the group with HcV infection,the difference was not significant compared to the control group(P=NS).In patients over 40 years,the results were,respectively,as follows:breast cancer associated with HcV:17/266 patients(6.3%,95% cI:3.4-9.3) vs 5/95 patients(5.2%,95% cI:0.7-9.7) in the control group;benign breast tumors:72/266 patients with HcV infection(27%,95% cI:21.7-32.4) vs 18/95 patients(18.9%,95% cI:11-26.8) in the control group;no breast lesion 177/266(66.5%,95% cI:60.9-72.2) in patients with HcV infection vs 72/95(75.7%,95% cI:67.1-84.4) in the control *** differences were not significant(P=NS).cONcLUSION:These results suggest that chronic HcV infectio

Background:Adults with obesity may display disturbed cardiac chronotropic responses during cardiopulmonary exercise testing,which relates to poor cardiometabolic health and an increased risk for adverse cardiovascular *** is unknown whether cardiac chronotropic incompetence(cI)during maximal exercise is already present in obese adolescents and,if so,how that relates to cardiometabolic ***:Sixty-nine obese adolescents(body mass index standard deviation score=2.23±0.32,age=14.1±1.2 years;mean±SD)and 29lean adolescents(body mass index standard deviation score=-0.16±0.84,age=14.0±1.5 years)performed a maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing from which indicators for peak performance were *** resting heart rate and peak heart rate were used to calculate the maximal chronotropic response ***(lipid profile,glycemic control,inflammation,and leptin)was studied in fasted blood samples and during an oral glucose tolerance test within obese *** analyses were applied to examine associations between the presence of cI and blood or exercise capacity parameters,respectively,within obese ***:cI was prevalent in 32 out of 69 obese adolescents(46%)and 3 out of 29 lean adolescents(10%).c-reactive protein was significantly higher in obese adolescents with cI compared to obese adolescents without cI(p=0.012).Furthermore,peak oxygen uptake and peak cycling power output were significantly reduced(pcents with cI *** adolescents without *** chronotropic index was independently related to blood total cholesterol(standardized coefficientβ=-0.332;p=0.012)and c-reactive protein concentration(standardized coefficientβ=-0.269;p=0.039).conclusion:cI is more common in the current cohort of obese adolescents,and is related to systemic inflammation and exercise intolerance.

Degradation of PAI/PEI Enamel under High Temperature (Up to 400°c)

This work deals with the understanding of the degradation of the primary insulation (PEI/PAI) of rotating machines working temporarily under high-temperature. The main domain of application of these motors is the smoke extraction either from tunnels or underground parking when a fire occurs. In such a critical situation, the internal temperature of the motor winding may reach temperatures up to 400°c. Under such very high thermal stresses, the behaviour of the electrical insulation is not well understood. This work proposes an analysis of the decomposition gases under very high temperatures and the corresponding degradation pathway. A simple method is proposed to identify whether the insulation of such motors has been strongly damaged during the working time at very high temperatures, thus allowing estimating if it can still continue to operate.

Study of Simple Hydrodynamic Solutions with the Two-Relaxation-Times Lattice Boltzmann Scheme

For simple hydrodynamic solutions, where the pressure and the velocity arepolynomial functions of the coordinates, exact microscopic solutions are constructedfor the two-relaxation-time (TRT) Lattice Boltzmann model with variable forcing andsupported by exact boundary schemes. We show how simple numerical and analyticalsolutions can be interrelated for Dirichlet velocity, pressure and mixed (pressure/tangential velocity) multi-reflection (MR) type schemes. Special care is taken toadapt themfor corners, to examine the uniqueness of the obtained steady solutions andstaggered invariants, to validate their exact parametrization by the non-dimensionalhydrodynamic and a “kinetic” (collision) number. We also present an inlet/outlet“constant mass flux” condition. We show, both analytically and numerically, that thekinetic boundary schemes may result in the appearance of Knudsen layers which arebeyond the methodology of the chapman-Enskog analysis. Time dependent Dirichletboundary conditions are investigated for pulsatile flow driven by an oscillating pressuredrop or forcing. Analytical approximations are constructed in order to extend thepulsatile solution for compressible regimes.
