AIM: To investigate the liver stiffness measurement (LSM) applicability and variability with reference to three probe positions according to the region of liver biopsy. METHODS: The applicability for LSM was defined as at least 10 valid measurements with a success rate greater than 60% and an interquartile range/median LSM < 30%. The LSM variability compared the inter-position concordance and the concordance with FibroTest. RESULTS: Four hundred and forty two consecutive patients were included. The applicability of the anterior position (81%) was significantly higher than that of the reference (69%) and lower positions (68%), (both P = 0.0001). There was a signif icant difference (0.5 kPa, 95% CI 0.13-0.89; P < 0.0001) between mean LSM estimated at the reference position (9.3 kPa) vs the anterior position (8.8 kPa). Discordance between positions was associated with thoracic fold (P = 0.008). The discordance rate between the reference position result and FibroTest was higher when the 7.1 kPa cutoff was used to define advanced fibrosis instead of 8.8 kPa (33.6% vs 23.5%, P = 0.03).CONCLUSION: The anterior position of the probe should be the fi rst choice for LSM using Fibroscan, as it has a higher applicability without higher variability compared to the usual liver biopsy position.

天山造山带是古生代多期碰撞增生作用的产物,其确切的造山时代是当前争议较多的热点问题。分布在西南天山的科克苏-穹库什太剖面经历了复杂的构造变形,最明显的两期变形事件分别为朝北的推覆作用和 NE-SW 韧性走滑作用。本剖面可分为伊犁岩浆岛弧、伊犁结晶基底、高压变质杂岩三个岩石-构造单元。野外可见黑云母花岗闪长岩侵入到绿片岩相变质岩中,岩脉切穿绿片岩中面理构造。通过锆石 U-Pb LA-ICPMS 测年,科克苏剖面钾长花岗岩的年龄为341±6Ma 和338±8Ma,穹库什太黑云母花岗闪长岩的年龄为313±4Ma。其中,花岗闪长岩发生了黑云母定向排列,通过对黑云母进行^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar 测年,获得坪年龄为263.4±0.6Ma,表明该花岗闪长岩受过后期热事件的干扰。地球化学分析表明,黑云母花岗闪长岩属于钙碱性系列,Nb 和 Ta 含量低而 Rb,Ba 和 Th 含量很高,与俯冲作用有关的岛弧岩浆岩地球化学组成非常相似。结合前人对该地区高压变质岩、花岗岩和火山岩的研究成果,本文提出,西南天山俯冲-碰撞造山作用发生在晚石炭世之前,研究区后碰撞区域走滑作用标志着西南天山碰撞造山作用在二叠纪之前全部结束。

AIM:To evaluate the effect of different elbow and forearm positions on radiocapitellar ***:Fifty-one healthy volunteers were recruited and bilateral elbow radiographs were taken to form a radiologic *** elbow radiographs were taken with the elbow in five different positions:Maximal extension and forearm in neutral,maximal flexion and forearm in neutral,elbow at 90° and forearm in neutral,elbow at 90° and forearm in supination and elbow at 90° and forearm in pronation.A goniometer was used to verify the accuracy of the elbow's position for the radiographs at a 90° *** radiocapitellar ratio(RCR)measurements were then taken on the collected radiographs using the Slice Omatic *** orthopedic resident performed the radiographic measurements on the 102 elbows,for a total of 510 lateral elbow radiographic *** paired t-tests and Pearson coefficients were used to assess the differences and correlations between the RCR in each ***:Mean RCR values were-2% ± 7%(maximal extension),-5% ± 9%(maximal flexion),and for elbow at 90° and forearm in neutral-2% ± 5%,supination 1% ± 6% and pronation 1% ± 5%.ANOVA analyses demonstrated significant differences between the RCRin different elbow and forearm *** t-tests confirmed significant differences between the RCR at maximal flexion and flexion at 90°,and maximal extension and *** Pearson coefficient showed significant correlations between the RCR with the elbow at 90°-maximal flexion;the forearm in neutralsupination;the forearm in ***:Overall,95% of the RCR values are included in the normal range(obtained at 90° of flexion)and a value outside this range,in any position,should raise suspicion for instability.

Few studies have analyzed the effect of ve- nous thromboembolism （VTE） events on the prognosis of pancreatic cancer, but their results were conflicting. The pres- ent study was undertaken to determine the effect of VTE on pancreatic adenocarcinoma （PA） outcomes. METHODS： All consecutive patients diagnosed with PA from May 2004 to January 2012 in a single oncology center were retrospectively studied. Clinical, radiological and histologi- cal data at time of diagnosis or within the first 3 months after surgery, including the presence （＋） or absence （-） of VTE were collected. VTE was defined as radiological evidence of either pulmonary embolism （PE）, deep venous thrombosis without infection or catheter-related thrombosis. PA with and without PE was compared for survival using the Kaplan-Meier method to estimate overall survival. RESULTS： Among 162 PA patients with a median follow-up of 15 （3-92） months after diagnosis, 28 demonstratedVTE （＋）. PA patients with and without PE were similar for age, American Society of Anesthesiologist score, body mass index, and histo- ry of treatment. The distribution of cancer stages was similarbetween the two groups VTE （＋） and VTE （-）. The median du- ration of survival was significantly worse in the VTE （＋） group vs VTE （-）（12 vs 18 months, P=0.010）. In multivariate analysis, the presence of VTE and surgical treatment were independent prognostic factors for overall survival. CONCLUSION： VTE （＋） at time of diagnosis or within the first 3 months after surgery during treatment is an indepen- dent factor of poor prognosis in PA.

The distribution of the metallic trace elements (MTE) Zn, Pb and Cd in a sludge-amended soil and their partitioning in specific soil microystems are studied by comparing their contents in amended and control soils. This comparison is achieved at the metric scale of the bulk soil horizons and at the micrometric scale of the weathering microsites (weathering rock-forming minerals and their specific weathered products). Solar flares and coronal mass ejections(CMEs)are thought to be the most powerful events on the *** can release energy as high as~10^(32)erg in tens of minutes,and also can release solar energetic particles(SEPs)into interplanetary *** explore global energy budgets of solar major eruptions that occurred on 2017 September 6,including the energy partition of a powerful solar flare,and the energy budget of the accompanying CME and *** the wavelength range shortward of~222 nm,a major contribution of the flare radiated energy is in the soft X-ray(SXR)0.1-7 nm *** flare energy radiated at wavelengths of Lyαand mid-ultraviolet is larger than that radiated in the extreme ultraviolet wavelengths,but it is much less than that radiated in the SxR *** total flare radiated energy could be comparable to the thermal and nonthermal *** energies carried by the major flare and its accompanying CME are roughly equal,and they are both powered by the magnetic free energy in the NOAA AR ***,the CME is efficient in accelerating SEPs,and the prompt component(whether it comes from the solar flare or the CME)contributes only a negligible fraction.

Particulate matter in ambient air constitutes a complex mixture of fine and ultrafine particles composed of various chemical compounds including metals, ions, and organics. A multidisciplinary approach was developed by studying physico-chemical characteristics and mechanisms involved in the toxicity of particulate atmospheric pollution. PM0.3-2.s and PM2.5 including ultrafine particles were sampled in Dunkerque, a French industrialized seaside city. PM samples were characterized from a chemical and toxicological point of view. Physico-chemical characterization evidenced that PM2.5 comes from several sources： natural ones, such as soil resuspension and marine sea-salt emissions, as well as anthropogenic ones, such as shipping traffic, road traffic, and industrial activities. Human BEAS-2B tung cells were exposed to PM0.3-2.5, or to the Extractable Organic Matter （EOM） of PM0.3-2.5 and PM2.s. These exposures induced several mechanisms of action implied in the genotoxicity, such as oxidative DNA adducts and DNA Damage Response. The toxicity of PM-EOM was higher for the sample including the ultrafine fraction （PM2.5） containing also higher concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These results evidenced the major role of organic compounds in the toxicity of PM.
