The continuously growing importance of batteries for powering(hybrid)electric vehicles and storing renewable energy has prompted a renewed focus on lithium-metal batteries(LMBs)in recent years,as its high theoretical specific capacity of about 3860 mA h g^(-1) and very low redox potential(-3.04 V *** standard hydrogen electrode)promise substantially higher energy densities compared to current lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)[1].however,lithium metal electrodes face severe challenges associated with the risk of dendritic lithium deposition and the high reactivity with traditional organic liquid electrolytes,resulting in a continuous loss of electrochemically active lithium and a relatively low Coulombic efficiency[2].To address these challenges,solid inorganic and polymer electrolytes have emerged as a potentially saferalternative.

We describe an innovative technique of ultrasound-guided greater occipital nerve (GON) hydrodissection for treatment of cervicogenic headache and occipital neuralgia. A 35-year-old female presented to the pain clinic with severe chronic cervicogenic headache impacting her sleep, work and activities of daily living. Conservative management had failed to adequately resolve her pain. Ultrasound-guided suboccipital hydrodissection of the greater occipital nerve was performed with the patient in the prone position. After skin sterilization, the linear ultrasound transducer was oriented in a transverse orientation at the level of the C2-C3 vertebrae. The needle was advanced from medial to lateral “in-plane” under direct ultrasound visualization, until the needle was positioned at the C2 lamina. After confirming the needle tip position, 10 ml of hydrodissection fluid was injected with good visualization of distribution of the solution. The patient described immediate and significant improvement in her symptoms. She reported a sustained decrease in pain scores when followed up in the pain clinic at six and twelve weeks respectively. To the best of our knowledge this is the first application of ultrasound-guided hydrodissection of the GON for cervicogenic headache. It offers a novel, safe and effective technique to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of a common pain condition.

Neck pain is common and has multiple sources, but correct diagnosis and matched treatment provide the best outcomes. The first description of ultrasound-guided dorsal scapular nerve blockade using a single-shot local anesthetic technique for the diagnosis and treatment of neck pain is reported. A 38-year-old female patient presented with neck pain, and the history and clinical examination strongly suggested myofascial pain affecting the middle scalene muscle. The pain had been unresponsive to pharmacological therapy or physiotherapy. After identifying the dorsal scapular nerve (DSN) in the body of the middle scalene muscle, an ultrasound-guided nerve block was performed using a single injection of local anesthetic to alleviate the patient’s pain. It has been demonstrated that the dorsal scapular nerve can be identified in the neck and effectively blocked using ultrasound guidance. This technique has the potential to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neck pain originating from the middle scalene muscle.

Antioxidant peptides encrypted in flaxseed proteome:An in silico assessment

Flaxseed proteins and antioxidant peptides(AP)encrypted in their sequences were analysed in silico with a range of bioinformatics tools to study their physicochemical properties,allergenicity,and *** proteases(digestive,plant and microbial sources)were assessed for their ability to release known APs from 23 mature flaxseed storage proteins using the BIOPEP *** families of proteins identified were predominantly globulins,oleosins,and small amount of ***,253 APs were identified from these *** peptides were released by enzymatic hydrolysis from the globulins than those from oleosins and *** with other enzymes studied,the plant proteases(papain,ficin,and bromelain)were found to be superior to releasing APs from the flaxseed *** of toxicity by ToxinPred showed that none of the peptides released was *** of the APs showed structural features that are important for antioxidation,including relatively low molecular weight(dipeptides and tripeptides only);amphipathic properties(hydrophobicity range of-0.5 to+0.5);relatively low Boman index(≤2);broad range of pI(3.7-10.8),and an abundance of antioxidant amino acid residues(*** acid and histidine).This study demonstrate the suitability of flaxseed proteins as a source of APs.

Male dominance hierarchies have been studied in many animals but rarely in bats(Chiroptera).The dominance rank of social animals may dictate access to resources and mates;therefore,it has important implications for an individual's fitness and is crucial for successful captive *** January and December 2018,at both Bristoi Zoo Gardens(Bristol,UK)and Jersey Zoo(Jersey,British Isles),we observed 19 male Livingstone's fruit bats Pteropus livingstonii using focal follows for 345 h overall,noting the outcome of all agonistic *** recorded instigators of interactions,along with winners and losers,and analyzed these data using the R-package"EloRating"to create Elo-rating temporal plots of dominance *** used generalized linear mixed models and multiple linear regression to analyze interaction data and test hypotheses regarding predictors of dominance rank,frequency of agonistic interaction,and choice of interaction *** was positively correlated with dominance rank up to around year 9,when an asymptote was *** ranked bats instigated the most agonistic interac-tions,and largely directed these interactions at bats with much lower rankings than *** were extremely stable throughout the data collection period at both *** conclude that Livingstone's fruit bats have a stable linear dominance hierarchy,with high-ranking,typ-ically older males instigating the most interactions with lowest ranking males to secure dominance *** study adds to the limited discourse on Pteropus social behaviors,indicating that some bat species may have social systems similar in complexity to some nonhuman primates.

Models establishing relationships between electrical resistivity and dopant densities of silicon wafers/bricks are not applicable for compensated-Si, such as upgraded metallurgical grade silicon UMG-Si. To date, no satisfactory theoretical model has been able to explain precisely the variety of new experimental results and observations related to compensated-Si. In this study, a new approach considering equilibrium ionisation constants according to electrolyte theory was proposed, which reproduce, for single-doped Si, Thurber＇s curves of charge carrier＇s mobilities. When more than one doping species are involved, as in compensated-Si, a numerical algorithm has to be used for solving multiple equilibrium systems. The study of such systems demonstrates a particular behaviour known from buffered solutions. Equilibrium constants were calculated from thermodynamic properties of chemical compounds, and a new general theory was proposed using available knowledge of electrochemistry （Nernst equation, Butler-Volmer equation）. Considering that the silicon/dopant systems constitute a weak electrolyte solid solution, it is concluded that the electrolyte solution theory provides a good physical model and mathematical framework to get a better understanding of solar cell＇s behaviour.

Transformer‐rectifier flux pumps are DC superconducting power supplies capable of charging superconducting magnets to high currents and stored magnetic ***,we demonstrate a full‐wave superconducting flux pump assembled from high‐temperature superconducting(hTS)wire that utilizes superconducting switches controlled by applied magnetic field.A negative DC offset occurs in the superconducting secondary of the circuit during operation which is related to the output load current.A feedback control system is proposed and demonstrated to account for the negative DC *** the primary current proportional to the load current during operation allowed for the maximum output of the flux pump to be increased from 35 A to more than 275 *** results are reproduced using a coupled electrical‐and magnetic–circuit model formulated in the MATLAB Simulink®package.
