We report the first genetic linkage m.p of the catfish Lophiosilurus alexandri,a South Am.rican threatened and prom.sing aquaculture catfish *** the progeny of three full-sib fam.lies,with 141,74,and 49 offspring,respectively,we could genotype 2351 SNP m.rkers using the ddRAD technology,shared by the m.le and the fem.le m.ps *** averaged,fem.le and m.le m.ps spanned a total length of 2201.3 cm.2481.9 cm.and 1872.8 cm.respectively,and com.rehended the expected 27 linkage groups according to the karyotype inform.tion of the species(2n=54).The recom.ination rate was nearly twice higher in the fem.le than in the m.le *** average m.p was used to estim.te the historical effective population size(Ne)of the species from.linkage disequilibrium.between pairs of SNPs using parental individuals and revealed a rem.rkable drop in Ne about 20-25 generations in the *** construction of the biggest artificial reservoir in Latin Am.rica and associated nutrient retention is pointed as a possible reason for such a reduction and suggests a reevaluation of the conservation status of the *** current m.p lays the groundwork for understanding the genetic basis of econom.cally im.ortant traits in breeding program. and will be useful for the genom. assem.ly of this im.ortant com.ercial species.

Leaching of dissolved organic m.tter from.seagrass leaf litter and its biogeochem.cal im.lications

Dissolved organic m.tter（dom） represents a significant source of nutrients that supports the m.crobial-based food web in seagrass ecosystem.. However, there is little inform.tion on how the various fractions of dom from.seagrass leaves contributed to the coastal biogeochem.cal cycles. To address this gap, we carried out a 30-day laboratory cham.er experim.nt on tropical seagrasses Thalassia hem.richii and Enhalus acoroides. After 30 days of incubation, on average 22% carbon（C）, 70% nitrogen（N） and 38% phosphorus（P） of these two species of seagrass leaf litter was released. The average leached dissolved organic carbon（DOC）, dissolved organic nitrogen（DON） and dissolved organic phosphorus（DOP） of these two species of seagrass leaf litter accounted for 55%, 95% and 65% of the total C, N and P lost, respectively. In the absence of m.crobes, about 75% of the total am.unt of DOC, m.nosaccharides（m.HO）, DON and DOP were quickly released via leaching from.both seagrass species in the first 9 days. Subsequently, little dom was released during the rem.inder of the experim.nt. The leaching rates of DOC, DON and DOP were approxim.tely 110, 40 and 0.70 μm.l/（g·d）. Leaching rates of dom were attributed to the nonstructural carbohydrates and other labile organic m.tter within the seagrass leaf. Thalassia hem.richii leached m.re DOC, DOP and m.HO than E. acoroides. In contrast, E. acoroides leached higher concentrations of DON than T. hem.richii, with the overall leachate also having a higher DON： DOP ratio. These results indicate that there is an overall higher am.unt of dom leachate from.T. hem.richii than that of E. acoroides that is available to the seagrass ecosystem. According to the logarithm.c m.del for dom release and the in situ leaf litter production（the Xincun Bay, South China Sea）, the seagrass leaf litter of these two seagrass species could release approxim.tely 4×10~3 m.l/d DOC, 1.4×10~3 m.l/d DON and 25 m.l/d DOP into the seawater. Increased Susceptibility to Pneum.coccal Disease in Sjogren Syndrom. Patients

Susceptibility to pneum.coccal infections in Sj?gren syndrom. (SS)―an autoim.une inflam.atory disease―patients is not well known, although these patients frequently develop respiratory diseases. The relative risk of developing pneum.coccal disease in SS patients versus diabetes m.llitus type 2 (Dm.2) patients, m.tched by age, gender, and length of enrolm.nt was studied. From.January 1998 to Septem.er 2013 the records of Donostia University Hospital were analyzed, which am.ng other patient’s data includes: num.er and type of hospital adm.ssions and num.er and type of laboratory determ.nations. Streptococcus pneum.niae isolates of the sam. serotype causing recurrent infections were characterized by PFGE. The study com.rised 127 patients in the SS group (69 prim.ry and 58 secondary) and 127 in the Dm.2 group as control. In 12 SS patients, (9.4%) 22 pneum.coccal disease episodes were detected. Two patients (1.6%) with a single episode each one were observed am.ng Dm.2 patients, p = 0.01, RR for SS patients 6 (95% CI 1.4 to 26.3). No differences could be dem.nstrated between the two groups of patients in infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus agalactiae. m.st pneum.coccal serotypes in SS patients belonged to the 13-valent (50%) and 23-valent (75%) anti-pneum.coccal vaccine. SS patients are associated with and increased risk of suffering from.pneum.coccal disease. Vaccination should be considered in this group of patients.

A Review on Electrodynam.c Influence of Atm.spheric Processes to the Ionosphere

This work is an attem.t to critically analyze the existing theoretical m.dels of the im.act of earthquake preparation processes on the state of the earth’s atm.sphere and ionosphere in the zone of growing seism.c activity, as well as the m.chanism. of form.tion and transfer of disturbances in various m.dia over the earthquake center. The determ.ning factor (criterion) of the analysis is the degree of com.liance of the sim.lation results with experim.ntal data obtained at various phases of earthquake developm.nt by direct and rem.te diagnostic m.thods using ground and aerospace technologies. The key role is played by the m.del’s com.liance with the results of m.asuring electric fields and currents in the near-ground atm.sphere and ionosphere, sm.ll-scale ionospheric inhom.geneities and correlated field-aligned currents and electrom.gnetic ULF/ELF em.ssions. A full-fledged m.del should also explain the origin of such seism.c related phenom.na as the generation in the troposphere and over-horizon propagation of pulsed VHF radiation, therm.l effects and associated IR em.ssions as well as the m.dification of plasm. distribution in the D, E and F layers of the ionosphere. The use of this criterion in the analysis allowed us to identify a theoretical m.del that m.st fully describes the totality of the above-m.ntioned experim.ntal data within a single physical m.chanism. This is an electrodynam.c m.del based on the perturbation of the conductivity current in the global atm.sphere—ionosphere electric circuit due to the injection of charged aerosols into the atm.sphere during the preparation and developm.nt of an earthquake. The present paper describes this m.del and the form.tion m.chanism. of related phenom.na in the atm.sphere and ionosphere, which can be considered as short-term.precursors to earthquakes.

Therm.lum.nescence study of rare earth ion (Dy^(3+)) doped LiF:m. crystals grown by EFG technique

This work describes investigation of radiation dosim.try characteristics of m.gnesium.（m.） doped lithium.fluoride （LiF） crystals co-doped with different concentrations of dysprosium.（Dy）. These crystals were grown by edge defined film.fed crystal growth （EFG） tech- nique. Therm.lum.nescence （TL） m.asurem.nts were m.de on as grown （AG） and annealed （AN） crystals after they were irradiated with a gam.a dose of 15 Gy. The influence and advantage of optim.zed Dy^3＋ concentration in enhancing the therm.lum.nescence （TL） properties of LiF：m. sam.les were discussed. The norm.lized peak height of the annealed crystals was nearly 3 tim.s that of the as grown crystals for the particular concentration sam.les irradiated with Co6~ gam.a source showed linearity up to 10 Gy. Therm.lum.nescence signal observed over a period of one m.nth showed negligible fading. Therm.lum.nescence glow curve structure of optim.zed phosphor rem.ined stable for higher doses of gam.a rays of 103 Gy. Glow curve was analyzed using com.uter glow curve deconvolution （CGCD） m.thod and trapping param.- ters were calculated.

The collision of a supercooled water droplet with a surface result an object creates ice accretion on the surface. The icing problem.in any cold environm.nts leads to severe dam.ges on aircrafts, and a lot of studies on prevention and prediction techniques for icing have been conducted so far. Therefore, it is very im.ortant to know the detail of freezing m.chanism.of supercooled water droplets to im.rove the anti-and de-icing devices and icing sim.lation codes. The icing m.chanism.of a single supercooled water droplet im.acting on an object surface would give us great insights for the purpose. In the present study, we develop a dual-lum.nescent im.ging technique to m.asure the tim.-resolved tem.erature of a supercooled water droplet im.acting on the surface under different tem.erature conditions. We apply this technique to m.asure the exact tem.erature of a water droplet, and to discuss the detail of the freezing process.

The photo-Fenton reaction is a key source of the highly reactive hydroxyl radical（HOU） that is produced by the reaction of sim.ltaneous photo-induced generation of Fe^（2＋）-dissolved organic m.tter（dom） with H_2O_2 in sunlit surface waters as well as in the treatm.nt of organic pollutants in the advanced oxidation processes（AOPs）.Concentrations of both H_2O_2 and Fe^（2＋）-dom were dependent on tim. and total solar intensity flux,and their levels were highest in the diurnal sam.les collected at noon com.ared with the sam.les collected during the period before sunrise and after sunset.H_2O_2 and Fe^（2＋）-dom concentrations during m.nthly readings were also found higher in com.arison with the diurnal sam.les,shortly before sunrise or after sunset.A π-electron bonding system.is form.d between Fe and the functional groups in dom（Fe-dom）,through electron donation from.the functional groups of dom to an em.ty d-orbital of *** π-electron is loosely bound and is highly susceptible to a rapid excitation upon light exposure that will provide better understanding of the form.tion of aqueous electrons,superoxide radical anions,H_2O_2 and finally,photo-Fenton reactions,*** results im.ly that sim.ltaneous generation of H_2O_2 and Fe^（2＋）-dom upon sunlight exposure during the daytim. is m.st likely to be the key photo-Fenton reaction pathway,taking place in surface waters.
