Background The response to antenatal care(ANC)for maternal and offspring outcomes,especially in pregnant women has been thoroughly ***,despite the number of interventional studies on the treatment of sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine combination(IPTp-SP)uptake,the point in point cases of the positive responses of ANC in improving health conditions of pregnant women are not found in the *** sources This review collected ANC responses to the positive health outcomes for pregnant women with malaria,the challenges faced regarding IPTp-SP uptake during ANC visits and the role of ANC in preventing and controlling malaria in sub-Saharan *** elucidated ANC and uptake of optimal intermitent preventive IPTp-SP and further described ANC as a tool for heterogeneity for malaria *** ANC is seen as a microscope to malaria in pregnacy,maternal iron deficiency and anemia checkpoints,ANC and malaria treatment strategies,and ANC and the use of insecticide treated nets(ITN).The review further discussed ANC attendance influencing factors,limitations to ANC implications and the prospects in ANC visits on preventing malaria in *** A declining trend of malaria transmission in Africa has been observed in recent ***,the burden of malaria in pregnancy remains a health *** rate of SP resistance,low uptake of IPTp-SP,low LLINs distribution,late gestational ANC visits and low turnaround for optimal ANC visits for first time mothers’aggrevated the malaria-endemic settings among pregnant women in sub-Saharan Africa.

To stay competitive, the mobile telecommunication companies spend millions of Ghana cedi each year on building long-term relationships with their customers. Marketing managers are constantly challenged with the problem of where to channel the limited resources in order to retain existing customers. This study approaches the customer retention problem in the mobile phone sector from a behavioural perspective, applying the Behavioural Perspective Model as the main analytical framework and further exploits some other factors that influence customer retention. The model includes a set of pre-behaviour and post-behaviour factors to study consumer choice, and explains its relevant drivers in a viable and comprehensive way, grounded in radical behaviourism. Data for the analysis were collected from tertiary students from Accra and Takoradi. Data collected were analysed using the multinomial regression technique. Analysis of the data revealed that the Behaviour setting factor is the only significant element in Behaviour Perspective Model. Further exploitation of behaviour situation revealed that the number of networks a customer uses, previous experience of a customer and customer’s intention are significant factors in determining customer retention in Ghana’s mobile telecommunication industry.

Landscapes are characterized by a wide variation, both spatially and temporally, of tolerance and response to natural processes and anthropogenic stress. These tolerances and responses can be analyzed through individual landscape parameters, such as soils, vegetation, water, etc., or holistically through ecosystem or watershed studies. However, such approaches are both time consuming and costly. Soil erosion and landscape evolution modeling provide a simulation environment in which both the short- and long-term consequences of land-use activities and alternative land use strategies can be compared and evaluated. Such models provide the foundation for the development of land management decision support systems.;is a state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary volume addressing the broad theme of soil erosion and landscape evolution modeling from different philosophical and technical approaches, ranging from those developed from considerations of first-principle soil/water physics and mechanics to those developed empirically according to sets of behavioral or empirical rules deriving from field observations and measurements. This cross-sectional descriptive study assessed general environmental health literacy among students focusing on their knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors regarding the environmental health, stewardship, and sustainability, using a questionnaire consisting of 35 core questions from the Centers for Diseases Control (CDCs). Students (N = 185) from three high schools in the district were asked through their class teachers to voluntarily complete the questionnaire. Results indicated that about 41% (n = 77) of the students lacked knowledge regarding potential sources of radiation exposure and 70% (n = 133) lacked knowledge regarding radon gas being the number one risk factor for lung cancer among non-smokers. Additionally, the ANOVA test indicated significant knowledge differences among school location. Students in school #1, located in the most affluent area, had significantly higher knowledge scores (M = 4.39) than school #2 located in a moderately affluent area (M = 3.50). Furthermore, we found significant differences in ethnicity on the environmental health attitude of the high school students. Black students reported lower positive environmental health attitude (M = 29.86) than White students (M = 32.63), Hispanic students (M = 32.33) and Asian students (M = 33.84). These findings demonstrated knowledge deficiency in some key areas in environmental health particularly the environmental diseases and conditions caused by manmade hazards such as pesticides, chemicals, radiation, air, water, and soil pollution. Targeted educational interventions to increase awareness and understanding of health effects, exposure to environmental hazards and carcinogens as well as risks associated to direct exposure as in this study, radon and radiation, should be provided to high school students. Potential Bacterial Health Risk Posed to Consumers of Fresh Coconut (<i>Cocos nucifera</i>L.) Water

Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) water is a refreshing drink consumed mostly directly from the fruit. However, in recent times, consumers in Accra prefer to have it transferred into plastic bags for later consumption;this favours a high risk of bacterial contamination. Since it is rich in nutrient, it may become unwholesome with possible high bacteria loads. However, its use for managing and preventing diarrhoeal diseases and the report that coconut water contains anti-bacterial proteins, suggests a bacteria growth inhibition potential for it. Therefore, the propensity of fresh coconut water to support the growth of two pathogenic bacteria was studied. Using mostly optical density measurement, and where possible, growth parameters and bacteria loads were estimated for the growth of two gram negative bacteria in fresh, stored and sterilized coconut water, and also in Luria-Bertani (LB) broth as a control. The study revealed that fresh coconut water is a drink favourable for the survival and growth of Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. It supported the growth of these bacteria recording lag times of 101.4 ± 1.00 minutes for E. coli and 154.8 ± 0.45 minutes for K. pneumoniae, and high loads of viable cells of ~ 2.27 × 108 cfu/mL and > 2.83 × 108 cfu/mL at the stationary phase for E. coli and K. pneumoniae respectively. These and other growth parameters in coconut water were comparable to those in Luria-Bertani (LB) broth medium. However, when autoclaved, gamma irradiated or stored at 4℃ for two weeks or more, the growth of these bacteria becomes extremely limited. Fresh coconut water will support the growth of these bacteria to high and infective load of viable cell if it becomes contaminated with and is kept at ambient temperatures for two or more hours. Thus, it will be safer to consume coconut water directly from the fruit, since there is a high risk for bacteria contamination associated with the transfer and storage in other containers.

目的:探讨肝脏转移性消化道肝样腺癌(hepatoid adenocarcinoma)病例的临床病理学和免疫表型特征。方法:回顾性分析2009年1月至2019年1月在鼓楼医院诊治的8例肝脏转移性消化道肝样腺癌患者的临床资料、病理组织学形态以及免疫组织化学(EnVision法)表达特点。结果:患者男性5例,女性3例,平均年龄66岁。原发于远端食管1例,原发于右半结肠1例,其余6例均原发于胃。4例患者治疗前血清甲胎蛋白(AFP)升高,2例血清AFP水平正常,2例结果不详。8例患者初诊时均有肝转移。镜下观察:原发部位肿瘤组织由肝样分化区构成,伴或不伴普通腺癌成分,肝样分化区组织学特点似典型肝细胞肝癌(hepatocellular carcinoma,HCC)。而肝脏转移灶组织学形态以肝样分化为主,与HCC难以鉴别。免疫表型上,原发灶与转移灶肝样分化区域不同程度表达HCC的标志物如Glypican 3、AFP、SALL4和HepPar-1;同时也表达消化道腺癌的标志物,如细胞角蛋白(CK)19、CDX-2和Villin等。结论:消化道肝样腺癌临床症状不特异,有较强的侵袭和转移能力。当以肝脏转移灶为首发症状时,仅根据组织病理学特征很难与肝脏原发性HCC相鉴别。肝脏转移性肝样腺癌需要综合临床、影像学、组织病理学以及免疫组织化学检查等结果才能够得出准确诊断。
