The 7th International Eclogite Conference was held in Seggau, near Leibnitz, Austria, from July 3-9, 2005, and was accompanied by inter-conference and post-conference field trips to the Tauren Window of the Alps. The Conference provided a comprehensive scientific forum in the spirit of previous conferences of this series with extended contributions related to highand ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism, and ultra-deep subduction of continental material to Earth＇s mantle. The first workshop of the new Task Group Ⅱ-10 （UDCCS--Ultra-Deep Continental Crust Subduction）, under the auspices of International Lithosphere Program, was held in conjunction with the conference. The Task Group Ⅱ-10 was established in 2005 to be continued to 2009. The conference was organized by Karl Franzens University of Graz, Austria, and supported by the following sponsors： Bundesministerium fur Bildungund Kultur, Fa. Bruker-AXS, Fa. The Alpe Arami garnet peridotite of the Southern Swiss Alps is associated with eclogites and included within quartzofeldspathic gneisses. Controversy has swirled around the depth of origin of this massif since the 1970s when application of the newly-developed technique of thermobarometry suggested a depth of last equilibration of greater than 120 kin. Such controversy accelerated in 1996 when we reported microstructural evidence of extensive precipitation of ilmenite and spinel from olivine and proposed a much greater depth of origin. Subsequent experiments showed that it was possible to dissolve the observed amount of TiO2 in olivine, but only at depths in excess of 300 kin, agreeing with the earlier proposal. In 1999 we added new, independent, evidence concerning exsolution of high-pressure clinoenstatite from diopside that in-and-of-itself required a depth of origin in excess of 250 km. Subsequently, we also added evidence from the surrounding eclogites of very high pressures and experimental evidence that the pyroxenes included in the amoeboid garnets of this rock had exsolved from a majoritic parent at perhaps even greater pressures. In refutation of the first two of these observations, suggestions were made that （i） we had made a serious error in our estimate of how much ilmenite was present in olivine （and therefore how much TiO2 had been dissolved in olivine）; （ii） the ilmenite had not been exsolved from olivine but former titanian clinohumite had been present and broke down to yield the ilmenite; （iii） the pyroxene exsolved from diopside had been high-temperature clinoenstatite. In all three of these cases, the alternatives offered were claimed to be accommodated at low pressures. Here we review the essence of this controversy and show that the only scenario that can explain all of the data is the one that we originally proposed; indeed, the more recent data have strongly supported that interpretation and pushed the minimum origin of the massif to depths ap

The study of δ13CCpDB （Pee Dee Belemnite） and nitrogen contents in 1 to 5-pm-diameter microdinmonds included in garnets from the qnartz-feldspathic gneisses （Erzgehirge, Germany） was performed in situ with the Nano-scale Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer. The results revealed that there were two stages of diamond crystallization from a C-O-H supeeritical fluid rich in biogenic carbon and diverse minor elements of crustal origin. The δ13CCpDB Of the Erzgebirge diamond of the first stage falls in the range -17‰ to 19‰, with an average value of -17.8‰; the average content of nitrogen is 820 ppm. Diamonds of the second stage are characterized by δ13CPDB=-21.5‰ to -25.5‰, with an average value of -23.24‰; the average nitrogen content is non-homogeneously scattered from 740 ppm to 3 370 ppm among 6 diamonds situated in garnets within the same polished rock slide. Both diamond of the first stage and diamond of the second stage carbon reservoirs belong to biogenic matter, therefore confirming deep subduction of the continental crust sediments and their subsequent exhumation during the Variscan orogeny.

Necrophagous blowflies(Diptera:Calliphoridae)such as Calliphora vicina,a cold-tolerant species,and L ucilia serie ata,a warm-adapted species,are pioneer carrion・*** these two species have different temperature preferences,larvae aggregate actively and often feed simultaneously on *** hypothesis to be tested was that *** benefits from the association with *** at lower temperatures(i.e.,15℃)and that *** derives greater benefits from this association at higher temperatures(i.e.,28℃).Therefore,both species were raised at these two constant temperatures from first instars to adults under three different conditions:monospecific low-density,monospecific high-density,and heterospecific *** time until larval migration,surface area of puparia,and survival rates were determined for each *** between these fitness-related traits were found between species,temperatures,group densities,and species *** 28°C,*** larvae bred in heterospecific groups migrated significantly earlier and in higher numbers than that under same density conspecific con・ditions,with a lower mortality *** 15°C,both species benefited from high-density heterospecific associations,expressed by faster development and larger *** conclusion,necrophagous larvae benefited from heterospecific aggregations at suboptima 1 temperatures by adapting their migration time to that of the faster *** temperature changes throughout the day and over the year,the beneficiary of such a collective association also *** costs involved and deviations to the temperature-size rule highlight the complexity of the carrion ecosystem.

Dental stem cells(DSCs)are self-renewable cells that can be obtained easily from dental tissues,and are a desirable source of autologous stem *** use of DSCs for stem cell transplantation therapeutic approaches is attractive due to their simple isolation,high plasticity,immunomodulatory properties,and multipotential *** appropriate scaffolds loaded with favorable biomolecules,such as growth factors,and cytokines,can improve the proliferation,differentiation,migration,and functional capacity of DSCs and can optimize the cellular morphology to build tissue constructs for specific *** enormous variety of scaffolds have been used for tissue engineering with *** these,the scaffolds that particularly mimic tissue-specific micromilieu and loaded with biomolecules favorably regulate angiogenesis,cell-matrix interactions,degradation of extracellular matrix,organized matrix formation,and the mineralization abilities of DSCs in both in vitro and in vivo *** represent a promising cell source for tissue engineering,especially for tooth,bone,and neural tissue *** purpose of the present review is to summarize the current developments in the major scaffolding approaches as crucial guidelines for tissue engineering using DSCs and compare their effects in tissue and organ regeneration.

Higher education has been in a financially precarious position for many years –facing either a total transformation or elimination. Tuition increases and fewercollege-age students from shifting demographics are primary reasons for thefinancial distress. Alternative financial stability models have assumed linearvariable relationships and improperly calculate the probability of *** have historically relied upon models such as those developed byEdmit and the Department of Education which are inadequate at separatingfinancially sound from unsound universities. We used an Automated MachineLearning approach utilizing multiple models to explain the relationship betweenmetrics and the probability of default/closure allowing for more informedmanagerial decisions. This research, although applied to the homogeneousgroup of small liberal arts universities, can be applied to online and stateuniversities and will allow the opportunity to take preventive steps to mitigatethe likelihood of closing due to financial distress.
