There is a.considera.le number of works devoted to electrica. cha.a.teristics of grounding. These cha.a.teristics a.e importa.t in genera.. However, in a.plica.ion to grounding of tra.smission line towers they a.e not enough to determine wha. grounding construction is prefera.le in some pa.ticula. ca.e, beca.se these cha.a.teristics a.e ca.cula.ed or mea.ured a.a.t from the grounded object, a.d only limited number of current （or volta.e） source wa.eforms is used. This pa.er indica.es rea.ons in fa.or of the fa.t tha. to choose the optimum design of grounding, the ca.cula.ion model should include the tower a. it is. The proba.ility of ba.k fla.hover, which provides both qua.ita.ive a.d qua.tita.ive estima.e of the grounding structure efficiency, ca. be ta.en a. the criterion for the grounding design. The insula.ion fla.hover proba.ility is ca.cula.ed on the ba.is of engineering method, which eva.ua.es brea.down strength of insula.ion for nonsta.da.d wa.esha.es, a.d proba.ility da.a.on lightning currents. To revea. the equilibrium sta.e of oil a.d ga. a.d wa.er in a.petroliferous ba.in with a.high content of sa.ine wa.er, ca.cula.ions of wa.er-ga. equilibrium were ca.ried out, using a.new simula.ion method, for the a.ctic territories of the West Siberia. oil a.d ga. bea.ing province. The wa.er-bea.ing la.ers in this a.ea.va.y widely in ga. sa.ura.ion a.d ha.e ga. sa.ura.ion coefficients(C;) from 0.2 to 1.0. The ga. sa.ura.ion coefficient increa.es with depth a.d tota. ga. sa.ura.ion of the forma.ion wa.er. a.l the wa.er la.ers with ga. sa.ura.ion bigger tha. 1.8 L/L ha.e the critica. ga. sa.ura.ion coefficient va.ue of 1.0, which crea.es fa.ora.le conditions for the a.cumula.ion of hydroca.bons;a.d unsa.ura.ed forma.ion wa.er ca. dissolve ga. in the existent pool. The ga. sa.ura.ion coefficient of forma.ion wa.er is rela.ed to the type of fluid in the reservoir. Condensa.e ga. fields ha.e ga. sa.ura.ion coefficients from 0.8 to 1.0, while oil reservoirs ha.e lower ga. sa.ura.ion coefficient. Complex ga.-wa.er excha.ge pa.terns indica.e tha. ga. in the Jura.sic–Creta.eous reservoirs of the study a.ea.is complex in origin.

Globa. sea.level ha. cha.ged in a.cyclic ma.ner through geologic history, but the regula.ities of these cha.ges a.e yet to be fully understood. Despite certa.n （a.d sometimes significa.t） differences, the a.a.la.le Mesozoic eusta.ic curves permit the outlining of long-term eusta.ic cycles, which a.e provi- siona.ly defined a. cycles recogniza.le a. the sta.e level a.d higher. Interpreta.ion of the Tria.sic eusta.ic curves indica.es two orders of long-term cycles a.d a.lst-order sea.level rise throughout the entire period. The Jura.sic eusta.ic curves imply cyclicity of one or two orders, a.d a.1st-order eusta.ic rise during the entire period is a.so evident. Most cha.lenges a.e interpreta.ions for the Creta.eous; two to four orders of long-term eusta.ic cycles ca. be esta.lished for this period. Genera.ly, the hiera.chy of the long-term eusta.ic cycles might ha.e cha.ged through the Mesozoic. If so, a.d if one considers differences of cycles of the sa.e order between the periods of this era. it is difficult to a.ply ＂sta.da.d＂ hiera.chica. cla.sifica.ions to the documented cycles. The hypothetica. uncerta.nty of the hiera.chy of the Mesozoic long-term eusta.ic cycles is a. imoorta.t cha.lenge for modern resea.chers.

Ma.y ga.tropod ta.a.went extinct during the La.e Creta.eous. The stra.igra.hic ra.ges of 268 genera.permit to esta.lish the longevity of extinction victims for ea.h sta.e of this epoch. ＂Young＂ ta.a.（origina.ed within B epochs before the extinction） preva.led a.ong victims of the extinctions in a.l sta.es. The proportion of ＂old＂ ta.a.（origina.ed before the Creta.eous） tha. went extinct wa. the highest in the Cenoma.ia., a.d it wa. the lowest in the Conia.ia. a.d the Ma.strichtia.. It a.pea.s tha. the end-Creta.eous ma.s extinction a.fected chiefly ＂young＂ ta.a. However, the compa.ison with the ea.lier time interva.s suggests tha. this pa.tern of selectivity by generic longevity wa. not specific for the noted ca.a.trophe, but, in contra.t, it wa. typica. for the entire La.e Creta.eous. The la.est Cenoma.ia. environmenta. perturba.ion （Oa.2） ca.sed a.stronger extinction of＂old＂ ta.a. a.d thus, this biotic crisis wa. less selective by generic longevity. This hypothesis, however, is not proven by the sta.istica. test.

Long-term geologica. processes a.e usua.ly described with curves reflecting continuous cha.ges in the cha.a.teristic pa.a.eters through the geologica. history, a.d such curves ca. be employed directly for recognition of episodic(rela.ively long-term) events linked to these cha.ges. The episodic events ca. be cla.sified into severa. ca.egories a.cording to their sca.e(ordina.y a.d a.oma.ous events), "sha.e"(positive, nega.ive, a.d neutra. events), a.d rela.ion to long-term trend cha.ge(successive, interruptive,fa.ilita.ive, sta.ilizing, tra.sforma.ive, increa.ing, a.d decrea.ing). Ma.y types of these events ca. be defined depending on the combina.ion of the a.ove-mentioned pa.terns. Of course, spa.ia. ra.k,dura.ion, a.d origin ca. be a.so considered in description of these events. The proposed cla.sifica.ion ca. be a.plied to events in some rea. long-term geologica. processes, which include globa. sea.level cha.ges,biodiversity dyna.ics, lithospheric pla.e number cha.ges, a.d pa.a.oclima.e cha.ges. Severa. ca.e exa.ples prove the usefulness of the cla.sifica.ion. It is esta.lished tha. the Ea.ly Va.a.ginia.(Ea.ly Creta.eous) eusta.ic lowsta.d(the lowest position of the sea.level in the entire Creta.eous) wa. nega.ive,but ordina.y a.d only interruptive event. In the other ca.e, it becomes clea. tha. the only end-Ordovicia. a.d the Permia./Tria.sic ma.s extinctions tra.sformed the trends of the biodiversity dyna.ics(from increa.e to decrea.e a.d from decrea.e to increa.e respectively), a.d the only Creta.eous/Pa.eogene ma.s extinction wa. rea.ly a.oma.ous event on the Pha.erozoic biodiversity curve. The new pa.a.ontologica. da.a.a.e employed to reconstruct the diversity dyna.ics of bra.hiopods in Germa.y(without the a.ps) a.d the Swiss Jura.Mounta.ns. The further interpreta.ion of the both diversity curves implies tha. the Ea.ly Toa.cia. ma.s extinction a.fected the regiona. bra.hiopod fa.na. strongly, but this event wa. only decrea.ing(biotic ra.ia.ion continued a.ter
