Hepatitis B virus markers in hepatitis B surface antigen negative patients with pancreatic cancer:Two case reports

BACKGROUND Hepatitis B virus(HBV)is a known carcinogen that may be involved in pancreatic cancer *** of HBV biomarkers[especially expression of HBV regulatory X protein(HBx)]within the tumor tissue may provide direct support for ***,there is still a lack of such reports,particularly in non-endemic regions for HBV *** we present two cases of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma,without a history of viral hepatitis,in whom the markers of HBV infection were detected in blood and in the resected pancreatic *** SUMMARY The results of examination of two patients with pancreatic cancer,who gave informed consent for participation and publication,were the source for this *** standards of care,special examination to reveal occult HBV infection was *** included blood tests for HBsAg,anti-HBc,anti-HBs,HBV DNA,and pancreatic tissue examinations with polymerase chain reaction for HBV DNA,pregenomic HBV RNA(pgRNA HBV),and covalently closed circular DNA HBV(cccDNA)and immunohistochemistry staining for HBxAg and *** subjects were operated on due to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and serum HBsAg was not ***,in both of them anti-HBc antibodies were detected in blood,although HBV DNA was not *** of the resected pancreatic tissue gave positive results for HBV DNA,expression of HBx,and active cellular proliferation by Ki-67 index in both ***,HBV pgRNA and cccDNA were detected only in case *** These cases may reflect potential involvement of HBV infection in the development of pancreatic cancer.

Simulation of Combustion Flow of Methane Gas in a Premixed Low-Swirl Burner using a Partially Premixed Combustion Model

Because the rotational current stabilizes the flame by creating a recirculation zone,it may increase the risk of *** this reason,low-spin combustion is used to stabilize the flame while preventing ***,in this study,the combustion flow of methane gas in a low-swirl burner is simulated using a partially premixed combustion ***,the fuel flow rate is considered *** research parameters include swirl angle(θ=35°–47°),equivalence ratio(φ=0.6–0.9)and inlet axial flow radius(R=0.6–0.7)and effect of these parameters on temperature distribution,flame length,flame rise length,velocity field,and streamlines of the number of pollutant species are *** contours of streamline,temperature distribution,and velocity distribution are also presented for analysis of flow *** results show that with increasing the fuel-air ratio,the strength of the axial flow decreases,and the position of the maximum flame temperature shifts toward the inlet of the *** results also reveal that by increasing the swirl angle of the flow,the position of the minimum velocity value(opposite to the direction of the axis)tends towards the *** results also indicate that the maximum temperature of the combustion chamber increases with increasing the swirl angle,and inθ=35°,the maximum temperature is 1711℃and inθ=41°,this value is 1812℃.Finally,by increasing the swirl angle toθ=47°,the maximum flame temperature position is found at a considerable distance from the inlet and is 1842℃.

High-temperature transport properties of BaSn_(1−x)Sc_(x)O_(3−δ) ceramic materials as promising electrolytes for protonic ceramic fuel cells

Protonic ceramic fuel cells(PCFCs)offer a convenient means for electrochemical conversion of chemical energy into electricity at intermediate temperatures with very high *** BaCeO_(3)-and BaZrO_(3)-based complex oxides have been positioned as the most promising PCFC electrolytes,the design of new protonic conductors with improved properties is of paramount *** the present work,we studied transport properties of scandium-doped barium stannate(Sc-doped BaSnO_(3)).Our analysis included the fabrication of porous and dense BaSn_(1−x)Sc_(x)O_(3−δ)ceramic materials(0≤x≤0.37),as well as a comprehensive analysis of their total,ionic,and electronic conductivities across all the experimental conditions realized under the PCFC operation:both air and hydrogen atmospheres with various water vapor partial pressures(p(H2O)),and a temperature range of 500–900℃.This work reports on electrolyte domain boundaries of the undoped and doped BaSnO_(3)for the first time,revealing that pure BaSnO_(3)exhibits mixed ionic–electronic conduction behavior under both oxidizing and reducing conditions,while the Sc-doping results in the gradual improvement of ionic(including protonic)conductivity,extending the electrolyte domain boundaries towards reduced *** latter property makes the heavilydoped BaSnO_(3)representatives attractive for PCFC applications.

Plasma-Assisted Chemistry in High-Speed Flow

Fundamental problems related to the high-speed combustion are analyzed. The result of plasma-chemical modeling is presented as a motivation of experimental activity. Numerical simulations of the effect of uniform non-equilibrium discharge on the premixed hydrogen and ethylene-air mixture in supersonic flow demonstrate an advantage of such a technique over a heating. Experimental results on multi-electrode non-uniform discharge maintenance behind wallstep and in cavity of supersonic flow are presented. The model test on hydrogen and ethylene ignition is demonstrated at direct fuel injection to low-temperature high-speed airflow.

Flexible surface-enhanced Raman scattering-active substrates based on nanofibrous membranes

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering （SERS） has emerged as an excellent analytical tool for the effective detection and fingerprint identification of various chemicals. Recently, significant progress has been made in the fabrication of SERS-active substrates using simple, inexpensive, and affordable methods. The full potential of universal SERS diagnostics will likely be realized with the development of approaches and devices capable of effectively detecting analytes on various surfaces as well as in multicomponent media. In addition, the combination of implantable or wearable SERS-active substrates and remote portable devices enables real-time diagnostics that ideally fit the concept of personalized medicine. In this paper, we summarize recent achievements in fabricating flexible SERS substrates made of cellulose paper, polymer membranes, and textile fibrous films. Emphasis is placed on the in-situ extraction and detection of various chemicals in real-world surfaces and complex media using flexible nanofibrous SERS platforms. The potential SERS applications and future perspectives in on-site diagnostics are also discussed.

The report presents an analysis of a unique data set demonstrating the influence of geocryological processes on the 75-km Chara-China Railway track(northern Transbaikal region).The originality of these investigations lies in the study of the influence of natural processes on the road in the absence of any repair works or protective and compensating measures for a long period of time(1998~2014).These conditions allowed assessment of the actual damage to the railroad.

2019—2023年,俄罗斯青年群体的政治认同发生了比较大的变化,年轻一代开始参与社会政治进程。当前形势下,俄罗斯的国家政治制度能否延续,取决于年轻一代能否以政治精英制定的“游戏规则”为基础融入政治生活。在确定政治日程目标和设置政治日程的背景下,关注青年人对自己在国家政治体系中地位的变化,以及跟踪研究青年人对俄罗斯国际地位和作用的态度变化至关重要。分析国家政治领导层发布的战略性文件,对比俄罗斯新一代人的期望与政府的官方表述可以发现,俄罗斯青年和政治精英对国家未来形象的认知存在差异。出现这种情况的原因在于,大多数青年人对社会国家~((1))和最低限度参与国家对外政策的要求很高,导致家长式统治、社会认同程度低等问题。当代俄罗斯青年政治认同高质量转型的先决条件正在形成,这为解决政府与社会互动的深层问题提供了可能性。原文发表于俄罗斯《俄罗斯与亚太》杂志2023年第4期~((2)),经作者同意在《西伯利亚研究》以中文刊发。

Microscopic theory of exciton and trion polaritons in doped monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides

We study a doped transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) monolayer in an optical *** the microscopic theory,we simulate spectra of quasiparticles emerging due to the interaction of material excitations and a high-finesse optical mode,providing a comprehensive analysis of optical spectra as a function of Fermi energy and predicting several modes in the strong light-matter coupling *** addition to exciton-polaritons and trion-polaritons,we report polaritonic modes that become bright due to the interaction of excitons with free *** large doping,we reveal strongly coupled modes corresponding to excited trions that hybridize with a cavity *** also demonstrate that the increase of carrier concentration can change the nature of the system’s ground state from the dark to the bright *** results offer a unified description of polaritonic modes in a wide range of free electron densities.

Neutron irradiation effects on mechanical properties of ITER specification tungsten

In this contribution,we present the results of recent neutron irradiation campaign performed in the material test reactor BR2(Belgium)on pure *** have applied various irradiation conditions and sample geometry to assess the effect of neu-tron irradiation on hardness,bending,tensile and fracture mechanical *** investigated material is a commercially pure tungsten plate fabricated according to the international thermonuclear experimental reactor(ITER)specification for the application in the divertor plasma-facing *** neutron irradiation covers a large span of temperatures and damage doses,ranging from 600 to 1200°C and 0.1-1 *** obtained mechanical properties were analyzed to deduce the shift of the ductile to brittle transition temperature(DBTT)applying bending,tensile and fracture toughness-testing ***,a correlation of the fracture toughness with the change of the hardness was *** obtained results are compared with the already published results on another ITER specification grade produced in the form of a *** presented and discussed results show that the performance of the compared grades in terms of the irradiation-induced embrittlement is similar,and that the irradiation in the high-temperature region(600-800°C)causes a considerable DBTT shift already at 0.2-0.5 dpa.
