Simulation of Combustion Flow of Methane Gas in a Premixed Low-Swirl Burner using a Partially Premixed Combustion Model

Because the rotational current stabilizes the flame by creating a recirculation zone,it may increase the risk of *** this reason,low-spin combustion is used to stabilize the flame while preventing ***,in this study,the combustion flow of methane gas in a low-swirl burner is simulated using a partially premixed combustion ***,the fuel flow rate is considered *** research parameters include swirl angle(θ=35°–47°),equivalence ratio(φ=0.6–0.9)and inlet axial flow radius(R=0.6–0.7)and effect of these parameters on temperature distribution,flame length,flame rise length,velocity field,and streamlines of the number of pollutant species are *** contours of streamline,temperature distribution,and velocity distribution are also presented for analysis of flow *** results show that with increasing the fuel-air ratio,the strength of the axial flow decreases,and the position of the maximum flame temperature shifts toward the inlet of the *** results also reveal that by increasing the swirl angle of the flow,the position of the minimum velocity value(opposite to the direction of the axis)tends towards the *** results also indicate that the maximum temperature of the combustion chamber increases with increasing the swirl angle,and inθ=35°,the maximum temperature is 1711℃and inθ=41°,this value is 1812℃.Finally,by increasing the swirl angle toθ=47°,the maximum flame temperature position is found at a considerable distance from the inlet and is 1842℃.

Boron nitride nanotube growth via boron oxide assisted chemical vapor transport-deposition process using LiNO3 as a promoter

High-purity straight and discrete multiwalled boron nitride nanotubes （BNNTs） were grown via a boron oxide vapor reaction with ammonia using LiNO3 as a promoter. Only a trace amount of boron oxide was detected as an impurity in the BNNTs by energy-dispersive X-ray （EDX） and Raman spectroscopies. Boron oxide vapor was generated from a mixture of B, FeO, and MgO powders heated to 1,150 ℃, and it was transported to the reaction zone by flowing ammonia. Lithium nitrate was applied to the upper side of a BN bar from a water solution. The bar was placed along a temperature gradient zone in a horizontal tubular furnace. BNNTs with average diameters of 30-50 nm were mostly observed in a temperature range of 1,280-1,320 ℃. At higher temperatures, curled polycrystalline BN fibers appeared. Above 1,320 ℃, the number of BNNTs drastically decreased, whereas the quantity and diameter of the fibers increased. The mechanism of BNNT and fiber growth is proposed and discussed.

We construct a Landau-Ginzburg thermodynamic potential,and the corresponding phase diagram for pristine and slightly doped bismuth ferrite,a ferroelectric antiferromagnet at room *** potential is developed based on new X-ray and neutron diffraction experiments complementing available *** demonstrate that a strong biquadratic antiferrodistortive-type coupling is the key to a quantitative description of Bi_(1−x)La_(x)FeO_(3) multiferroic phase diagram including the temperature stability of the antiferromagnetic,ferroelectric,and antiferrodistortive phases,as well as for the prediction of novel intermediate structural ***,we show that“rotomagnetic”antiferrodistortive-antiferromagnetic coupling is very important to describe the ferroelectric polarization and antiferrodistortive tilt behavior in the R3c phase of BiFeO_(3).The Landau-Ginzburg thermodynamic potential is able to describe the sequence of serial and trigger-type phase transitions,the temperature-dependent behavior of the order parameters,and the corresponding susceptibilities to external *** can also be employed to predict the corresponding ferroelectric and antiferrodistortive properties of Bi_(1−x)La_(x)FeO_(3) thin films and nanoparticles by incorporating the gradient and surface energy terms that are strongly dependent on the shape,size,and preparation method.

Objective:To determine the diagnostic value of ultrasound signs of urinary stones less than or equal to 10 mm and to determine clinico-radiological variants of ureteric ***:A total of 455 ultrasound investigations were performed in patients referring to emergency department with urolithiasis and symptoms suspected of ureteric colic between January 2021 and May *** addition to microscopic evaluation of urine sediment to detect different crystals and non-contrast spiral computed tomography to detect stones,B-mode and color Doppler sonography was performed to assess the presence of acoustic shadow(AS)and twinkle artifacts(TA)as possible signs of stone(s)in ***:While the sensitivity and specificity of AS and TA were higher than 90%in patients with stones greater than 5 mm;positive prognostic values of these parameters were found to be extremely low for stones with sizes of 1-3 mm with specificity and sensitivity values not exceeding 53%.The sensitivity and specificity of AS and TA in the upper and lower ureters were higher for stones greater than or equal to 5 than for compared to those less than 5 *** the same time,the diagnostic values of TA and AS for middle ureter stones were very *** most prevalent clinico-radiological variants of ureteric colic were types I,III,and v being observed in 39%,28% and 21% cases,***:Our results demonstrate that TA and AS parameters seem to have a very low sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of urinary stones less than 5 *** diagnostic value of TA and AS increase significantly in stones greater than or equal to 5 ***,clinicians need to be very careful for overestimating the diagnostic values of TA and AS for stones less than 5 mm and non-contrast spiral computed tomography must be the method of choice for patients presenting to emergency department with ureteric colic.

Genes associated with testicular germ cell tumors and testicular dysgenesis in patients with testicular microlithiasis

Testicular microlithiasis （TM） is one of the symptoms of testicular dysgenesis syndrome （TDS）. TM is particularly interesting as an informative marker of testicular germ cell tumors （TGCTs）. KIT ligand gene （KITLG）, BCL2 antagonist/killer 1 （BAK1）, and sprouty RTK signaling antagonist 4 （SPRY4） genes are associated with a high risk of TGCTs, whereas bone morphogenetic protein 7 gene （BMP7）, transforming growth factor beta receptor 3 gene （TGFBR3）, and homeobox D cluster genes （HOXD） are related to TDS. Using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP） analysis, we investigated allele and genotype frequencies for KITLG （rs995030, rs1508595）, SPRY4 （rs4624820, rs6897876）, BAK1 （rs210138）, BMP7 （rs388286）, TGFBR3 （rs12082710）, and HOXD （rs17198432） in 142 TGCT patients, 137 TM patients, and 153 fertile men （control group）. We found significant differences in the KITLG GG_rs995030 genotype in TM （P= 0.01） and TGCT patients （P = 0.0005） compared with the control. We also revealed strong associations between KITLGrs1508595 and TM （G allele, P = 0.003; GG genotype, P= 0.01） and between KITLG_rs1508595 and TGCTs （G allele, P-- 0.0001; GG genotype, P = 0.0007）. Moreover, there was a significant difference in BMP7_rs388286 between the TGCT group and the control （T allele, P = 0.00004; TT genotype, P = 0.00006） and between the TM group and the control （T allele, P= 0.04）. HOXDalso demonstrated a strong association with TGCTs （rs17198432 A allele, P = 0.0001; AA genotype, P = 0.001）. Furthermore, significant differences were found between the TGCT group and the control in the BAK1_rs210138 G allele （P= 0.03） and the GG genotype （P= 0.01）. KITLG and BMP7genes, associated with the development of TGCTs, may also be related to TM. In summary, the KITLG GG_rs995030, GG_rs1508595, BMP7 TT_rs388286, HOXD AA_rs17198432, and BAK1 GG_rs210138 genotypes were associated with a high risk of TGCT development.

We study a doped transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) monolayer in an optical *** the microscopic theory,we simulate spectra of quasiparticles emerging due to the interaction of material excitations and a high-finesse optical mode,providing a comprehensive analysis of optical spectra as a function of Fermi energy and predicting several modes in the strong light-matter coupling *** addition to exciton-polaritons and trion-polaritons,we report polaritonic modes that become bright due to the interaction of excitons with free *** large doping,we reveal strongly coupled modes corresponding to excited trions that hybridize with a cavity *** also demonstrate that the increase of carrier concentration can change the nature of the system’s ground state from the dark to the bright *** results offer a unified description of polaritonic modes in a wide range of free electron densities.

Study of the Electric Explosion of Titanium Foils in Uranium Salts

The results of experiments on electroexplosion titanic foil in water solutions of salts of uranium are presented in this paper. It is shown, that as a result of electroexplosion occurs appreciable (to 20%) distortion of an initial isotope parity of uranium. In the most solution parts, observable isotope distortion occurs in favour of enrichment by 235U. At the moment of electroexplosion it was not observed an appreciable stream of the neutrons. By means of Cs label and by methods by α, β, γ-spectrometry and mass-spectrometry it have been shown, that isotope distortion occurs at the expense of non-uniform “disappearance” of both isotopes from a solution. The isotope distortion leads to infringement of the 234Th secular equilibrium in the uranyl solution. The equilibrium infringement between the 234Th and 234mPa, i.e. within the proper thorium decay chain, was observed also. The assumption about that the effects are caused of low-energy nuclear reactions at the moment of electroexplosion is suggested.

Boundary Eigenvalue Problem for Maxwell Equations in a Nonlinear Dielectric Layer

The propagation of TM-polarized electromagnetic waves in a dielectric layer filled with lossless, nonmagnetic, and isotropic medium is considered. The permittivity in the layer defines by Kerr law. We look for eigenvalues of the problem and reduce the issue to the analysis of the corresponding dispersion equation. The equivalence of the boundary eigenvalue problem and the dispersion equation is proved. We show that the solution of the problem exists and from dispersion equation it can be numerically obtained. Using this solution the components of electromagnetic field in the layer can be numerically obtained as well. Transition to the limit in the case of a linear medium in the layer is proved. Some numerical results are presented also.

The state of the art in optical biosensing is focused on reaching high sensitivity at a single wavelength by using any type of optical *** common strategy,however,disregards the promising possibility of simultaneous measurements of a bioanalyte’s refractive index over a broadband spectral ***,we address this issue by introducing the approach of in-fibre multispectral optical sensing(IMOS).The operating principle relies on detecting changes in the transmission of a hollow-core microstructured optical fibre when a bioanalyte is streamed through it via liquid *** offers a unique opportunity to measure the refractive index at 42 wavelengths,with a sensitivity up to ~3000 nm per refractive index unit(RIU)and a figure of merit reaching 99 RIU^(−1) in the visible and near-infra-red spectral *** apply this technique to determine the concentration and refractive index dispersion for bovine serum albumin and show that the accuracy meets clinical needs.
