The aim of this paper is to obtain relevant sets of collision cross sections of the parent ions in low pressure discharges in argon, oxygen, and nitrogen, i.e., Ar＋ in Ar, O2＋ in O2 and N2＋ in N2. These ion data are first discussed and then validated from comparisons between the calculated transport coefficients and those measured in the literature. The elastic momentum transfer collision cross sections are determined from a semi-classical approximation for the phase shift calculation based on a 12-6-4 inter-particle potential while ion transport coefficients are determined versus the reduced electric field from Monte Carlo simulations.

In any solar adsorption refrigeration system,there are three major components:a solar collector adsorbent bed,a condenser and an *** of those components operate at different temperature levels.A solar collector with a tubular adsorbent configuration is proposed and numerically *** this study,a nonlinear auto-regressive model with exogenous input is applied for the prediction of adsorbent bed temperature during the heating and desorption *** developed neuronal model uses the MATLAB Network toolbox to obtain a better configuration network,applying multilayer feed-forward,the TANSIG transfer function,and the back-propagation learning *** input parameters are ambient temperature and the uncontrolled natural factor of solar *** output network contains a variable representing the adsorbent bed *** values obtained from the network model were compared with the experimental data,and the prediction performance of the network model was examined using various performance *** mean square error(MSE)and the statistical coefficient of determination(R2)values are excellent numerical criteria for evaluating the performance of a prediction tool.A well-trained neural network model produces small MSE and higher R2 *** the current study,the adsorbent bed temperature results obtained from a neural network with a two neuron in hidden layer and the number of the tapped time-delays d=9 provided a reasonable degree of accuracy:MSE=1.0121 and R2=0.99864 and the index of agreement was *** network model,based on a high-performance algorithm,provided reliable and high-precision results concerning the predictable temperature of the adsorbent bed.

In this paper,we investigate a predator-prey model with herd behavior and cross-diffusion subject to the zero flux boundary ***,the temporal behavior of the model has been investigated,where Hopf bifurcation has been ***,by analyzing the characteristic equation it has been proved that the cross-diffusion generate a complex dynamics such as Hopf bifurcation,Turing instability,even Turing-Hopf ***,the impact of the prey herd shape on the spatiotemporal patterns has been ***,by computing and analyzing the normal form associated with the Turing-Hopf bifurcation point,the spatiotemporal dynamics near the Turing-Hopf bifurcation point has been discussed and allso justified by some numerical simulations.

Heroin is considered as damage on the health of the *** this paper,we consider a heroin epidemic model with treat age,where the inner rivalry in between the drug users for a small dose of drugs is *** influence of treatment period for a drug consumer before quitting treatment is investigated,where it is obtained that the considered model can undergo backward bifurcation,which shows the possibility of having two endemic equilibriums,this type of bifurcation is discussed in terms of the basic reproduction number *** bifurcation diagram is drown in the case of an age structured ***,we show the existence of Hopf bifurcation is shown under suitable conditions on the model *** obtained mathematical results are confirmed numerically.

The goal of this study is to provide a stochastic method to investigate the eff ects of the randomness of soil properties due to their natural spatial variability on the response spectra spatial variation at sites with varying conditions. For this purpose, Monte Carlo Simulations are used to include the variability of both incident ground motion and soil parameters in the response spectra by mean of an appropriate coherency loss function and a site-dependent transfer function, respectively. The approach is built on the assumption of vertical propagation of SH type waves in soil strata with uncertain parameters. The response spectra are obtained by numerical integration of the governing equation of a single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system under non-stationary site-dependent and spatially varying ground motion accelerations simulated with non-uniform spectral densities and coherency loss functions. Numerical examples showed that randomness of soil properties signifi cantly aff ects the amplitudes of the response spectra, indicating that as the heterogeneity induced by the randomness of the parameters of the medium increases, the spectral ordinates attenuate.

We consider in this research an age-structured alcoholism *** global behavior of the model is *** is proved that the system has a threshold dynamics in terms of the basic reproduction number(BRN),where we obtained that alcohol-free equilibrium(AFE)is globally asymptotically stable(GAS)in the case R_(0)≤1,but for R_(0)>1 we found that the system persists and the nontrivial equilibrium(EE)is ***,the effects of the susceptible drinkers rate and the repulse rate of the recovers to alcoholics are investigated,which allow us to provide a proper strategy for reducing the spread of alcohol use in the studied *** obtained mathematical results are tested numerically next to its biological relevance.

Numerical aspects of a pore scale model are investigated for the simulation of catalyst layers of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel *** heat,mass and charged species transport together with reaction kinetics are taken into account using parallelized finite volume simulations for a range of nanostructured,computationally reconstructed catalyst layer *** effectiveness of implementing deflation as a second stage preconditioner generally improves convergence and results in better convergence behavior than more sophisticated first stage *** behavior is attributed to the fact that the two stage preconditioner updates the preconditioning matrix at every GMRES restart,reducing the stalling effects that are commonly observed in restarted GMRES when a single stage preconditioner is *** addition,the effectiveness of the deflation preconditioner is independent of the number of processors,whereas the localized block ILU preconditioner deteriorates in quality as the number of processors is *** total number of GMRES search directions required for convergence varies considerably depending on the preconditioner,but also depends on the catalyst layer microstructure,with low porosity microstructures requiring a smaller number of *** improved model and numerical solution strategy should allow simulations for larger computational domains and improve the reliability of the predicted transport *** preconditioning strategies presented in the paper are scalable and should prove effective for massively parallel simulations of other problems involving nonlinear equations.
