Interconnected devices and intelligent applications have slashed human intervention in the Internet of Things(IoT),making it possible to accomplish tasks with less human ***,it faces many problems,including lower capacity links,energy utilization,enhancement of resources and limited resources due to its openness,heterogeneity,limited resources and *** is challenging to route packets in such a constrained *** an IoT network constrained by limited resources,minimal routing control overhead is required without packet *** constrained environments can be improved through the optimal routing *** is challenging to route packets in such a constrained ***,this work is motivated to present an efficient routing protocol for enhancing the lifetime of the IoT *** On-demand Ad hoc Distance-vector Routing Protocol—Next Generation(LOADng)protocol is an extended version of the Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV)*** AODV,LOADng is a lighter version that forbids the intermediate nodes on the route to send a route reply(RREP)for the route request(RREQ),which originated from the source.A resource-constrained IoT network demands minimal routing control overhead and faster packet ***,in this paper,the parameters of the LOADng routing protocol are optimized using the black widow optimization(BWO)algorithm to reduce the control overhead and ***,the performance of the proposed model is analyzed with the default LOADng in terms of delay,delivery ratio and *** results show that the LOADng-BWO protocol outperforms the conventional LOADng protocol.

The present study investigated the antiarrhythmic activity of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia （T. cordifolia） in CaCl2 induced arrhythmia. CaCl2 （25 mg/kg） was administered by intravenous infusion （iv） to produce arrhythmia in rats. The animals were then treated with T. cordifolia extract （150, 250, and 450 mg/kg） and verapamil （5 mg/kg,iv）. Lead II electrocardiogram was monitored. Plasma calcium, sodium and potassium levels were measured. In CaCl2 induced arrhythmia, heart rate was decreased by 41.10%, T. cordifolia at 150, 300, and 450 mg/kg decreased the heart rate by 26.30%, 29.16%, and 38.29%, respectively, and verapamil reduced the heart rate by 9.70% compared to the normal group. The PQRST waves were normalized and atrial and ventricular fibrillation was controlled in rats treated with verapamil and T. cordifolia. CaCl2 increased calcium and sodium levels and decreased potassium levels in blood. T. cordifolia dose-dependently decreased calcium and sodium levels and increased potassium levels. Hence, T. cordifolia can be used in antiarrhythmic clinical settings and beneficial in atrial and ventricular fibrillation and flutter and may be indicated in ventricular tachyarrhythmia.

The present study investigated the effect of garlic （Allium sativum Linn.） aqueous extracts on ischemic pre- conditioning and ischemia-reperfusion induced cardiac injury, as well as adenosine involvement in ischemic pre- conditioning and garlic extract induced cardioprotection. A model of ischemia-reperfusion injury was established using Langendorff apparatus. Aqueous extract of garlic dose was standardized （0.5%, 0.4%, 0.3%, 0.2%, 0.1%, 0.07%, 0.05%, 0.03%, 0,01%）, and the 0.05% dose was found to be the most effective. Higher doses （more than 0.05%） were highly toxic, causing arrhythmia and cardiodepression, whereas the lower doses were ineffective. Garlic exaggerated the cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning. The cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning and garlic cardioprotection was significantly attenuated by theophylline （1,000 ~tmol/L） and 8-SPT （10 mg/kg, i.p.） and expressed by increased myocardial infarct size, increased LDH level, and reduced nitrite and adenosine levels. These findings suggest that adenosine is involved in the pharmacological and molecular mechanism of garlic induced cardioprotection and mediated by the modulation of nitric oxide.

Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes. Symptoms of the disease include nerve palsy, mononeuropathy, mononeuropathy multiplex, diabetic amyotrophy, painful polyneuropathy, autonomic neu- ropathy, and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. In this study, type 2 diabetes in rats was induced with nicotinamide- streptozotocin. Drug treatment was initiated on the d 15, with the combination regimen of metformin, pioglitazone and glimipiride or metformin and sitagliptin or sitagliptin, amitriptyline and sitagliptin and led to significantly im- proved glycemic control, increased grip strength and paw jumping response on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Signif- icant increases in blood protein levels and decreases in urinary protein levels were observed in the animals treated with the different regimens on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Combined treatment of streptozotocin and nicotinamide caused marked degeneration of nerve cells, while administration of metformin and sitagliptin showed tissue regen- eration and no body weight gain. In conclusion, treatment with sitagliptin and sitagliptin combined with metformin or amitriptyline results in no body weight gain, but causes an increase in grip strength and pain sensitivity, exhibits neural protection, and reverses the alteration of biochemical parameters in rats with streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetes.

Chromobacterium violaceum is a gram-negative bacterium, which has been used widely in microbiology labs involved in quorum sensing(QS) research. Among the QS-regulated traits of this bacterium, violacein production has received the maximum attention. Violacein production in this organism, however is not under sole control of QS machinery, and other QSregulated traits of this bacterium also need to be investigated in better detail. Though not often involved in human infections, this bacterium is being viewed as an emerging pathogen. This review attempts to highlight the recent research advances on Chromobacterium violaceum, with respect to violacein biosynthesis, development of various applications of this bacterium and its bioactive metabolite violacein, and its pathogenicity.

Objective:To explore the relationship between climate variables and enteric fever in the city of Ahmedabad and report preliminary findings regarding the influence of El Nino Southern Oscillations and Indian Ocean Dipole over enteric fever ***:A total of 29808 Widal positive enteric fever cases reported by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and local climate data in 1985-2017 from Ahmedabad Meteorology Department were *** Nino,La Nina,neutral and Indian Ocean Dipole years as reported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the same period were compared for the incidence of enteric ***:Population-normalized average monthly enteric fever case rates were the highest for El Nino years(25.5),lower for La Nina years(20.5)and lowest for neutral years(17.6).A repeated measures ANOVA analysis showed no significant difference in case rates during the three yearly El Nino Southern Oscillations ***,visual profile plot of estimated marginal monthly means showed two distinct characteristics:an early rise and peaking of cases in the El Nino and La Nina years,and a much more restrained rise without conspicuous peaks in neutral *** analysis based on monthly El Nino Southern Oscillations categories was conducted to detect differences in median monthly case *** case rates in strong and moderate El Nino months and strong La Nina months were significantly dissimilar from that during neutral months(P<0.001).Conclusions:El Nino Southern Oscillations events influence the incidence of enteric fever cases in Ahmedabad,and further investigation from more cities and towns is required.

Aim: Chronic otitis media (COM) is chronic muco purulent discharge through a perforated tympanic membrane. Theossicular chain damage is found in both mucosal and squamosal types of COM. We aim to evaluate relationship between preoperative otologic features, pure tone audiometric findings and intraoperative ossicular chain status in patients with chronic otitis media. Material and Methods: 100 patients of either sex aged between 12 to 60 years operated for active or inactive, squamosal or mucosal chronic otitis media attending Ram Lal Eye and ENT Hospital, Government Medical College Amritsar were taken. The preoperative ossicular chain status based on set parameters was compared with the intraoperative ossicular chain status. Results: The ossicular chain integrity is more commonly compromised in squamosal COM and the most common ossicle eroded is Incus. Pure tone audiogram has got a very important role in determining the ossicular chain integrity preoperatively and must be done in all cases with accuracy. Conclusion: It is concluded that on the basis of otoscopic examination and pure tone audiometry values, we can accurately classify the COM as mucosal or squamosal type and get an idea of the ossicular chain integrity preoperatively hence planning the extent of surgery.

Objective:To investigate antimicrobial and bronchodialator effect of hydroalcholic extract of polyherbal drug Shirishadi containing Shirisha(Albezzia lebbeck),Nagarmotha(Cyprus ratandus) & Kantakari(Solanum xanthocarpum).Methods:Antimicrobial activity was evaluated by discdiffusion method and MIC,MBC,MFC were calculated by micro dilution *** extract of this preparation was investigated for its phytochemical analysis,phenol and Oavonoid were determined by speclrophotometric method and in vivo bronchodilator effect was analysed by convulsion ***:The phytochemical tests revealed presence of alkaloids, anthraquinones,carbohydrates,flavonoids,saponins and *** antimicrobial result showed the MIC of 6.25 mg/*** Staphylococcus aureus and 12.5 mg/*** Escherichia coli and 12.5 mg/mL against remaining bacteria tested,with strong antifungal *** maximum inhibition zone is found against Pseudomonas aeruginosa with MIC 16 mg/mL Drug showed significant bronchodilator effect with 27.86%& 36.13%increase in preconvulsion time of guinea pigs prebeated with 100 & 200 mg/kg body weight of ***:The study reveals that the extracts possess antibacterial activity and antifungal activity in a dose dependent manner. This antimicrobial property may be due to presence of several saponins,further studies are highly needed for the drug development.
