Aims Nighttime sap flow of trees may indicate transpiration and/or recharge of stem water storage at *** paper deals with the water use of Acacia mangium at night in the hilly lands of subtropical South *** primary goal was to reveal and understand the nature of nighttime sap flow and its functional *** Granier’s thermal dissipation method was used to determine the nighttime sap flux of *** exchange system was used to estimate nighttime leaf transpiration and stomatal conductance of studied *** Findings Nighttimesap flowwas substantial and showed seasonal variation similar to the patterns of daytime sap flowin *** nighttime sap flow was higher in the less precipitation year of 2004(1122.4 mm)than in the more precipitation year of 2005(1342.5 mm)since more daytime transpiration and low soil water availability in the relatively dry 2004 can be the cause of more nighttime sap *** vapor pressure deficit and air temperature were significantly correlated with nighttime sap flow,they could only explain a small fraction of the variance in nighttime sap *** total accumulated water loss(E_(L))by transpiration of canopy leaves was only;2.6–8.5%of the total nighttime sap flow(E_(t))during the nights of July 17–18 and 18–19,***,it is likely that the nighttime sap flow was mainly used for refillingwater in the *** stem diameter at breast height,basal area and sapwood area explained much more variance of nighttime water recharge than environmental factors and other tree form features,such as tree height,stem length below the branch,and canopy *** contribution of nighttime water recharge to the total transpiration ranged from 14.7 to 30.3%depending on different DBh class and was considerably higher in the dry season compared to the wet season.

Objective: Urolithiasis formation has been attributed to environmental and dietary factors. however, evidence is accumulating that genetic background can contribute to urolithiasis formation. Advancements in the identification of monogenic causes using high-throughput sequencing technologies have shown that urolithiasis has a strong heritable ***: This review describes monogenic factors implicated in a genetic predisposition to urolithiasis. Peer-reviewed journals were evaluated by a PubMed search until July 2023 to summarize disorders associated with monogenic traits, and discuss clinical implications of identification of patients genetically susceptible to urolithiasis ***: Given that more than 80% of urolithiases cases are associated with calcium accumulation, studies have focused mainly on monogenetic contributors to hypercalciuric urolithiases, leading to the identification of receptors, channels, and transporters involved in the regulation of calcium renal tubular reabsorption. Nevertheless, available candidate genes and linkage methods have a low resolution for evaluation of the effects of genetic components versus those of environmental, dietary, and hormonal factors, and genotypes remain undetermined in the majority of urolithiasis ***: The pathophysiology underlying urolithiasis formation is complex and multifactorial, but evidence strongly suggests the existence of numerous monogenic causes of urolithiasis in humans.

A novel polybenzimidazole(PBI)-based trilayer membrane assembly is developed for application in vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB).The membrane comprises a 1μm thin cross-linked poly[2,2′-(p-oxydiphenylene)−5,5′-bibenzimidazole](OPBI)sandwiched between two 20μm thick porous OPBI membranes(p-OPBI)without further lamination *** trilayer membrane demonstrates exceptional properties,such as high conductivity and low area-specific resistance(ASR)of 51 mS cm−1 and 81mΩcm^(2),*** with vanadium electrolyte increases the ASR of trilayer membrane only to 158mΩcm^(2),while that of Nafion is 193mΩcm^(2).VO^(2+)permeability is 2.73×10^(-9) cm^(2) min^(−1),about 150 times lower than that of Nafion *** addition,the membrane has high mechanical strength and high chemical stability against VO^(2+).In VRFB,the combination of low resistance and low vanadium permeability results in excellent performance,revealing high Coulombic efficiency(>99%),high energy efficiency(EE;90.8%at current density of 80mA cm^(−2)),and long-term *** EE is one of the best reported to date.

The safety and durability of lithium-ion batteries under mechanical constraints depend significantly on electrochemical,thermal,and mechanical fields in *** and quantifying the multi-field coupling behaviors requires interdisciplinary ***,we design experiments under mechanical constraints and introduce an in-situ analytical framework to clarify the complex interaction mechanisms and coupling degrees among multi-physics *** proposed analytical framework integrates the parameterization of equivalent models,in-situ mechanical analysis,and quantitative assessment of coupling *** results indicate that the significant impact of pressure on impedance at low temperatures results from the diffusion-controlled step,enhancing kinetics when external pressure,like 180 to 240 k Pa at 10℃,is *** diversity in control steps for the electrochemical reaction accounts for the varying impact of pressure on battery performance across different *** thermal expansion rate suggests that the swelling force varies by less than 1.60%per unit of elevated temperature during the lithiation *** introducing a composite metric,we quantify the coupling correlation and intensity between characteristic parameters and physical fields,uncovering the highest coupling degree in electrochemical-thermal *** results underscore the potential of analytical approaches in revealing the mechanisms of interaction among multi-fields,with the goal of enhancing battery performance and advancing battery management.
