This paper deals with the design of bidirectional coupler for broadband power line communication and the impedance matching technique with the power line. This coupler can be used for both transmitting and receiving the data, acting as transceiver. The impedance mismatching problem is also solved here using line trap circuit. The coupler circuit is capable of transmitting or receiving modulated signals with carrier frequency of 15 MHz which can be used for domestic as well as distribution power networks. Laboratory prototype tested using power line network consists of electrical household appliances and results show that the circuit is able to facilitate bidirectional band pass transmission.

In the recent past power line communication has emerged as an attractive choice for high speed data transfer and is looked upon as inexpensive and reliable media suitable for broadband internet access, home and office automation, in-vehicle data communication etc. In this paper we present an architecture for the physical layer of a PLC transceiver based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and the impact on multipath distortion for PLC transmission in terms of bit error rate. Since there is no standard PLC channel model available, a widely accepted multipath channel model is used for simulation purpose. Simulation results as well as FPGA synthesis verify the effectiveness of the proposed architecture for PLC modem design at 110 Mbps data rate.

In this paper, a wideband Sierpinski carpet patterned cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) operating in the X-Band is proposed. This DRA is realized from low cost Teflon. An impedance bandwidth of 50% is obtained cove- ring the entire X-band with similar radiation pattern throughout the band. The average peak gain within the band is about 5.5 dBi.

Malignant otitis externa with subsequent internal jugular vein thrombosis and hypoglossal palsy:a report and review of literature

A rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna with a co-planar waveguide fed inductive slot is proposed.A non-resonant inductive slot is used to couple energy from the CPW to the *** rectangular DRA has been rotated by 450 to obtain two orthogonal *** selecting suitable dimensions of the DRA the two orthogonal modes has been brought close enough to yield wideband *** proposed antenna has been designed to operate in the IEEE 802.11a band.

Inflammation of a part or whole of the temporal bone and surrounding soft tissue is termed as malignant otitis externa,which typically spreads to skull base to involve cranial nerves *** can it also effect one or more of cranial nerves IX,X,XI,and *** present a case of malignant otitis externa which presented with symptomatic palsy of IX and XII nerves sparing the VII cranial *** patient though later on had internal jugular vein thrombosis,which we presume is due to the involvement of the parapharyngeal space that prompted us to reconsider the diagnosis,and later on,to aggravate the *** proper blood sugar control and appropriate long term antibiotics,not only that the patient is disease free at one year follow up,but the cranial nerve deficits also *** from sharing the clinical and management details of this patient,we have reviewed the relevant literature in the discussion,which has shed some light onto some of the interesting facts about this condition and its prognosis.

患者男性,40岁,人类免疫缺陷病毒(HIV)阳性,左侧腹股沟区域出现痛性肿块伴低热4周。近4年来,患者一直服用抗逆转录病毒药物治疗(替诺福韦、拉米夫定和法维能)。患者无近期动物抓伤史。体检于左侧腹股沟韧带上下区域发现多个严重肿大的波动淋巴结(直径3.5~4.5 cm),呈"凹槽征"(图1红色箭头示)。一些淋巴结已经溃烂并形成窦道。患者左下肢水肿。未发现会阴部损伤。身体其他部位淋巴结无肿大。胸部X线平片和腹部超声检查无异常发现。相关实验室检查结果见表1。
