Background: Novel player tracking technologies can change the understanding of performance determinants in team sports by allowing to accurately measuring the activity demands. The aim of this study was to identify how the defensive pressure affects the time-motion variables and the technical actions in ***: Twenty international male players(age: 16.05 ± 2.09 years, weight: 73.13 ± 8.10 kg, height: 183.10 ± 5.88 cm) played two 10 min basketball quarters, where they used a man-to-man 1/4-court defense until the 4th min(F1/4), changed to man-to-man full court(FULL) for 3 min and, from the 7th to the 10 th min returned to 1/4-court defense(S1/4). A computerized notational analysis was performed using Simi Scout and positional data were captured with the Ubisense Real Time Location System(mean sampling rate 3.74 ± 0.45 Hz per transmitter/player).Results: The time-motion variables presented similar results between defensive conditions, showing a total distance covered around 90 m/***, results suggested possible vertical jump impairments in S1/4 periods. There was more distance covered while jogging in the offensive court(38.15 ± 12.17 m/min offensive court vs. 32.94 ± 10.84 m/min defensive court, p < 0.05) and more distance covered while running in the defensive court(16.41 ± 10.27 m/min offensive court vs. 19.56 ± 10.29 m/min defensive court, p < 0.05).Conclusion: These results suggest how to improve task representativeness during specific conditioning or game-based training situations and also to help coaches' strategic decisions during the games.

We report here the activated carbon and cobalt hexacyanoferrate composite,which is applied as the electrode materials in symmetric supercapacitors containing a 1.0 M Na_(2)SO_(4) aqueous *** novel material combines high specific surface area and electrochemical stability of activated carbon with the redox properties of cobalt hexacyanoferrate,resulting in maximum specific capacitance of 329 F g^(-1) with large voltage working window of 2.0 *** studies indicated that cobalt hexacyanoferrate introduces important pseudocapacitive properties accounting for the overall charge-storage process,especially when I<0.5 A g^(-1).At lower gravimetric currents(e.g.,0.05 A g^(-1))and up to 1.0 V,the presence of cobalt hexacyanoferrate improves the specific energy for more than 300%.In addition,to better understanding the energy storage process we also provided a careful investigation of the electrode materials under dynamic polarization conditions using the in situ Raman spectroscopy and synchrotron light Xray diffraction *** complementary findings were obtained in these *** believe that this novel electrode material is promising for applications regarding the energy-storage process in pseudocapacitors with long lifespan properties.

The accepted paradigm for intestinal-type gastric cancer pathogenesis is a multistep progression from chronic gastritis induced by Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) to gastric atrophy, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia and ultimately gastric cancer. The genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying disease progression are still not completely understood as only a fraction of colonized individuals ever develop neoplasia suggesting that bacterial, host and environmental factors are involved. Micro RNAs are noncoding RNAs that may influence H. pylori-related pathology through the regulation of the transcription and expression of various genes, playing an important role in inflammation, cell proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation. Indeed, H. pylori have been shown to modify micro RNA expression in the gastric mucosa and micro RNAs are involved in the immune host response to the bacteria and in the regulation of the inflammatory response. Micro RNAs have a key role in the regulation of inflammatory pathways and H. pylori may influence inflammation-mediated gastric carcinogenesis possibly through DNA methylation and epigenetic silencing of tumor suppressor micro RNAs. Furthermore, micro RNAs influenced by H. pylori also have been found to be involved in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Altogether, micro RNAs seem to have an important role in the progression from gastritis to preneoplastic conditions and neoplastic lesions and since each micro RNA can control the expression of hundreds to thousands of genes, knowledge of micro RNAs target genes and their functions are of paramount importance. In this article we present a comprehensive review about the role of micro RNAs in H. pylori gastric carcinogenesis, identifying the micro RNAs downregulated and upregulated in the infection and clarifying their biological role in the link between immune host response, inflammation, DNA methylation and gastric carcinogenesis.

Mirtazapine (MTZ) is an antidepressant drug, which belongs to the chemical class of piperazinoazepines. A liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed for the quantifica- tion of MTZ in plasma at the concentrations associated with therapy. Diazepam (DZP) was used as internal standard, added to 200 μL of plasma sample prior to a liquid-liquid extraction using hexane. Chroma- tographic separation was achieved on an Agilent? Eclipse XDB C-18 column (100 × 2.1 mm, 3.5 μm) in iso- cratic mode at 40?C. Mobile phase was 10 mM ammonium acetate/acetonitrile/formic acid (60/40/0.1, v/v/v) at a constant flow rate of 0.5 mL?min–1. The injection volume was 10 ?L and the total run time was 3.2 min. The method shows selectivity and linearity. The detection and quantitation limits were established at 0.17 and 0.50 ng?mL–1, respectively. The extraction recoveries for MTZ and DZP were found to be between 84.9 and 93.9%. The intra-day and inter-day precision and accuracy fulfill at the international acceptance criteria. The method shows to be stable for the studied parameters. Therefore, a rapid, specific, and sensitive LC-MS/MS method for quantification of MTZ in human plasma was developed and can be used in therapeu- tic drug monitoring of this drug.

The mismatch between the photovoltaic(PV)cells absorption and the solar irradiance on earth is one of the major limitations towards more efficient PV energy *** aspect was addressed by downshifting the solar irradiance on Earth through luminescent down-shifting layers based on lanthanidedoped surface-functionalized ionosilicas(ISs)embedded in poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)coated on the surface of commercial Si-based PV *** IS-PMMA hybrid materials exhibit efficient solar radiation harvesting(spectral overlap of^9.5×10^19 photons/(s·m2))and conversion(quantum yield^52%).The direct solar radiation and the down-shifted radiation are partially guided and lost through total internal reflection to the layer edges being unavailable for PV conversion of the coated PV *** tuning the down-shifting layer thickness,it also acts as luminescent solar concentrator enabling the collection of the guided radiation by flexible PV cells applied on the borders of the down-shifting layer leading to an enhancement of the PV energy conversion from^5%(in the case of the single-use of the luminescent down-shifting layer)to^13%comparing with the bare PV *** overall electrical output of the device resulted in an absolute external quantum efficiency increase of^32%for the optimized Eu^3+-based films in the UV spectral region(compared with the bare PV device,which is among the best values reported so far).

The production of mushrooms enriched with essential elements, e.g. selenium, for human health is an interesting strategy to improve the functional foods supply. The selenium is an essential mineral and makes part of structure of enzymes involved in the oxidative metabolism. However, the selenium effect on the activity of respiratory and lignocellulolytic enzymes has not been considered. The understanding of this effect is important to determine the selenium concentration that increases the mushroom productivity and the degradation rate of the substrate. In this study, it was observed reduction of the respiratory activity of Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler, the shiitake mushroom, in function of the increasing of the sodium selenite concentration in the substrate (p < 0.05). Selenium did not inhibit the activity of the hydrolytic enzymes (cellulase and xylanase), but it increased the activity of the oxidative enzyme (laccase). Respiratory activity of L. edodes has a negative correlation with sodium selenite concentration added in substrate. Thus is important to define the ideal dose of selenium to be added to the substrate for increasing lignocellulosic residues degradation and, consequently, guarantee a higher production of Se-enriched mushrooms.

Evaluation of Some New Wine Grape Cultivars under S^o Francisco Valley Conditions

This study aimed to evaluate the performance and characteristics of the grapes as subsidies to the recommendation of new wine grape cultivars for the S^o Francisco Valley. An experiment was carried out in Petrolina, Pernambuco state, during four seasons in 2014 and 2015 and the treatments were represented by 10 cultivars and three breeding selections： Grenache, Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah for red wines and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and breeding selections 46, 14 and 47 for white wines. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replicates and two useful plants per plot. The following variables were evaluated： sprouting, bud fertility rate, Ravaz index, production, number of clusters, weight, length and width of cluster, weight and volume of 100 berries, soluble solids and titratable acidity. A better balance between production and vigour was obtained in Grenache, Merlot and Tempranillo cultivars, presenting values of 7.56, 6.50 and 5.93, respectively, for Ravaz index. Grenache, Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo were the most productive cultivars with average yields estimated at 10.4, 8.7 and 8.4 ton/ha/season. Selection 14 had longer, wider and less compact clusters, which can reduce clusters rottenness. The percentage of sprouting ranged from 38.13% in selection 14 to 77.6% in cv. Chenin Blanc. The average index of bud fertility was 0.79 cluster/bud, with no significant differences among cultivars. Greater potential for sugar accumulation was found in the selections 14, 46 and 47, while the titratable acidity ranged from 0.63% in cv. Merlot to 0.89% in selection 47. Grenache and Tempranillo have showed potential to obtain adequate yield and balanced vines, while Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabemet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot presented low yield being necessary to select clones more productive and well adapted to the tropical conditions.
