The abnormal aggregation of amyloid-beta(Aβ)has been widely believed to play an important role in the pathogenesis of Alz heimer’s disease(AD),which is also recognized as one of the main biomarkers for AD diagnosis.The peptide sequence Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe(KLVFF)is considered as the main driver of the fibrillation of Aβ,which also can be utilized to target Aβand inhibit its aggregation.In this study,KLVFF and Fmoc-KLVFF fluorescent nanoparticles were self-assembled through zinc coordination andπ-πstacking.The recognition of Aβaggregates including oligomers and fibrils by fluorescent nanoparticles can be realized through aromatic,hydrophobic,and hydrogen-bond interactions.The fluorescent nanoprobes can distinguish Aβaggregation formats and detect Aβat the limit of 1 pg/mL(S/N=3).Hence,the detection of Aβaggregates by fluorescent peptide nanoparticles has great potential for AD diagnosis and progression prediction.

Peptide self-assembled nanomaterials have attracted more and more attention due to their wide applications such as drug delive ry,cell imaging,and real-time drug monitoring.However,the application of the peptide is still limited by its inherent optical properties.Here we proposed and prepared a series of fluorescent tripeptide nanoparticles(TPNPs)through π-π stacking and zinc coordination.The experimental results show that the nanoparticles(TPNPs1)formed by the self-assembly of the tripeptide tryptophan-tryptophan-tryptophan have the highest fluorescence intensity,uniform and appropriate size,and low cytotoxicity.Furthermore,there was fluorescence resonance between TPNPs1 and doxorubicin,which has been successfully applied for real-time cell imaging and drug release monitoring.

Using Hodge theory and Banach fixed point theorem,liu and Zhu developed a global method to deal with various problems in deformation theory.In this note,the authors generalize liu-Zhu's method to treat two deformation problems for non-Kahler manifolds.They apply the ■■-Hodge theory to construct a deformation formula for(p,q)-forms of compact complex manifold under deformations,which can be used to study the Hodge number of complex manifold under deformations.In the second part of this note,by using the ■■-Hodge theory,they provide a simple proof of the unobstructed deformation theorem for the non-Kahler Calabi-Yau ■■-manifolds.

The dysfunction of coronary microcirculation is an important cause of coronary artery disease(CAD).The index of microcirculatory resistance(IMR)is a quantitative evaluation of coronary microcirculatory function,which provides a significant reference for the prediction,diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of CAD.IMR also plays a key role in investigating the interaction between epicardial and microcirculatory dysfunctions,and is closely associated with coronary hemodynamic parameters such as flow rate,distal coronary pressure,and aortic pressure,which have been widely applied in computational studies of CAD.However,there is currently a lack of consensus across studies on the normal and pathological ranges of IMR.The relationships between IMR and coronary hemodynamic parameters have not been accurately quantified,which limits the application of IMR in computational CAD studies.In this paper,we discuss the research gaps between IMR and its potential applications in the computational simulation of CAD.Computational simulation based on the combination of IMR and other hemodynamic parameters is a promising technology to improve the diagnosis and guide clinical trials of CAD.

Li metal chemistry is a promising alternative with a much higher energy density than that of state-of-the-art Li-ion counterparts. However, significant challenges including safety issues and poor cyclability have severely impeded Li metal technology from becoming viable. In recent years, nanotechnologies have become increasingly important in materials design and fabrication for Li metal anodes, contributing to major progress in the field. In this review, we first introduce the main achievements in Li metal battery systems fulfilled by nanotechnologies, particularly regarding Li metal anode design and protection, ultrastrong separator engineering, safety monitoring, and smart functions. Next, we introduce recent studies on nanoscale Li nucleation/deposition. Finally, we discuss possible future research directions. We hope this review delivers an overall picture of the role of nanoscale approaches in the recent progress of Li metal battery technology and inspires more research in the future.

Developing high-performance nonprecious-metal electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） is crucial for a variety of renewable energy conversion and storage systems. Toward that end, rational catalyst design principles that lead to highly active catalytic centers and enhanced active site accessibility are undoubtedly of paramount importance. Here, we used Prussian blue nano- particles to anchor Fe/Fe3C species to nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide aerogels as ORR catalysts. The strong interaction between nanosized Fe3C and the graphitic carbon shell led to synergistic effects in the ORR, and the protection of the carbon shell guaranteed stability of the catalyst. As a result, the aerogel electrocatalyst displayed outstanding activity in the ORR on par with the state-of-the-art Pt/C catalyst at the same mass loading in alkaline media, good performance in acidic media, and excellent stability and crossover tolerance that rivaled that of the best nonprecious-metal ORR electrocatalysts reported to date.

Purpose:To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of photobiomodulation(PBM)in the treatment of diabetic macular edema(DME).Methods:It was a single-center,self-controlled prospective study.The clinical records of 12 diabetic retinopathy patients(5 males and 7 females,20 eyes in total)who were treated with PBM for DME at the Second Affiliated Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine,were analyzed.The mean age was 56(26–68)years.All the participants received PBM treatment during darkness at night in no less than 5 days per week and no less than 8 h per day.In the baseline check and follow-up checks(1,2,6,10,and 12 months after the start of treatment),the best-corrected visual acuity,the thickness of the retina in the macula,and the changes of the fundus lesions were observed.Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to compare the results before and after treatment.P0.05)from the baseline result,except that in the 6th month(P?0.049).Obvious improvement could be observed in retinal fundus fluorescein angiography images.Conclusions:PBM is a safe and effective treatment of DME,which deserves further investigation.
