Time series bioaccumulation of rare earth elements （REEs） in field-grown wheat with and without a dressing of extraneous REE fertilizer at different growth stages and fractionation of REEs during their transport in a soil-wheat system were determined. Time-dependent accumulation of extraneous REEs was found in different parts of wheat. An upward transport of extraneous REEs from roots to shoots under a soil dressing and a downward transport from leaves to roots with a foliar dressing were also observed. Moreover, fractionation of REEs occurred in the soil-wheat system. Compared to the host soil a positive Eu anomaly in the stems and grains as well as heavy REE enrichment in the grains were found. The ability of the different wheat organs to fractionate Eu from the REE series was ranked in the order of sterns 〉 grains 〉 leaves 〉 roots.

Electrochemical actuators based on conductive polymers are emerging as a strong competitive in the field of soft actuators because of their intrinsically conformable/elastic nature,low cost,low operating voltage and air-working *** development has shown that adding electroactive materials,such as CNT and graphene,can improve their actuation *** the complex material systems used,their output strains(one of the key factors)are generally lower than 1%,which limited further applications of them in multiple ***,we report soft electrochemical actuators based on conductive polymer ionogels by embedding polyaniline particles between the PEDOT:PSS *** show that such a hierarchical structure not only leads to a high conductivity(1250 S/cm)but also improved electrochemical *** a low operating voltage of 1 V,the maximum strain of these soft actuators reaches an exceptional value of 1.5%,with a high blocking force of 1.3 *** these high-performance electrochemical actuators,we demonstrate soft grippers for manipulating object and a bionic flower stimulated by an electrical *** work sets an important step towards enabling the enhanced performance of electrochemical actuators based on conductive polymers with designed microstructures.

Coiled polymer artificial muscles with both large tensile stroke and giant force generation are needed for practical applications in robotics,soft exosuits,and ***,most polymer yarn artificial muscles cannot generate a large force or ***,we report an inexpensive Twisted and Coiled Polymer artificial muscle(TCP)that performs both large isobaric and isometric *** TCP can generate a tensile stroke of 20.1%and a specific work capacity of up to 1.3 kJ kg^(−1) during temperature changes from 20 to 180℃.Moreover,the nylon yarn artificial muscle produced a reversible output stress of 28.4 MPa,which is 100 times larger than human skeletal muscle.A robot arm and a simple gripper were made to demonstrate the isobaric actuation and isometric actuation of our TCP muscle,***,the polymer artificial muscles with dual-mode actuation show potential applications in the field of robotics,grippers,and exoskeletons and so on.

Ocean tide loading (OTL) displacements of eight principal constituents at 12 sites in Hong Kong were determined using more than eight years of continuous GPS observations. Parameters of the OTL displacements were estimated using daily GPS solutions obtained with precise point positioning (PPP) technique. The results were compared with predictions from seven latest global ocean tide models. Gravity measurements of OTL in Hong Kong were also used to validate the GPS results. The study shows that the results from both the GPS and gravity measurements agree best with the GOT4.7 and NAO99b models, when the K1 and K2 constituents are excluded. The agreements between the GPS and the model estimates are generally at sub-millimeter level in both the horizontal and vertical directions, except for S2, K2 and K1 constituents that have relatively larger errors. After removing the systematic biases between the GPS and the model estimates, the misfits of M2, S2, N2, O1, P1 and Q1 at all sites are within 0.5 and 1.0 mm in the horizontal and the vertical directions, respectively, whereas K1 and K2 show relatively larger misfits of up to 2.3 mm. Both the GPS and the gravity S2 estimates have large biases with unknown reasons when compared with the modeled values, which needs to be further investigated. The study demonstrates that GPS is capable of estimating the OTL displacements with the same accuracy as the model predictions, especially for coastal areas.

An integrated approach to generation of precedence relations and precedencegraphs for assembly sequence planning is presented, which contains more assembly flexibility. Theapproach involves two stages. Based on the assembly model, the components in the assembly can bedivided into partially constrained components and completely con-strained components in the firststage, and then geometric precedence relation for every component is generated *** to the result of the first stage, the second stage determines and constructs allprecedence graphs. The algorithms of these two stages proposed are verified by two assemblyexamples.

Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)(NVP)has garnered great attentions as a prospective cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)by virtue of its decent theoretical capacity,superior ion conductivity and high structural ***,the inherently poor electronic conductivity and sluggish sodium-ion diffusion kinetics of NVP material give rise to inferior rate performance and unsatisfactory energy density,which strictly confine its further application in ***,it is of significance to boost the sodium storage performance of NVP cathode *** to now,many methods have been developed to optimize the electrochemical performance of NVP cathode *** this review,the latest advances in optimization strategies for improving the electrochemical performance of NVP cathode material are well summarized and discussed,including carbon coating or modification,foreign-ion doping or substitution and nanostructure and morphology *** foreign-ion doping or substitution is highlighted,involving Na,V,and PO_(4)^(3−)sites,which include single-site doping,multiple-site doping,single-ion doping,multiple-ion doping and so ***,the challenges and prospects of high-performance NVP cathode material are also put *** is believed that this review can provide a useful reference for designing and developing high-performance NVP cathode material toward the large-scale application in SIBs.
