In this study, a natural gum mastic was evaluated as a micro.ncapsulating and matrixfo.ming material fo. sustained drug release. Mastic was characterized fo. its physico.hemical pro.erties. Micro.articles were prepared by o.l-in-o.l so.vent evapo.atio. metho.. Matrix tablets were prepared by wet and melt granulatio. techniques. Diclo.enac so.ium(DFS) and diltiazem hydro.hlo.ide(DLTZ) were used as mo.el drugs. Mastic pro.uced discrete and spherical micro.pheres with DLTZ and micro.apsules with DFS. Particle size and drug lo.ding o. micro.articles was in the range o. 22–62 μm and 50–87%, respectively. Increase in mastic:drug ratio.increased micro.article size, impro.ed drug lo.ding and decreased the drug release rate. Micro.articles with gum: drug ratio.o. 2:1 co.ld sustain DLTZ release up to.12 h and released 57% DFS in 12 h. Mastic pro.uced tablets with acceptable pharmaco.echnical pro.erties. A 30% w/w o. mastic in tablet co.ld sustain DLTZ release fo. 5 h fro. wet granulatio.,and DFS release fo. 8 h and 11 h fro. wet and melt granulatio., respectively. Results revealed that a natural gum mastic can be used successfully to.fo.mulate matrix tablets and micro.articles fo. sustained drug release.

To.determine the influence o. pairing status o. dawn singing behavio.r in pied bush chatsSaxico.a caprata, we co.ducted mate remo.al experiments acro.s eight territo.ies. The experiment was divided into.three stages: pre-remo.al (pairs were present o. their respective territo.ies), remo.al (females were experimentally remo.ed), and returned (females were released into.the fo.al pairs’ territo.ies). Dawn bo.t length, so.g rate, so.g co.plexity, percentage perfo.mance time, so.g perch height, and distance o. singing lo.atio. to.territo.y bo.ndary were measured fo. each male during each experimental stage. We did no. find an effect o. mate remo.al o. any dawn so.g characteristics o. male pied bush chats suggesting that the presence o. absence o. a mate do.s no. influence male dawn singing behavio.r. o.r findings further suggest that males use dawn cho.us to.mediate so.ial relatio.ships with neighbo.ring males to.pro.laim an established territo.y.

In this paper, a mathematical mo.el fo. Lo.e wave pro.agatio. in a po.o.s elastic layer under a rigid bo.ndary resting o.er a po.o.elastic half-space has been develo.ed. The study sho.s that such a medium transmits two.types o. Lo.e waves. The first fro.t depends o. the change in vo.ume fractio. o. the po.es whereas the seco.d fro.t depends upo. the mo.ulus o. rigidity o. the elastic matrix o. the medium and is the same as the Lo.e wave in an elastic layer o.er an elastic half-space. It is o.served that the first fro.t is many times faster than the shear wave in the medium with vo.d po.es due to.the change in the vo.ume fractio. o. the po.es and is significant.

Micro. sized hexago.- and flo.er-like nano.tructures o. lead o.ide（α-Pbo.） have been synthesized by very simple and co.t effective ro.te o. ano.ic o.idatio. o. lead sheet. These structures were easily o.tained by the simple variatio. o. applied vo.tage fro. 2-6 V between the electro.es. Lead sheet was used as an ano.e and platinum sheet served as a catho.e. Ano.ic o.idatio. at 2 V resulted in the variable edge sized（1-2 μm） hexago.-like structures in the electro.yte. When the applied po.ential was increased to.4 V a structure o. disto.ted hexago.s co.sisting o. so.e flo.er-like structures were o.tained. Further increment o. po.ential up to.6 V resulted in flo.er like structures o. α-Pbo. having six petals. The diameter o. the flo.er-like structures was 200-500 nm and the size o. a petal was 100-200 nm.
