Accurate and reliable evaluation of muscle strength in para-athletes is essential for monitoring the effectiveness of strength training and/or rehabilitation programmes,and sport *** aim is to synthesise evidence related to assessing muscle strength in *** databases were searched from January 1990 to July 2021 for observational studies focusing on strength *** screening,data extraction,and quality assessment were performed in duplicate.A total of 1764 potential studies were *** met the inclusion criteria and were included in the *** mean age of participants was 30.7 years(standard deviation[SD]:2.4).The majority were men(88%)participating in wheelchair sports,including basketball,rugby,and tennis(23/30:76%).Overall quality varied,with more than half of the studies failing to identify strategies for dealing with confounding *** manual muscle testing being a standard component of para-sport classification systems,evidence examining strength characteristics in para-athletes is derived primarily from isometric and isokinetic *** studies that included comparative strength data,findings were *** studies found strength values were similar to or lower than able-bodied athletic ***,an important observation was that others reported higher shoulder strength in para-athletes taking part in wheelchair sports than both able-bodied and disabled *** need to develop accessible,standardised strength testing methods that account for training influence and establish normative strength values in *** is also a need for additional studies that include female para-athletes and para-athletes with greater functional impairments.

The undesirable dendrite growth induced by non-planar zinc(Zn)deposition and low coulombic efficiency resulting from severe side reactions have been long-standing challenges for metallic Zn anodes and substantially impede the practical application of rechargeable aqueous Zn metal batteries(ZMBs).Herein,we present a strategy for achieving a high-rate and long-cycle-life Zn metal anode by patterning Zn foil surfaces and endowing a Zn-Indium(Zn-In)interface in the *** accumulation of electrons in the microchannel and the zincophilicity of the Zn-In interface promote preferential heteroepitaxial Zn deposition in the microchannel region and enhance the tolerance of the electrode at high current ***,electron aggregation accelerates the dissolution of non-(002)plane Zn atoms on the array surface,thereby directing the subsequent homoepitaxial Zn deposition on the array ***,the planar dendrite-free Zn deposition and long-term cycling stability are achieved(5,050 h at 10.0 mA cm^(−2) and 27,000 cycles at 20.0 mA cm^(−2)).Furthermore,a Zn/I_(2) full cell assembled by pairing with such an anode can maintain good stability for 3,500 cycles at 5.0 c,demonstrating the application potential of the as-prepared ZnIn anode for high-performance aqueous ZMBs.

Altered biomechanics due to amputation can contribute to substantial limitations,influencing sporting *** with lower extremity amputations or congenital lower limb deficiency are encouraged to participate in ***,to compete in Paralympic sports,the candidate must have an impairment that results in lower extremity loss of function and meets or exceeds the sport's minimum impairment criteria(MIc).This review will focus on the MIc for competitive wheelchair *** deficiency is known as one of the MIc used to regulate participation in competitive para-sports since it impacts gait,kinematics,and biomechanics of both the upper and lower ***,it is questionable whether the MIc concerning limb deficiency is set at the correct level for determining eligibility for participating in Paralympic *** study aims to provide an overview of the evidence examining the impact of different partial foot amputation(PFA)levels on gait as a proxy for sporting *** scoping review will be based on a 6-step methodological framework and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis,extension for scoping reviews(PRISMA-ScR).Studies will be selected from PubMed,Embase,cINAHL,and *** authors will screen the titles/abstracts *** studies will be scrutinised,and the same authors will extract *** will be relevant to informing the evidence-based development of MIc for lower limb impairment after PFA and may be extrapolated to specific Paralympic sports,including wheelchair *** will be disseminated through scientific publications and conferences to audiences interested in Paralympic sports.

Background: confusion often arises in caring for diabetic foot infections and ulcers, especially with antimicrobials;we aim to shed light on this entity and alert healthcare workers to its stewardship. Methods: Records were reviewed between February 2016 and September 2023. Data for patients diagnosed with diabetes and foot ulcers, infected or not, were examined following IcD 9 search terms. Records for patients were included if they were prediabetic/diabetic adults with foot ulcers, more than 18 years old, and on antidiabetic treatment. Patients were excluded if they insulin resistant, with normal HgbA1c levels, wheel-chair dependent, bed-bound, non-diabetic patients, diabetic patients who had vascular lower limb surgery earlier to ulcers, diabetic patients who had aortocoronary bypass, deep venous thrombosis within six months, malignancy, and severe clinical depression. A modified IWGDF/IDSA guidelines definitions for DFI and DFU was considered. Statistical analysis was done using R programming. Statistical methods were employed as appropriate, and a significant P-value was considered for P Results: Most characteristics were well balanced between DFI and DFU, on imaging osteomyelitis and tissue swelling were significantly more in DFI. Endovascular radiological procedures showed angiograms to be considerably more in DFI, while angioplasty was more in DFU, in addition to smoking. Bacteremia was uncommon, and swab cultures were mostly polymicrobial in both ulcers;no clear association with blood bacteria was detected with the polymicrobial growth, though few were concordant. Antimicrobials prescribed for both ulcers were not statistically different except for carbapenems, which were more in DFI (P conclusion: Attention should be paid to best practices while caring for diabetic ulcers. These include swab culture interpretations, the use of antimicrobials, and plan management according to DFI or DFU to utilize either local care or combination with antimicrobials.

(+)-catechin(cE)is mainly found in green and black tea and has many biological effects,such as antiinflammatory,anti-cancer,anti-viral effects,protecting human organs,especially the *** study aims to identify the circRNAs induced by cE in db/db mice and their roles in diabetic nephropathy *** the db/db mice were treated with cE,RNA-seq was performed to identify the differentially expressed circRNA and *** ceRNA regulatory network was constructed and analyzed using bioinformatics software and public databases(cytoscape,clue GO,Mi RWalk,STRING,et al.).Our results revealed that 6 differentially expressed circRNAs are most associated with the cholinergic synapse,neurotrophin signaling pathway,and insulin signaling *** these,circRNA.5549 and circRNA.4712 might regulate cd36,cyp26 b1,c8 a,cyp2 j13,Grem2 genes through ceRNA regulatory mechanism in the presence of cE *** expanded network of proteins interacting with these 5 genes shows that the TGF-βsignaling pathway,signaling pathways regulating pluripotency of stem cell,fat digestion and absorption,and PPAR signaling pathway was highly ***,circRNA.5549 and circRNA.4712 exhibit a promotive function in cE-treated db/db mice,especially in circRNA.5549/miR-29a-5P/cd36 regulatory network,and this evidence suggest that their ceRNA regulatory network might be a therapeutic target for DN in humans.

铜尾矿是铜矿经过一系列工艺选矿完成后剩下的颗粒直径较小的沙粒,其堆存会带来诸多环境问题。铜尾矿结晶度高、活性低,许多研究人员探究激发活性后的铜尾矿作为混凝土等材料的辅料,但利用率较低。本文通过热-机械协同活化的方式激发铜尾矿的活性,分析活性铜尾矿水化胶凝性能,依据抗压强度、粒径分布及矿相成分微观结构变化分析水化反应效果。在此基础上,采用X射线衍射仪(XRD)、傅立叶变换红外光谱(FT-IR)和电子扫描电镜(SEM)对铜尾矿胶凝性能进行分析。研究结果表明:热-机械协同活化激发铜尾矿活性的力学性能有了很大提升,即铜尾矿在600℃、机械球磨时间80 min条件下,活性由5.60%上升至89.91%,抗压强度为10.87 MPa;XRD和FT-IR进一步分析出活化铜尾矿多处产生了水化c—S—H凝胶、N—A—S—H凝胶、钙矾石等胶凝物质,其形状多呈现絮凝状、棉团状及短棒状。本文研究为铜尾矿的进一步利用提供理论支撑。

Persea americana attenuates inflammatory response associated with hyperlipidemia in ovariectomized and irradiated rats by regulating MMP-3/TIMP-1 levels

Objective:To explore the effect of Persea americana supplementation on inflammation,oxidative stress,and lipid profiles in ovariectomized rats fed with a high-fat diet and exposed to ***:The control group was sham operated,while groups 2-5 were ovariectomized and fed a high-fat *** 4 and 5 were exposed toγ-radiation(1 Gy/week for 5 weeks)after *** 3 and 5 were treated with 1 mL/250 g/day of Persea americana for one *** levels of estrogen,alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,cholesterol,triglycerides and lipoproteins were ***,hepatic oxidative stress,inflammatory and fibrogenic markers were ***:Persea americana treatment reduced the oxidative stress markers as well as the levels of triglyceride,total cholesterol,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,which in turn lowered hepatic fat ***,it suppressed hepatic inflammatory mediators(interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and c-reactive protein)and downregulated pro-fibrogenic markers(transforming growth factor-βand tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1).conclusions:Persea americana provides protection against ovariectomy,and gamma radiation-mediated hepatic inflammation not only through its antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,lipid-lowering effect but also by modulating the fibrogenic markers.

该研究旨在探索锂辉石尾矿与精炼渣的资源化利用新途径。通过单因素实验和正交实验,分析了氢氧化钠添加量、水玻璃添加量和锂辉石尾矿与精炼渣掺量比对地质聚合物力学性能的影响。在此基础上,重点分析了氢氧化钠添加量对锂辉石尾矿-精炼渣基地质聚合物制备力学性能的影响,采用XRD、SEM、FT-IR等表征手段分析了氢氧化钠对地质聚合物微观结构的影响。研究结果表明,锂辉石尾矿与精炼渣掺比量为7∶3、水玻璃添加量为15 mL、氢氧化钠添加量为2 g的条件下,制备地质聚合物28 d抗压强度可达26.78 MPa。氢氧化钠添加量对地质聚合物制备的影响最为显著,当锂辉石尾矿的碱度过高时,会减缓或抑制硅氧四面体和铝氧四面体的溶出,从而影响了c-S-H凝胶和N-A-S-H凝胶的合成。XRD和SEM分析显示,随着氢氧化钠含量的增加,生成的凝胶先增多后减少,同时与蓝晶石等物质结合,提高了地质聚合物的致密程度。此外,在800℃下,锂辉石尾矿-精炼渣基地质聚合物的抗压强度损失较小,表明其具有良好的耐高温性能。
