Overview of coronary artery variants, aberrations and anomalies

Coronary artery anomalies and variants are relatively uncommon congenital disorders of the coronary artery anatomy and constitute the second most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young competitive athletes. The rapid advancement of imaging techniques, including computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography, have provided us with a wealth of new information on the subject. Anomalous origin of a coronary artery from the contralateral sinus is the anomaly most frequently associated with sudden cardiac death, in particular if the anomalous coronary artery has a course between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. However, other coronary anomalies, like anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery, atresia of the left main stem and coronary fistulae, have also been implicated in cases of sudden cardiac death. Patients are usually asymptomatic, and in most of the cases, coronary anomalies are discovered incidentally during coronary angiography or on autopsy following sudden cardiac death. However, in some cases, symptoms like angina, syncope, heart failure and myocardial infarction may occur. The aims of this article are to present a brief overview of the diverse coronary variants and anomalies, focusing especially on anatomical features, clinical manifestations, risk of sudden cardiac death and pathophysiologic mechanism of symptoms, as well as to provide valuable information regarding diagnostic workup, follow-up, therapeutic choices and timing of surgical treatment.

Evaluation of pan coefficient equations in a semi-arid Mediterranean environment using the ASCE-standardized Penman-Monteith method

Reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) is essential for irrigation, water resources management and environmental assessment. The indirect estimation of ETo is based a) on energy budget approach using meteorological data and b) pan evaporation measurements (Epan) multiplied by pan coefficients (kp) adapted to the surrounding environmental conditions. Significant interest is shown for the kp equations, which have to be tested before their use. The purpose of this study is to evaluate six different kp equations, such as those of Cuenca, Allen and Puitt, Snyder, Pereira et al., Orang, Raghuwanshi and Wallender for the summer growing season (April to October) of Thessaloniki plain in Greece, which is characterized by a semi-arid Mediterranean environment. The evaluation of the kp equations is performed by two years Epan measurements, using as reference the daily ETo values estimated by the ASCE-standardized Penman-Monteith equation (ASCE-PM) in hourly time step. The results of this study showed that Cuenca’s equation provided more accurate daily estimations. Additional analysis is performed in other methods such as those of FAO-56 and Hargreaves based on the calculation time step (hourly or daily) and their correspondence to the ASCE-PM.

该作品的创意是一台解除了武器和传感器的装甲医护机甲被迫走向战场,此外还在机甲上附带一架无人机,作为战场上的导航。套件为wave出品的1/20Nixe机甲,这是横山宏系列中我最中意的一款,尤其是这种前部传感器盖板移除的状态我更喜欢。装甲拳和特制的无人机是该机甲唯一的装备,它即将奔赴战场!1无人机的主体是一颗乒乓球,前部传感器取自Wave的1/20 Leopard套件,使用环氧树脂补土将两者融为一体。此外,我还用上了一些其它的备用零件以及管线增添细节。最后再用开稀的田宫补土塑造表面纹理。

Evaluation of fast spin echo MRI sequence for an MRI guided high intensity focused ultrasound system for in vivo rabbit liver ablation

The effectiveness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to monitor thermal lesions created by High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in rabbit liver in vivo is investigated. The MRI sequences of T1- weighted, and T2-weighted fast spin echo (FSE) were evaluated. The main goal in this paper was to find the range of repetition time (TR) and range of echo time (TE) which maximizes the contrast to noise ratio (CNR). An ultrasonic transducer operating at 2 MHz was used, which is navigated using a positioning device. With T1W FSE the range of TR under which CNR is maximized ranges from 400 to 900 ms. The maximum contrast measured is approximately 25. With T2W FSE the range of TE that establishes maximum contrast is between 40 ms and 80 ms, with CNR of approximately 14. T1W FSE is much better than T2W FSE in detecting thermal lesions in liver. Both T1W and T2 W FSE were proven successful to image thermal lesions created by HIFU in rabbit liver in vivo.

由于缺少链末端,环状聚合物具有不同于线性聚合物的动力学行为。我们考察了经过严格纯化的环状聚合物的线性与非线性流变学行为。结果表明lattice-animal模型可以描述高分子量环状聚合物的松弛机理,而Rouse模型更适合于低分子量环状聚合物。阶跃剪切速率与阶跃应变实验都表明环状聚合物比线性链更难发生非线性形变。在环状/线性共混物中,环状聚合物可以作为流变学修饰剂调节线性基体的动力学行为。

Distribution Profiles and Interrelations of Stomatal Conductance, Transpiration Rate and Water Dynamics in Young Maize Laminas under Nitrogen Deprivation

Seven-day-old maize (Zea mays) plants were grown hydroponically for ten days in N-deprived nutrient solution. The distribution profiles according to the position on the stem of the –N laminas stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, photosynthetic rate (1st-group) were monitored, along with the corresponding profiles of dry mass, water amount, water content, length, surface area, and specific surface area (2nd-group), relative to control. In the uppermost –N laminas, the changes within a parameter of the 1st-group were significantly higher and of the 2nd-group significantly lower than the control, respectively. Correlations of the corresponding values among the parameters of the 1st-or 2nd-group were linear. The parameters between groups correlated non-linearly. Transpiration rate was divided by the lamina’s dry mass correlated with surface area in a power-type function. The slopes of the response ratios linear relations between the various pairs of parameters could be used for simulation of a lamina’s response to the deprivation.

研究聚焦于产业创新生态系统的"价值创造"和"价值获取"的动态过程和作用机制,以产业生态系统中的龙头企业及其协同整合的行为主体为分析对象,分析在"构建-管理"产业生态系统两阶段过程中的"价值创造"和"价值获取"机制。选择杭州、深圳两个电动汽车产业创新生态体系的案例,分析其2000—2013年的动态演化过程,进行跨案例比较。研究发现:在构建电动汽车产业创新生态系统的阶段,主要是形成有利于"价值创造"的产业前提条件,同时厘清各主体"价值获取"基础关系;在管理电动汽车产业创新生态的阶段,一方面是维持"价值创造"的稳定性和产业系统整体竞争力,另一方面则是促进产业行为主体从中实现"价值获取"。
