Irretrievable loss of vision is the predominant result of Glaucoma in the ***,multiple approaches have paid attention to the automatic detection of glaucoma on fundus *** to the interlace of blood vessels and the herculean task involved in glaucoma detection,the exactly affected site of the optic disc of whether small or big size cup,is deemed *** Based Ellipse Fitting curve Model(SBEFcM)classification is suggested based on the Ensemble for a reliable diagnosis of Glaucomain theOptic cup(Oc)and Optic Disc(OD)boundary *** research deploys the Ensemble convolutional Neural Network(cNN)classification for classifying Glaucoma or Diabetes Retinopathy(DR).The detection of the boundary between the Oc and the OD is performed by the SBEFcM,which is the latest weighted ellipse fitting *** SBEFcM that enhances and widens the multi-ellipse fitting technique is proposed *** is a preprocessing of input fundus image besides segmentation of blood vessels to avoid interlacing surrounding tissues and blood *** ascertaining of OcandODboundary,which characterizedmany output factors for glaucoma detection,has been developed by EnsemblecNNclassification,which includes detecting sensitivity,specificity,precision,andArea Under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUc)values accurately by an innovative *** terms of contrast,the proposed Ensemble cNNsignificantly outperformed the current methods.

Objective:To describe the prescribing behavior of the physician in kerala,and to describe types and number of medicine prescribed by doctors so as to rationalize the prescription writing habits of ***: A six month study was done to define the pattern of drug use in Medical college hospital,calicut. The data and the other important aspects of study were collected by personal interview,questionnaires meant for doctors and prescription monitoring Performa for the patients issued by WHO. The findings of survey were critically ***: The results indicated that majority of doctors prescribed on the basis of patient's history,patient's feed back report,drug availability,brand cost,quality of drug and ADRs. All the interviewed doctors looked upon the side effects. It was found that individual drugs were prescribed more than fixed dose combinations (85.6%). Out of these 71.5% were prescribed as branded and 28.5% as generic. The demographic data,like name,age,sex,disease diagnosis were available on all the patient health care cards and these constituted an essential part of the prescription particularly age and sex being an important in deciding the dose preference for patients. Socio economically most patients were found to be in the grade ⅡI (Population below poverty line). During the study of drug related parameters,doses were mentioned only in 80% of the prescription. But duration of the drug therapy was found to be only 30%.These indicated the irrational use of prescription. Branded drugs prescribed were found to be 71.5%,which showed a trend towards a good prescription habit. The results indicated the rational use of ***: The survey reveales that most of the doctors in Medical college hospital,calicut are maintaining rational use of drugs and their prescription writing habits was found to be good.

Impact of Smoking on Serum Immunoglobulin G Levels in Patients with Periodontitis

Tobacco smoking has been found to be a major environmental factor associated with generalized forms of severe periodontitis. Altered serum and gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory cytokine profiles, immune cell function, and altered proteolytic regulations are noticed in smokers. These observations are not consistent, and to date, there has been no clear mechanism to explain how smoking may affect periodontal disease. Hence, the present study was undertaken to assess the impact of smoking on serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) levels in smokers with periodontitis and its potential role as a risk indicator of the disease process. 40 subjects (15 smokers and 15 non-smokers with chronic periodontitis, 10 healthy controls) were included in the study. Smoking history was assessed according to a standardized interview and a questionnaire, Fagerstom Test for Nicotine Dependence. Serum immunoglobulin IgG was estimated with immunoturbidimetric assay. IgG levels were significantly decreased with longer duration of smoking. In addition levels of serum IgG were significantly lower in smokers compared to non-smokers with chronic periodontitis and healthy controls (P current observations indicate that cigarette smoking may be associated with the suppression of B-cell function and immunoglobulin production. The alteration of antibody levels further explains the potential mechanism by which smoking exacerbates periodontal disease. Further studies at the molecular level may highlight the specific mechanism by which tobacco can interact with cells of the immune system and its impact on periodontal disease process. Additional controlled, longitudinal studies may expound the significance of serum antibodies as potential markers for periodontal disease.

We present the semileptonic decay of Bc meson in a QcD potential model with the coulombic part of the cornell potential -4αs/3r+br+c as perturbation. computing the slope and curvature of Isgur Wise function in this approach, we study the pseudoscalar and vector form factors for the transition of Bc meson to its S wave charmonium states. Numerical estimates of widths for the transitions of Bc→J|ψ(ηc)lv1 are presented.

An all-optical 2-to-4 decoder unit with the assist of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) is presented. The all-optical 2-to-4 decoder with a set of all-optical switches is designed which can be used to achieve a high-speed central processor unit using optical hardware. The unique output lines can be used for all-optical header processing. We attempt to develop an integrated all-optical circuit which can perform decoding of signal. This scheme is very simple and flexible for performing different logic operation and to design advanced complex logic. Simulated results are confirming the described methods.

Plant Defense against Necrotrophic Pathogens

Necrotrophic pathogenic bacteria, fungi and oomycetes are widely distributed and are responsible for significant crop losses. Host plants deploy different defense mechanisms and appropriate immune responses to defend them against these pathogens. Regardless of the pathogen’s lifestyle, infection activates plant immune responses either through Pathogen/Microbe Associated Molecular Pattern (P/MamP) or through Effector Triggered Immunity (ETI). However, as R-genes are not usually associated with resistance to necrotrophs, resistance is largely dependent on the balanced interplay between crucial phytohormones in complex signaling pathways involving jasmonic acid (JA), ethylene, salicylic acid (SA) and abscisic acid (ABA). An increase in salicylic acid levels enhances susceptibility to necrotrophic pathogens but promotes resistance to hemibiotrophs, whereas a deficiency in SA or SA signaling has either no significant impact or affects resistance only at the primary infection site. The same fashion is observed for JA signaling system that appears to elicit resistance against diseases caused by necrotrophic pathogens and can trigger systemic immunity conferring resistance against them. On the other hand, ABA can play a positive or negative role in plant defense responses to necrotrophs as ABA-mediated defense responses are dependent on specific plant-pathogen interactions. Understanding plant immune response against necrotrophic pathogens may lead to the development of resistant or tolerant crop cultivars.

The oxidative burst is a critical early event in plant-pathogen interactions that leads to a localized, programmed cell death (PcD) called the hypersensitive response (HR). The HR and associated PcD retard infection by biotrophic pathogens, but can, in fact, enhance infection by necrotrophic pathogens like Botrytis cinerea. In addition to signaling the induction of the HR, reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced during the oxidative burst are?antimicrobial. We hypothesize that pathogens such as B. cinerea survive the antimicrobial effects of ROS, at least partially by secreting the antioxidant mannitol during infection. This is supported by the previous observation that overexpression of the catabolic enzyme mannitol dehydrogenase (MTD) can decrease a plants susceptibility to mannitol-secreting pathogens like B. cinerea. To extend the above hypothesis, and test the general utility of this approach in an important horticultural crop, we overexpressed celery MTD in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum cv. “Moneymaker”). In these studies, we observed a significant increase (up to 90%) in resistance to B. cinerea in transgenic tomatoes expressing high amounts of MTD.

背景维生素A、维生素D和维生素E均为脂溶性维生素;维生素A的主要生理作用是维持视觉、维护上皮组织细胞的健康、促进免疫球蛋白的合成、维持骨骼正常生长发育和促进生长与生殖;维生素D的主要生理作用是调节机体钙磷代谢和骨骼发育;维生素E的主要生理作用是一种很强的抗氧化剂,对抗衰老、维持人类内分泌和生殖系统功能具有重要作用。本课题是在进行维生素A、维生素D和维生素E其他相关课题研究时观察到的一些现象,并进行了临床分析。该研究旨在了解维生素A、维生素D和维生素E与常见儿童疾病之间的关系,为患病儿童维生素A、维生素D和维生素E的补充提供依据。方法回顾性分析2017年至2018年因病在新乡医学院第三附属医院儿科就诊的部分儿童,其中1129例被给予血清维生素A检测,其中262例被给予血清维生素D检测,其中1224例被给予血清维生素E检测;本别收集上述儿童年龄,性别,疾病临床诊断和血清维生素A,血清维生素D,血清维生素E检测结果的统计数据。检测血清维生素A,维生素D和维生素E的方法是采用高效液相色谱法(HPLc)。结果本组1129例患儿被进行了血清维生素A含量测定,年龄0～18岁,不同年龄组间血清维生素A水平有显著性差异(F=4.530,P=0.0014),年龄越小,血清维生素A水平越低;但是在男女性别间血清维生素A水平无显著性差异。本组1129例患儿中253例同时罹患有肺炎;上述253例肺炎患儿中155例同时存在维生素A缺乏症,其维生素A缺乏症的发病率为61.27%,血清维生素A缺乏率在各年龄组之间也有显著性差异,年龄越小,维生素A缺乏率越高(χ2=20.124,P=0.0005);本组1129例患儿中145例同时罹患反复呼吸道感染;上述145例反复呼吸道感染患儿中48例同时存在维生素A缺乏症,其维生素A缺乏症的发病率为33.10%,但是血清维生素A缺乏率在各年龄组之间无显著性差异(χ2=2.6894,P=0.6111);本组1129例患儿中48例同时罹患肥胖症;上述48例肥胖症患儿血清维生素A水平有显著性差异(F=8.461,P=0.0001)。本组262例患者被检测血清维生素D含量,年龄0～18岁,不同年龄组血清维生素D水平有显著性差异(F=24.83,P<0.0001);但是在男女性别间血清维生素D水平无显著性差异(t=0.6875,P=0.4924)。上述262病例中79例同时罹患肺炎;上述79例肺炎患者血清维生素D水平均低于50μg/L,其中67例也有维生素D缺乏症,但各组患者维生素D缺乏症的发生率在各年龄组均无显著性差异(χ2=4.5133,P=0.2111);上述262病例中25例同时罹患反复呼吸道感染;上述25例反复呼吸道感染患儿血清维生素D水平均低于50μg/L;上述25例反复呼吸道感染患儿各年龄组血清维生素D水平也存在显著差异(F=5.393,P=0.0065);但是,上述25例反复呼吸道感染患儿维生素D缺乏症的发生率在各年龄组均无显著性差异(χ2=5.5903,P=0.1334)。本组1224例被检测血清维生素E含量,各年龄组血清维生素E水平差异有显著性(F=12.04,P<0.0001);本组1224例儿童中245例同时合并肺炎;245例肺炎患儿中有13例存在维生素E缺乏症,但各组间维生素E缺乏症发生率无显著性差异(χ2=7.5274,P=0.1105)。结论患病儿童血清维生素A、维生素D和维生素E存在不同程度降低,患儿罹患疾病过程中及时补充维生素A、维生素D和维生素E是必要的。
