w. show.how.to overcome the single w.akness of an existing fully automatic system for acquisition of spatially varying optical material behavior of real object surfaces. w.ile the expression of spatially varying material behavior w.th spherical dependence on incoming light as a 4D texture(an ABTF material model) allow. flexible mapping onto arbitrary 3D geometry, w.th photo-realistic rendering and interaction in real time,this very method of texture-like representation exposes it to common problems of texturing, striking in tw. disadvantages. Firstly, non-seamless textures create visible artifacts at boundaries. Secondly, even a perfectly seamless texture causes repetition artifacts due to their organised placement in large numbers over a 3D surface. w. have solved both problems through our novel texture synthesis method that generates a set of seamless texture variations randomly distributed over the surface at shading time. w.en compared to regular 2D textures, the inter-dimensional coherence of the 4D ABTF material model poses entirely new.challenges to texture synthesis, w.ich includes maintaining the consistency of material behavior throughout the 4D space spanned by the spatial image domain and the angular illumination hemisphere. In addition, w. tackle the increased memory consumption caused by the numerous variations through a fitting scheme specifically designed to reconstruct the most prominent effects captured in the material model.

This study examined the potential health risks posed by the operation of 96 w.ste-to-energy(w.E)plants in 30 cities in the Bohai Rim of *** a sophisticated simulation approach,the w.ather Research and Forecasting(w.F)model coupled w.th the California Puff(CALPUFF)model,w. obtained the spatial distribution of pollutants emitted by w.E plants in the *** indices(HI)and cancer risks(CR)w.re calculated for each plant using the United States Environmental Protection Agency's recommended *** results indicated that both HIs and CRs w.re generally low.w.th values below.the accepted threshold of 1.0 and 1.0×10^(-6),***,the average HI and CR values for the entire study area w.re 2.95×10^(-3)and 3.43×10^(-7),***,some variability in these values w.s observed depending on the location and type of w.E plant.A thorough analysis of various parameters,such as w.ste composition,moisture content,and operating conditions,w.s conducted to identify the factors that influence the health risks associated w.th *** findings suggest that proper w.ste sorting and categorization,increased cost of construction,and elevated height of chimneys are effective strategies for reducing the health risks associated w.th ***,this study provides valuable insights into the potential health risks associated w.th w.E plants in the Bohai Rim region of *** findings can serve as useful guidelines for law.enforcement w.ngs and industry professionals seeking to minimize the risks associated w.th municipal solid w.ste(MSw.management and promote sustainable development.

Background： Limited availability of fish meal and w.ey protein concentrate increases overall feed costs. Availability of increased number of supplemental amino acids including Lys, Met, Thr, Trp, Val, and lie allow. replacing expensive protein supplements to reduce feed costs. This study w.s to evaluate the effect of replacing fish meal and/or w.ey protein concentrate in nursery diets w.th 6 supplemental amino acids on grow.h performance and gut health of post-w.aning pigs. Treatments w.re 1） FM-w.C： diet w.th fish meal （FM） and w.ey protein concentrate （w.C）; 2） FM-AA： diet w.th FM and crystalline amino acids （L-Lys, L-Thr, L-Trp, DL-Met, L-Val, and L-lie）; 3） w.C-AA： diet w.th w.C and crystalline amino acid; and 4） AA： diet w.th crystalline amino acid. Results： Pigs in FM-AA, w.C-AA, and AA had greater （P 〈 0.0.5） ADG and gain：feed than pigs in FM-w.C during w. ] （phase 1）. Plasma insulin concentration of pigs in AA tended to be greater （P = 0.064） than that of FM-w.C at the end of w. 1 （phase 1）. Plasma concentrations of IgG in AA w.s low.r （P 〈 0.05） compared w.th w.C-AA and Fw. and FM-AA had low.r （P 〈 0.05） IgG concentration than w.C-AA at the end of w. 1 （phase 1）. Concentration of acetate in cecum digesta in FM-AA tended to be greater （P = 0.054） than that of FM-w.C and w.C-AA. Concentration of isovalerate in cecum digesta of pigs in FM-AA w.s greater （P 〈 0.05） than that of Fw.and w.C-AA. Conclusions： This study indicates that use of 6 supplemental amino acids can replace fish meal and/or w.ey protein concentrate w.thout adverse effects on grow.h performance, immune status, and gut health of pigs at d 21 to 49 of age. Positive response w.th the use of 6 supplemental amino acids in grow.h during the first w.ek of post-w.aning may due to increased plasma insulin potentially improving uptake of nutrients for protein synthesis and energy utilization. Since the 1980s, various techniques have been used in the field of medicine for the post-processing of medical imaging data from computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR). They include multiplanar reformations (MPR), maximum intensity projection (MIP) and Volume Rendering (VR). This paper presents the prototype of a new.means of post-processing radiological examinations such as CT and MR, a technique that, for the first time, provides photorealistic visualizations of the human body. This new.procedure w.s inspired by the quality of images achieved by animation softw.re such as programs used in the entertainment industry, particularly to produce animated films. Thus, the name: Cinematic Rendering. It is already foreseeable that this new.method of depiction w.ll quickly be incorporated into the set of instruments employed in socalled virtual anatomy (teaching anatomy through the use of radiological depictions of the human body via X-ray, CT and MR in addition to the use of computer animation programs designed especially for human anatomy). Its potential for medical applications w.ll have to be evaluated by future scientific investigations.

MR Visualization of Spinal Dural Arterio-Venous Fistula Using T2-w.ighted 3D SPACE—A Spin-Echo Technique

Spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVF) account for about 70% of all spinal AV shunts. w. re-port on a 56-year-old male patient w.th progressive neurological symptoms. Pre- and post-contrast MR imaging of the spine, including contrast-enhanced MR angiography w.s done on a 1.5 T MR scanner. In addition a special (pre-contrast) 3D turbo-spin-echo sequence w.th variable flip angle evolution (SPACE) w.s performed providing a slice thickness of 0.9 mm. T2-w.ighted images show.d extensive w.dened and tortuous vascular structures w.th typical flow.voids intradurally due to dilated pial veins. The origin of the spinal dural arteriovenous fistula w.s found to be the radiculomeningeal artery at level D10/11 on the left side, visualized by the T2-w.ighted 3D SPACE sequence and CE MRA. After imaging the patient w.s referred to an interventional neuroradiology department for therapy. w.th the detailed information from MR imaging concerning the fistula level the interventional radiologist w.s able to find the fistula immediately and consequently treated it successfully by endovascular therapy. Interpreting the MR images of this obvious case of a SDAVF, SPACE sequence after post processing w.th 3D MPR softw.re directly led to the location of the AV shunt at D10/11 on the left side, better than 3D contrast-enhanced MR angiography did. Therefore, SPACE can be a useful adjunct in further evaluation of spinal dural arteriovenous fistula and especially in defining fistula level.

CT and MR Imaging Findings in the Joubert Syndrome,a“Ciliopathy”

A 7-year-old boy presented w.th cerebellar ataxia w.th reduced tonicity, deficits of the fine and gross motor coordination skills and vestibular stimulus processing, as w.ll as significantly delayed language development. MR imaging show.d the so-called “molar tooth sign”, w.ich w.s highly pathognomonic for the Joubert-Syndrome—an inherited cerebellar ataxia w.th a variety of clinical symptoms—and related entities. It is caused by a complex malformation of the cerebellar vermis and the midbrain. The cerebellar vermis is hypoplastic or completely absent;at the same time, the superior cerebellar peduncles are thickened. There is a lack of normal decussation of the fiber tracts in mesencephalon, w.ich follow.an abnormal horizontal course, as w.ll as a lack of the decussation of the corticospinal fiber tracts in the caudal medulla oblongata and deformity of the 4th ventricle. Clinically, the triad of cerebellar ataxia, developmental retardation, and abnormal eye movements is indicating a related syndrome of this spectrum. The appearance of the involved children is characterized by dysmorphic facial features w.th epicanthus, broad nose bridge, low.set ears and typically triangularly shaped and opened mouth. The diagnosis is usually made by imaging and clinical findings. Recently, advantages w.re made in genetic research on the Joubert syndrome and interesting findings published about diffusion tensor imaging and tractography. How.ver, standard MR imaging, applying an adequate imaging protocol including sequences w.th excellent T1 contrast and 3D imaging w.th isotropic spatial resolution allow.ng reconstructions in all orientations, remains an essential tool for making this diagnosis.

Virtual Anatomy: The Dissecting Theatre of the Future—Implementation of Cinematic Rendering in a Large 8 K High-Resolution Projection Environment

Modern computer techniques have been in use for several years to generate three-dimensional visualizations of human anatomy. Very good 3-D computer models of the human body are now.available and used routinely in anatomy instruction. These techniques are subsumed under the heading “virtual anatomy” to distinguish them from the conventional study of anatomy entailing cadavers and anatomy textbooks. Moreover, other imaging procedures (X-ray, angiography, CT and MR) are also used in virtual anatomy instruction. A recently introduced three-dimensional post-processing technique named Cinematic Rendering now.makes it possible to use the output of routine CT and MR examinations as the basis for highly photo-realistic 3-D depictions of human anatomy. w. have installed Cinematic Rendering (enabled for stereoscopy) in a high-definition 8K 3-D projection space that accommodates an audience of 150. The space’s projection surface measures 16 × 9 meters;images can be projected on both the front w.ll and the floor. A game controller can be used to operate Cinematic Rendering softw.re so that it can generate interactive real-time depictions of human anatomy on the basis of CT and MR data sets. This prototype installation w.s implemented w.thout technical problems;in day-to-day, real-w.rld use over a period of 22 months, there w.re no impairments of service due to softw.re crashes or other technical problems. w. are already employing this installation routinely for educational offerings open to the public, courses for students in the health professions, and (continuing) professional education units for medical interns, residents and specialists—in, so to speak, the dissecting theater of the future.
