In the year 2018,the world witnessed the finale of the race to sequence the genome of the world’s most widely grown crop,the common *** has been known to bear a notoriously large and complicated genome of a polyploidy nature.A decade competition to sequence the wheat genome initiated with a single consortium of multiple countries,taking a conventional strategy similar to that for sequencing Arabidopsis and rice,became ferocious over time as both sequencing technologies and genome assembling methodologies *** different stages,multiple versions of genome sequences of the same variety(e.g.,Chinese Spring)were produced by several groups with their special ***,16 years after the rice genome was finished and 9 years after that of maize,the wheat research community now possesses its own reference *** with these genomics tools,wheat will reestablish itself as a model for polyploid plants in studying the mechanisms of polyploidy evolution,domestication,genetic and epigenetic regulation of homoeolog expression,as well as defining its genetic diversity and breeding on the genome *** enhanced resolution of the wheat genome should also help accelerate development of wheat cultivars that are more tolerant to biotic and/or abiotic stresses with better quality and higher yield.

WheatGene: A genomics database for common wheat and its related species

Common wheat(Triticum aestivum) is a hexaploid plant(AABBDD) derived from genetically related tetraploid wheat T. turgidum(AABB) and a diploid goatgrass Aegilops tauschii(DD). Recent advances in sequencing technology and genome assembly strategies allow the acquisition of multiple wheat genomes, calling for a centralized database to store, manage and query the genomics information in a manner to reflect their evolutionary relationship and to perform effective comparative genome analysis. Here,we built WheatGene, a database that contains five wheat genomes of 318,102 genes and 945,900 transcripts and their expression information in 998 RNA-seq samples that can be searched and compared in an interactive manner. WheatGene was developed with Drupal, a popular content management system and the toolkit Tripal managed the biological information. The database was accessible through a web browser with species, search, gene expression, tools, and literature entries. Tools available were BLAST,synteny viewer, map viewer, JBrowse, data downloads, gene expression heatmap and bar chart, and homologs viewer. Moreover, the map viewer connected genomics data with genetic maps and QTL that can be searched for markers for molecular breeding. WheatGene was developed with open-source modules and libraries. Validity of automated refraction after segmented refractive multifocal intraocular lens implantation

AIM： To evaluate the clinical utility of automated refraction（AR） and keratometry（KR） compared with subjective or manifest refraction（MR） after cataract or refractive lens exchange surgery with implantation of Lentis Mplus X（Oculentis GmbH） refractive multifocal intraocular lens（IOL）.METHODS： Eighty-six eyes implanted with the Lentis Mplus X multifocal IOL were included. MR was performed in all patients followed by three consecutive AR measurements using the Topcon KR-8000 autorefractor. Assessment of repeatability of consecutive AR before and after dilation with phenylephrine 10%, and comparison of the AR and KR with MR using vector analysis were performed at 3 mo ***： Analysis showed excellent repeatability of the AR measurements. Linear regression of AR versus MR showed good correlation for sphere and spherical equivalent, whereas the correlation for astigmatism was low. The mean difference AR-MR was-1.28±0.29 diopters（D） for sphere. Astigmatism showed better correlation between KR and MR. CONCLUSION： We suggest AR sphere plus 1.25 D and the KR cylinder as the starting point for MR in eyes with a Lentis Mplus X multifocal IOL. If AR measurements are equal to MR, decentration of the IOL should be suspected.

How to improve colon cancer screening rates

Colorectal carcinoma is a common cause of death throughout the world and may be prevented by routine control, which can detect precancerous neoplasms and early cancers before they undergo malignant transformation or metastasis. Three strategies may improve colon cancer screening rates: convince the population about the importance of undergoing a screening test; achieve higher efficacy in standard screening tests and make them more available to the community and develop new more sensitive and efficacious screening methods and make them available as routine tests. In this light, the present study seeks to review these three means through which to increase colon cancer screening rates.

A New Approach to State Estimation for Uncertain Linear Systems in a Moving Horizon Estimation Setting

This paper addresses the state estimation problem for linear systems with additive uncertainties in both the state and output equations using a moving horizon approach. Based on the full information estimation setting and the game-theoretic approach to the H∞filtering, a new optimization-based estimation scheme for uncertain linear systems is proposed, namely the H∞-full information estimator, H∞-fIE in short. In this formulation, the set of processed data grows with time as more measurements are received preventing recursive formulations as in Kalman filtering. To overcome the latter problem, a moving horizon approximation to the H∞-fIE is also presented, the H∞-MHE in short. This moving horizon approximation is achieved since the arrival cost is suitably defined for the proposed scheme. Sufficient conditions for the stability of the H∞-MHE are derived. Simulation results show the benefits of the proposed scheme when compared with two H∞filters and the well-known Kalman filter.
