Overweight and obesity in children are an increasing public health problem,and the influence the gut microbiota has on it,is still *** consumption of prebiotics has been studied in children with overweight and obesity after an intervention with fermented milk,supplemented with different fructans like prebiotics,was carried out to obtain a healthy *** were randomly assigned into three groups,a double-blind intervention was carried out,receiving different fermented milk products for 6 weeks,including the following supplements:Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota,*** strain Shirota with inulin or *** strain Shirota with fructans from Agave salmiana Otto ex *** was extracted from stool samples and the differential abundance of ASV was monitored by high throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing.A synbiotic with fructans from *** stimulated the abundance and diversity of the microbiota,specifically on genera Faecalibacterium and Holdemanella,thus,leading to a healthier gut microbiota,which led to obtaining the best anthropometric changes in synbiotic *** intervention may provide health benefits to children with overweight or obesity by increasing the richness of the gut microbiota and stimulate beneficial ***,more studies are needed to get a better understanding of the mechanisms of action.

A pilot study of the modulation of sirtuins on arylamine N-acetyltransferase 1 and 2 enzymatic activity

Arylamine N-acetyltransferase(NAT; E.C. 2.***.1.5) enzymes are responsible for the biotransformation of several arylamine and hydrazine drugs by acetylation. In this process, the acetyl group transferred to the acceptor substrate produces NAT deacetylation and, in consequence, it is susceptible of degradation. Sirtuins are protein deacetylases, dependent on nicotine adenine dinucleotide,which perform post-translational modifications on cytosolic proteins. To explore possible sirtuin participation in the enzymatic activity of arylamine NATs, the expression levels of NAT1, NAT2,SIRT1 and SIRT6 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(pBMC) from healthy subjects were examined by flow cytometry and Western blot. The in situ activity of the sirtuins on NAT enzymatic activity was analyzed by HpLC, in the presence or absence of an agonist(resveratrol) and inhibitor(nicotinamide) of sirtuins. We detected a higher percentage of positive cells for NAT2 in comparison with NAT1, and higher numbers of SIRT1t cells compared to SIRT6 in lymphocytes. In situ NAT2 activity in the presence of NAM inhibitors was higher than in the presence of its substrate, but not in the presence ofresveratrol. In contrast, the activity of NAT1 was not affected by sirtuins. These results showed that NAT2 activity might be modified by sirtuins.

Acute pulmonary Embolism, Multiple Coronary Thrombosis, and Thrombi in the Left Ventricle and Ascending Aorta in a patient with COVID-19 Infection

Both arterial and venous thromboembolic events are common in patients hospitalized in intensive care units with severe COVID-19. These patients often have laboratory findings consistent with a hypercoagulable state, suggesting widespread thrombosis and fibrinolysis, as well as elevated levels of D-dimer, von Willebrand factor (VWF), and factor VIII. There is increasing evidence that these thromboembolic events are associated with worse outcomes. We present the case of a 61-year-old man admitted for bilateral pneumonia due to COVID-19 infection, who developed during his hospitalization;Bilateral pulmonary thromboembolism, an acute myocardial infarction due to multiple coronary thrombosis, an intracavitary thrombus and thrombus in the ascending aorta. The patient was treated with systemic fibrinolysis and full doses of anticoagulation for pulmonary embolism, an emergency primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pCI) was performed with the implant of a drug eluting stent (DES) in the left anterior descending artery (LAD). Triple therapy with aspirin, clopidogrel and heparin was maintained until discharge. After the patient discharge, aspirin was stopped and treatment with clopidogrel and dabigatran was maintained for three months. In a subsequent outpatient control, the thrombi of the left ventricle and the ascending aorta resolved.

CRISpR/Cas9 editing of the polygalacturonase FapG1 gene improves strawberry fruit firmness

Firmness is one of the most important fruit quality traits in *** postharvest shelf life of this soft fruit is highly limited by the loss of firmness,where cell wall disassembly plays an important *** studies demonstrated that the polygalacturonase FapG1 has a key role in remodelling pectins during strawberry *** this study,FapG1 knockout strawberry plants have been generated using the CRISpR/Cas9 system delivered via Agrobacterium *** independent lines,cv.“Chandler”,were obtained,and all of them were successfully edited as determined by pCR amplification and T7 endonuclease *** targeted mutagenesis insertion and deletion rates were analyzed using targeted deep *** percentage of edited sequences varied from 47%up to almost 100%,being higher than 95%for seven of the selected *** analyses showed that 7 out of the eight lines analyzed produced fruits significantly firmer than the control,ranging from 33 to 70%increase in *** was a positive relationship between the degree of FapG1 editing and the rise in fruit *** changes were observed in other fruit quality traits,such as colour,soluble solids,titratable acidity or anthocyanin *** fruits showed a reduced softening rate during postharvest,displayed a reduced transpirational water loss,and were less damaged by Botrytis cinerea *** analysis of four potential off-target sites revealed no mutation *** conclusion,editing the FapG1 gene using the CRISpR/Cas9 system is an efficient method for improving strawberry fruit firmness and shelf life.

Crystallographic properties of the Unsupported Ni-Mo Carbides phases

In the present work, the crystallographic properties of unsupported Ni-Mo catalyst serie were carried out. They were synthesized with a ratio of Mo from 10, 25, 50 to 75 wt%. The final catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to identify crystallographic phases present in the solids using DRXwinsoftware version 2.3. The crystal size was determinated by Bragg’s law. Ni-Mo catalyst model (MoC-75) structure was modeled by Carine Crystallography Software version 3.1 which was built based on its space group and atomic positions which were previous the results of XRD. Characteristical phases of Ni-Mo Carbides were identified for their typical planes (111), (200) and (311) for Ni-Mo series and the plane (101) for the a Mo-C series.

In this work we consider black hole solutions to Einstein’s theory coupled to a nonlinear powerlaw electromagnetic field with a fixed exponent *** study the extended phase space thermodynamics in canonical and grand canonical ensembles,where the varying cosmological constant plays the role of an effective thermodynamic *** examine thermodynamical phase transitions in such black holes and find that both first-and second-order phase transitions can occur in the canonical ensemble while,for the grand canonical ensemble,Hawking-page and second-order phase transitions are allowed.

＜正＞Apical necrosis is a widely distributed disease in the culture of the marine agar producing alga,Gracilariopsis *** this study,16 strains of epiphytic bacteria were isolated from the tip bleaching parts of ***,of them,two strains could induce healthy algal tips to become necrotic *** were identified as Thalassospira *** Vibrio parahaemolyticus,respectively,by 16S rDNA sequence analysis and biochemical *** solid phase microextraction （SpME） and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry（GC-MS）,the variation of volatile metabolites of *** infected by two strains of pathogenic bacteria was *** results showed that E-2-nonenal and l-octen-3-one differed very significant（p＜0.01） between the Thalassospira infected group and the control group, while trichloromethane,3-methyl butanal,benzaldehyde and E-2-decenal differed significantly（p＜0.05）.The difference of l-octen-3-one,benzaldehyde and E-2-nonenal between the Vibrio parahaemolyticus infected group and the control group was very significant（p＜0.01）,while 3-methyl butanal and octanal were significantly different （p＜0.05）.In conclusion,l-octen-3-one,E-2-nonenal and benzaldehyde might be the characteristic metabolites for the pathogenic infection,and could be used as biomarkers for the disease prevention of ***.

BACKGROUND： The interpretation of non-verbal social signals relies heavily on the ability to perceive biological motion. The posterior superior temporal sulcus is an important part of a network involved in biological motion processing. However, the underlying functional organization remains poorly understood. Several studies have suggested topographical representation of motion from different body parts within this region. However, other studies have shown that the posterior superior temporal sulcus responds equally to any body part. OBJECTIVE： Through the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging, the effects of socially relevant biological motion stimuli to activate a specific cortical area within posterior superior temporal sulcus, even if different body parts are involved in motion, will be analyzed. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A functional magnetic resonance imaging, block-design was performed at the Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Surgical Medical Investigation Center, Havana, Cuba between 2004 and 2005. pARTICIpANTS： Thirteen healthy volunteers, from 19 to 55 years of age and compris!ng eight males and five females, were included in the study. METHODS： A conjunction analysis of responses to natural, dynamic, fearful, facial expressions and point-light, body-motion animations. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： The corresponding functionally specialized areas, as well as neural areas significant for both types of stimuli, were identified. RESULTS： One region within the posterior superior temporal sulcus of the right hemisphere was equally activated by facial and body complex motion. CONCLUSION： A site of common neural activity existed within the posterior superior temporal sulcus, which was not specific to a biological motion type. In addition, the activity was not related to a topographically organized body-part map, which suggested high-level visual representation of biological motion in this region.
