Towards a lightweight security framework using blockchain and machine learning

Cyber-attacks pose a significant challenge to the security of Internet of Things(IoT)sensor networks,necessitating the development of robust countermeasures tailored to their unique characteristics and *** prevention and detection techniques have been proposed to mitigate these *** this paper,we propose an integrated security framework using blockchain and Machine Learning(ML)to protect IoT sensor *** framework consists of two modules:a blockchain prevention module and an ML detection *** blockchain prevention module has two lightweight mechanisms:identity management and trust *** management employs a lightweight Smart Contract(SC)to manage node registration and authentication,ensuring that unauthorized entities are prohibited from engaging in any tasks,while trust management uses a lightweight SC that is responsible for maintaining trust and credibility between sensor nodes throughout the network’s lifetime and tracking historical node *** and transaction validation are achieved through a Verifiable Byzantine Fault Tolerance(VBFT)mechanism to ensure network reliability and *** ML detection module utilizes the Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LightGBM)algorithm to classify malicious nodes and notify the blockchain network if it must make decisions to mitigate their *** investigate the performance of several off-the-shelf ML algorithms,including Logistic Regression,Complement Naive Bayes,Nearest Centroid,and Stacking,using the wSN-DS *** is selected following a detailed comparative analysis conducted using accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,processing time,training time,prediction time,computational complexity,and Matthews Correlation Coefficient(MCC)evaluation metrics.

Security and safety remain paramount concerns for both governments and individuals *** today’s context,the frequency of crimes and terrorist attacks is alarmingly increasing,becoming increasingly intolerable to ***,there is a pressing need for swift identification of potential threats to preemptively alert law enforcement and security forces,thereby preventing potential attacks or violent *** advancements in big data analytics and deep learning have significantly enhanced the capabilities of computer vision in object detection,particularly in identifying *** paper introduces a novel automatic firearm detection surveillance system,utilizing a one-stage detection approach named MARIE(Mechanism for Realtime Identification of Firearms).MARIE incorporates the Single Shot Multibox Detector(SSD)model,which has been specifically optimized to balance the speed-accuracy trade-off critical in firearm detection *** SSD model was further refined by integrating MobileNetV2 and InceptionV2 architectures for superior feature extraction *** experimental results demonstrate that this modified SSD configuration provides highly satisfactory performance,surpassing existing methods trained on the same dataset in terms of the critical speedaccuracy *** these innovations,MARIE sets a new standard in surveillance technology,offering a robust solution to enhance public safety effectively.

Comparison of drug release from liquid crystalline monoolein dispersions and solid lipid nanoparticles using a flow cytometric technique

Colloidal lipid particles such as solid lipid nanoparticles and liquid crystalline nanoparticles have great opportunities as drug carriers especially for lipophilic drugs intended for intravenous administration. In order to evaluate drug release from these nanoparticles and determine their behavior after administration, emulsion droplets were used as a lipophilic compartment to which the transfer of a model drug was measured. The detection of the model drug transferred from monoolein cubic particles and trimyristin solid lipid nanoparticles into emulsion droplets was performed using a flow cytometric technique. A higher rate and amount of porphyrin transfer from the solid lipid nanoparticles compared to the monoolein cubic particles was observed. This difference might be attributed to the formation of a highly ordered particle which leads to the expulsion of drug to the surface of the crystalline ***, the sponge-like structure of the monoolein cubic particles decreases the rate and amount of drug transferred. In conclusion, the flow cytometric technique is a suitable technique to study drug transfer from these carriers to large lipophilic acceptors. Monoolein cubic particles with their unique structure can be used successfully as a drug carrier with slow drug release compared with trimyristin nanoparticles.

Modeling Palestinian COVID-19 Cumulative Confirmed Cases:A Comparative Study

COVID-19 is still a major pandemic threatening all the *** Palestine,there were 26,764 COVID-19 cumulative confirmed cases as of 27th August *** this paper,two statistical approaches,autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)and k-th moving averages-ARIMA models are used for modeling the COVID-19 cumulative confirmed cases in *** data was taken from world Health Organization(wHO)website for one hundred seventy-six(176)days,from March 5,2020 through August 27,*** identified the best models for the above mentioned approaches that are ARIMA(1,2,4)and 5-th Exponential weighted Moving Average e ARIMA(2,2,3).Consequently,we recommended to use the 5-th Exponential weighted Moving Average e ARIMA(2,2,3)model in order to forecast new values of the daily cumulative confirmed cases in *** forecast values are alarming,and giving the Palestinian government a good picture about the next number of COVID-19 cumulative confirmed cases to review her activities and interventions and to provide some robust structures and measures to avoid these challenges.

Dynamic modeling of a three-dimensional braided composite thin plate considering braiding directions

Currently, there are a limited number of dynamic models available for braided composite plates with large overall motions, despite the incorporation of three-dimensional(3D) braided composites into rotating blade components. In this paper, a dynamic model of 3D 4-directional braided composite thin plates considering braiding directions is established. Based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions, the displacement variables of the plate are expressed. By incorporating the braiding directions into the constitutive equation of the braided composites, the dynamic model of the plate considering braiding directions is obtained. The effects of the speeds, braiding directions, and braided angles on the responses of the plate with fixed-axis rotation and translational motion, respectively, are investigated. This paper presents a dynamic theory for calculating the deformation of 3D braided composite structures undergoing both translational and rotational motions. It also provides a simulation method for investigating the dynamic behavior of non-isotropic material plates in various applications.

Olfactory ensheathing glia promote axonal regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system,including retinal ganglion cell axonal growth through the injured optic ***,it is unknown whether olfactory ensheathing glia also have neuroprotective *** ensheathing glia express brain-derived neurotrophic factor,one of the best neuroprotectants for axotomized retinal ganglion ***,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective capacity of olfactory ensheating glia after optic nerve *** ensheathing glia cells from an established rat immortalized clonal cell line,TEG3,were intravitreally injected in intact and axotomized retinas in syngeneic and allogeneic mode with or without microglial inhibition or immunosuppressive *** and gene expression analyses were *** bulb-derived primary olfactory ensheathing glia and TEG3 express major histocompatibility complex classⅡ*** and syngenically transplanted TEG3 cells survived in the vitreous for up to 21 days,forming an *** axotomized retinas,only the allogeneic TEG3 transplant rescued retinal ganglion cells at 7 days but not at 21 *** these retinas,microglial anatomical activation was higher than after optic nerve crush *** intact retinas,both transplants activated microglial cells and caused retinal ganglion cell death at 21 days,a loss that was higher after allotransplantation,triggered by pyroptosis and partially rescued by microglial inhibition or ***,neuroprotection of axotomized retinal ganglion cells did not improve with these *** different neuroprotective properties,different toxic effects,and different responses to microglial inhibitory treatments of olfactory ensheathing glia in the retina depending on the type of transplant highlight the importance of thorough preclinical studies to explore these variables.
