SnO2NPs were successfully prepared via a hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction analysis con fi rmed the rutile tetragonal structure of SnO2NPs. The crystallite size increased from 1.18 to 5.06 nm with increasing the preparation temperature from 100 to 180 °C. The SEM photography of the products exhibited the agglomeration of the SnO2nanocrystals to large view particles, while TEM images con fi rmed the polycrystalline phase and crystallite size those analyzed from XRD. The UV–vis absorption of ethanol suspended SnO2NPs was measured. The optical band-gap energies（Eg） were signi fi cantly blue-shifted due to quantum con fi nement. Fluorescence spectra came to con fi rm this shift, where a clear shift in the maximum emission peak was observed. Stokes shift of SnO2nanocrystals was found to be crystallite size dependent.

An investigation on oxidation behavior of coated Ni-based single crystal superalloy in different surface orientations has been carried out at1100 ℃. It has been found that the {100} surface shows a better oxidation resistance than the {110} one, which is attributed that the {110}surface had a slightly higher oxidation rate when compared to the {100} surface. The experimental results also indicated that the anisotropic oxidation behavior took place even with a very small difference in the oxidation rates that was found between the two surfaces. The differences of the topologically close packed phase amount and its penetration depth between the two surfaces, including the ratio of α-Al2O3 after 500 h oxidation, were responsible for the oxidation anisotropy.

The most frequent cause of raised methaemoglobin is from recreational drug use, with oxidation of the haem molecule leading to methaemoglobinaemia. Our case describes that of a man in his early thirties who presented with shortness of breath, hypoxia and methaemoglobinemia due to ingestion of impure cocaine mixed with local anaesthetic agents, a common cause of acquired methaemoglobinemia. This case report demonstrates the need for clinicians to consider methaemoglobinaemia as a differential diagnosis for patients presenting with hypoxia.

Carbofuran insecticide is one of the insecticides most often used by Indonesian *** United Nations Environment Program(UNEP)2011 in the decision of UNEP/FAO/RC/CRC.11/6,agreed that the active ingredient Carbofuran is dangerous to human health and the *** bacteria are known to be able to remediate carbofuran-contaminated *** study examines more deeply the biodegradation and biotransformation processes of Carbofuran in *** *** research was carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Diseases,Faculty of Agriculture,Brawijaya University;Analytical Chemistry Laboratory,State Polytechnic of Malang;and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory,Udayana University from February to August *** results showed that *** was able to degrade the insecticide Carbofuran in liquid media up to 82%and the growth of *** bacteria reached 2.9×10^(12) CFU/mL,bacteria *** is able to degrade the insecticide Carbofuran in a mixture of soil and compost up to 85%and the growth of *** bacteria reaches 7.5 x 1013 CFU/mL,resulting in Carbofuran insecticide derivatives from the biotransformation process,there are 3-hydroxy-7-phenol;2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-2,2,7-triol;(2Z)-2-[(2Z)-pent-2-en-1-ylidene]butane-1,4,4-trio;7-phenol;2,2,3-trihydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-7-yl hydrogen carbonate;2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-7-yl acetate;7-(hydroxymethoxy)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-2,2,3,5-tetrol;3-hidroksi-2-fenilpropil Carbamat;2-(3-hydroperoxy-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethane-1,1-diol,3-keto-7-fenol;4-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-one;3-hydroxy-carbofuran;and 7-methoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3,*** derivative compounds from the biodegradation of *** bacteria are less toxic than the active ingredient Carbofuran.

Aim: The present study evaluated the magnitude of temperature changes in the tooth during cavitation produced by an Er,Cr:YSGG laser. Methods: The root canal of a single extracted maxillary canine was enlarged to a size 30/.02 file. Four thermocouples were attached to the tooth: one to the surface of the root and three inserted into the canal at 3, 9, and 15 mm from the apical foramen, respectively. The tooth was placed in a plastic container at room temperature around 25°C. The tooth was processed as follows. In the EDTA condition, the tooth was irrigated with 17% EDTA;in the NaOCl condition, the tooth was irrigated with 3% NaOCl;and to analyse the effect of different thicknesses of dentin, the tooth was irrigated with tap water. In all conditions, the irrigants were activated at 2 W for 120 seconds. Results: The mean temperature was 25.2°C to 27.1°C and the temperature ranged from 25.0°C to 29.6°C. The temperature elevation measured during cavitation generated by the laser didnot exceed 5°C. Conclusions: The magnitude of the temperature changes in the root canal and at the surface of the tooth did not exceed 5°C when laser-driven irrigation was used to produce cavitation in the root canal.

Ten rock samples consisting of one pyroclastic density current(PDC1)deposit,seven lava flows(LF1–7),and two summit lava domes(LD1,2)were studied to understand the petrogenesis and magma dynamics at *** stratigraphy is arranged as LF1,PDC1,LF2,LF3,LF4,LF5,LF6,LF7,LD1,and LD2;furthermore,these rocks were divided into two ***Ⅰ,observed in the oldest(LF1)sample,has poor MgO and high Ba/Nb,Th/Yb and *** remaining samples(PDC1–LD2)represent typeⅡ,characterized by high MgO and low Ba/Nb,Th/Yb and Sr *** suggest that type I is derived from AOC(altered oceanic crust)-rich melts that underwent significant crustal assimilation,while typeⅡoriginates from mantle-rich melts with less significant crustal *** early stage of typeⅡmagma(PDC1–LF3)was considered a closed system,evolving basaltic andesite into andesite(55.0–60.2 wt%SiO_(2))with a progressively increasing phenocryst(0.30–0.48φ_(PC))and decreasing crystal size distribution(CSD)slope(from-3.9 to-2.9).The evidence of fluctuating silica and phenocryst contents(between 55.9–59.7 wt%and 0.25–0.41φ_(PC),respectively),coupled with the kinked and steep(from-5.0 to-3.3)CSD curves imply the interchanging condition between open(i.e.,magma mixing)and closed magmatic systems during the middle stage(LF4–LF6).Finally,it underwent to closed system again during the final stage(LF7–LD2)because the magma reached dacitic composition(at most 68.9 wt%SiO_(2))with abundant phenocryst(0.38–0.45φ_(PC))and gentle CSD slope(from-4.1 to-1.2).

Liver fibrosis is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity *** decades,plant secondary metabolites such as flavonoids and saponins have attained much consideration due to their safer therapeutic potential against chronic liver *** foenum-graecum(Common name“Fenugreek”)is an annual herb used as a spice to increase the taste and aroma of *** fresh leaves are used as food and are rich in *** the current study antifibrotic potential of Trigonella foenum-graecum flavonoid-rich leaf extract(TF)was evaluated in CCl4-induced hepatic fibrosis in *** ALT,AST,MDA,CAT,and GSH analysis illustrated that the treatment group significantly reverses CCl4-induced liver *** TF extract was found to be rich in quercetin and kaempferol derivatives analyzed through ESI-MS/*** four weeks of the TF treatment,hepatocyte architecture improved and collagen deposition in mice liver tissues reduced *** expression of fibrotic markers,including COL-IA,α-SMA,PDGF,and TIMP1,was downregulated,and MMP3 was upregulated significantly at mRNA and protein ***,TF significantly downregulated NF-κB expression and TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway and upregulated miR-146a and *** together,these results demonstrated that Trigonella foenum-graecum flavonoid-rich leaf extract ameliorated liver inflammatory and fibrogenic responses through miR-146a/miR-29b/TGF-β/Smad axis.

Improvement of Asphalt Properties Using Polymethyl Methacrylate

Increasing traffic loading and volumes on roads have led to the use of polymer modified binders to improve the performance of bitumen in terms of strength, durability, and resistance to rutting. This research studies the effect of adding poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) with different molecular weights on asphalt properties. PMMA polymer was prepared via solution polymerization of MMA using dibenzoyl peroxide (DBPO) as initiator. By controlling the time of reaction, two different molecular weights were obtained: PMMA1 and PMMA2 with Mw 21.000 and 30.000, respectively. The morphological studies of polymer modified binder were discussed. Physical properties of PMMA modified asphalt including penetration value, softening point, and kinematic viscosity at 135°C and 150°C were examined. The aging properties of polymer modified asphalts were examined using thin film oven test (TFOT). A hot storage stability test was carried out for polymer modified binder. Indirect tensile strength (ITS) test and durability performance of modified asphalts were evaluated using Marshall Test. Resilient modulus (RM) test was evaluated using Universal Testing Machine. Results showed that the inclusion of PMMA polymer in asphalt binder has significantly improved its properties. The achieved improvement was found to be dependent on polymer molecular weight. Moreover, the results explained that the compatibility between PMMA and asphalt binder is improved upon further aging especially with low molecular weight polymer (PMMA).
