Factors Associated with Unmet Need for Family Planning among Couples Living in Urban and Rural Areas of Guinea in 2019

Introduction: Unmet need for family planning (UNFP) is defined as women with unmet needs who want to stop or delay childbearing but are not using any method of contraception. The objective of this study was to analyze the factors associated with unmet needs for family planning among couples living in rural and urban areas of Guinea in 2019. Methodology: This was a prospective, analytical cross-sectional, multicenter study of a six-month period from August 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019, focusing on couples with unmet needs for family planning. Result: Among 189 couples interviewed, 567 had UNFP (33.3%), the reasons for not using modern contraceptive methods were desire for pregnancy (AOR = 2.74, 95% CI: 1.74, 4.31), husband’s refusal (AOR = 0.23, 95% CI: 0.06, 0.81), spousal attitude (AOR = 0.20, 95% CI: 0.130, 30), birth spacing (AOR = 2.10% to 95%: 1.16, 3.82), difficulty with a new pregnancy (AOR = 0.17, 95% CI: 0.04, 0.74), and spousal attitude (AOR = 0.20, 95% CI: 0.14, 0.30). Conclusion: The involvement of spouses, especially in rural communities, would help achieve family planning objectives and reduce unmet needs for family planning.

Environment psychologically affects *** to the base of cognitive psychology,there is a direct relationship between human behavior,environment,and emotional *** that pleasantness and unpleasantness are associated with peripheral nervous system activation,the current study aims to explore if the pleasant or unpleasant architectural places can stimulate the brain regions engaged in emotions or *** the main contribution,we used functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)measuring blood oxygenation level-dependent(BOLD)changes to effectively detect the brain’s region that mainly responds to the emotional-perceptual *** on the results of examining the emotional assessment model of “Pleasure-Arousal”applied to 140 students,30 most-rated images representing 15 pleasant and 15 unpleasant places were shown to 32 participants in a 1.5-T MRI *** applying standard preprocessing steps(re-alignment,slice-timing,coregistration,segmentation,normalization,and smoothing)to functional MR images,first-level analysis was applied to each *** results were evaluated using statistical corrections at different levels for female and male participants with the second-level *** conclusion,it has been shown that there is a significant linkage between environmental experience and brain activation so that the architectural qualities can change blood flow in specific brain regions.

The Use of Atypical Neuroleptics in Drugs Management in Fann’s Psychiatry Department

Background and Objectives: Neuroleptics have revolutionized pharmacological management in psychiatry. The advent of atypical neuroleptics constitutes a major turning point in this therapeutic challenge. The objective of our study was to determine the prescription of these atypical neuroleptics in Fann’s psychiatry department. Methodology: It was a descriptive retrospective cross-sectional study that involved 223 patients hospitalized in the psychiatry department of Fann Hospital during the period from January 2015 to December 2017. Results: Our study shows a majority prescription of classic neuroleptics in combination Haloperidol-Chlorpromazine 53% and 14% in monotherapy and a prescription of atypical neuroleptics at 4%. They are prescribed in combination with the classics at 4%. Conclusion: These results show a still low prescription of atypical neuroleptics which raises questions about the availability and affordability of such drugs, but also about prescription habits in the context of developing country.

This study aims to estimate the hydrodynamic properties of soils under various agricultural practices in the Tougou catchment in northern Burkina Faso. The methodology adopted is based on the determination of the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and capillary sorptivity close to saturation. This method relies on the measurement of the transient infiltration flux at the soil surface with imposed hydraulic head varying from -60 to -20 mm. These tests are carried out on control, stony line, half-moon and zai plots. The results show a difference in hydrodynamic parameters according to the agricultural practices. The unsaturated hydraulic conductivity is 33.1 cm/h, 13.1 cm/h, 20.3 cm/h and 4.0 cm/h for zai, control, stony line and half-moon plots respectively. The pores participating to water transfer also differ. The mean size of drainable pores is 43.7, 56.2, 22.3 and 87.2 pm on control, stony line, half-moon and zai plots respectively.

Introduction: Penetrating head injuries are often due to human-to-human violence, mainly by firearms, those by stab are rare. CT is the exam of choice in the assessment of emergency lesions. We report three observations, all victims of knife assault during the brawl in order to clarify the contribution of DTM in the care. Observations: 1) Mr. I S, 21-year-old, student, was admitted with the hillside implanted in the skull. There were traces of blood on his face and clothes. There was no neurological deficit on examination. The CT scan performed showed the knife penetrating the vault of the skull at the left parietal level, up to 5 cm in the cerebral parenchyma with a minimal subdural and intracerebral hematoma;2) Mr. S C, 43-year-old, farmer, admitted with a large left fronto-temporo-parietal wound, bleeding and right hemiplegia. The CT scan performed showed a frontal linear fracture (with fronto-ethmoid hemosinus) and left temporoparietal with a parietal intraparenchymal hematoma and homolateral frontoparietal subdural hematoma;3) Mr. S B: 40 years old, driver, admitted with a parietal wound. The CT scan performed objectified a left parietal cortical hematoma in relation to a metallic foreign body (3000 HU) corresponding to the distal end of the knife penetrating the vault of the skull. They all underwent emergency surgery and received antibiotics and preventive serotherapy. The postoperative follow-up was simple, the follow-ups are without neurological sequelae. Conclusion: Head trauma by knife is rare, it results from inter-human violence. The lesion diagnosis is computed tomography. The prognosis depends on the severity.

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) belongs to the soft tissue sarcomas that have striated muscle differentiation. It is most common in young children under 5 years of age and adolescents. The definite diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma is based on histology and the positivity of striated muscle markers in immunohistochemistry. Our objective was to describe the prognostic characteristics of RMS diagnosed in Dakar. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This was a retrospective and descriptive study spread over nine (09) years from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2019. It was conducted from the histological report archives of the anatomy and pathology laboratories of Dakar. Paraffin blocks were reread and immunohistochemically studied by manual method. Antidesmin and antimyogenin antibodies were used. RESULTS: We collected 44 patients with rhabdomyosarcoma out of 228 cases of soft tissue cancers, i.e. 19.29% of all malignant soft tissue tumours. The mean age of the patients was 25.41 ± 23.95 (standard deviation) years with a median age of 16 years and extremes of 6 months and 81 years. Patients were less than or equal to 17 years of age in 61.4% of cases. A clear male predominance was observed with 29 men (65.9%) against 15 women (34.1%). Rhabdomyosarcomas were located in the limbs in 34.1% of cases, in the head and neck in 29.5% of cases and in the genitourinary tract in 25% of cases. The average tumour size was 7.45 cm ± 4.64 (standard deviation) with a minimum of 2 cm and a maximum of 17 cm. It was greater than or equal to 5 cm in 15 patients (68.2%). Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) was the most frequent histological type with 34 cases (77.3%), followed by pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma 7 cases (15.9%) and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma 3 cases (6.8%). The histological subtypes of ERMS consisted of conventional ERMS (91.18%);botryoid RMS (5.88%) and spindle cell RMS (2.94%). In this study, a method for determining the intrinsic recombination velocity at the junction of a silicon solar cell is presented. The expression of intrinsic recombination velocity at the junction was established under irradiation in frequency modulation. Effect of Plumeria alba＇s Bioactive Extract against Colletotrichum gleosporoides in Vitro and in Vivo

Plant species in the genus Plumeria of Apocynaceae family are well known for their uses in traditional medicine antimicrobial activity. Plant materials from P. alba were extracted using Soxhlet apparatus and screened for the control of anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gleosporoides on fruit during post harvest storage. For in vitro, the crude extract of P. alba （stem bark and leaves） were completely inhibited conidial.germination （sporulation test method） of Colletotrichum gleosporoides at all concentration tested except the lowest concentration （4.4 uL）. In vivo studies show that percentage of infection on fruit after treated with both stem bark （11.11 ± 3.8） and leaves （15.55 ± 3.8） part, at 32,000 mg/L have no significant differences during seven days of storage at ambient temperatures. These results proved that P. alba extracted （stem bark and leaves） were found to be promising as an antifungal agent and to control anthracnose disease in fruits tested.
