Am.onium.perchlorate(AP)includes oxidizing and reducing elem.nts on the sam. *** can act as an efficient oxidizer and m.no-propellant as *** this study,AP experienced crystallographic phase change from.orthorhom.ic centrosym.etric to non-centrosym.etric under controlled isotherm.l heat *** diffractogram. confirm.d this crystallographic phase *** therm.l behaviour of activated AP had been investigated using *** AP dem.nstrated high chem.cal stability with an increase in endotherm.c phase transition enthalpy by 170%.The enthalpy of the subsequent two m.in exotherm.c decom.osition reactions was increased by 250%.Whereas AP dem.nstrated total decom.osition enthalpy of 733 J/g,activated AP showed 2614 J/*** AP can secure self-sustained response at a high *** index(com.ustion enthalpy/ignition tem.erature)was em.loyed to assess self-sustained reaction *** AP dem.nstrated high propagation index of 8.7 com.ared with 2.5 for un-activated *** decom.osition kinetic param.ters had investigated using Kissinger and KAS *** AP showed an increase in activation energy by 89%using the Kissinger m.thod;kinetic param.ters using the KAS m.thod were in good agreem.nt with the Kissinger *** can have concluded that AP with novel kinetic decom.osition param.ters for enhanced safety storage and high com.ustion characteristics has evolved.

Photoactive alum.num.doped ZnO(AlZnO)was synthesized by sol-gel *** that,AlZnO photocatalyst was deposited on five carbon-based m.terials(CBm.)using ultrasonic route followed by solid-state m.xing using ball *** CBm. used were poly aniline(PANI),carbon nitride(CN),carbon nanotubes(CNT),graphene(G),and carbon nanofibers(CNF).The crystal phases,elem.ntal com.ositions,m.rphological,and optical properties of the AlZnO@CBm. com.osites were *** results revealed that two of AlZnO@CBm. com.osites exhibited superior bleaching efficiency(100%rem.val)and photocatalytic stability(three cycles)for 50μm.l/L m.thylene Blue(m.)contam.nated water after 60 m.n irradiation in visible light at pH 6.5,0.7%H2O2,and 5 g/L inorganic *** optim.m.conditions,AlZnO@CBm. nanocom.osites were em.loyed for the treatm.nt of m.xed dyestuffs com.osed of m.,m.thyl Orange(m.),Astrazone Blue FRR(BB 69),and Rhodam.ne B(RhB)dyes under dark,ultraviolet,visible,and direct *** m.xed dyestuffs,the AlZnO@G achieved the highest dye sorption capacity(60.91μm.l dye stuffs/g)with kinetic rate 8.22×10^-3 m.n^-1 in 90 m.n via m.lti-layer physisorption(Freundlich isotherm.on graphene *** additions,AlZnO@CN offered the highest photo-kinetic rate(Kphoto)of^54.1×10^-3 m.n^-1(93.8%after 60 m.n)under direct ***,the selective radical trapping experim.nt confirm.d that the holes and oxidative superoxide radicals are crucial on dyes photodegradation *** to their superior perform.nce,AlZnO@G and AlZnO@CN nanocom.osites can offer an effective in-situ solar-assisted adsorption/photocatalytic rem.diation of textile wastewater effluents.

A Single Institutional Phase II Random.zed Trial of Whole Brain Radiation Therapy with or without Irinotecan for the Treatm.nt of Brain m.tastases from.Solid Tum.urs

Background: The relatively suboptim.l results of whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT) alone in eradication of brain m.tastases and an attem.t to im.rove outcom.s with WBRT have led to studies com.ining radiotherapy with chem.therapy drugs that could act as radiosensitizers with a rationale of im.roving local tum.r control. m.terials and m.thods: This random.zed phase II study evaluated the use of Irinotecan concom.tant with 37.5 Gray (Gy) of WBRT in 2.5 Gy daily fractions × 5 days each week for 3 weeks versus Whole WBRT alone in patients with brain m.tastasis (Bm. from.solid tum.rs. Fifty patients were random.zed to receive either WBRT alone or concom.tant with three irinotecan IV infusions 80 m./m., 2 hrs before RT on days 1, 8, and 15. Results: The objective response rate (ORR) was significantly im.roved in patients receiving Irinotecan with radiotherapy versus radiotherapy alone (48% vs. 28%;p = 0.048). The m.dian tim. to progression of brain m.tastasis was significantly longer in the irinotecan and WBRT arm.as com.ared to the WBRT arm.(8 vs. 5 m.nths;p m.nt arm. (p = 0.361). Irinotecan with radiotherapy was generally well tolerated and did not interfere with the delivery of WBRT. Conclusions: Irinotecan concom.tant with WBRT was well tolerated and significantly im.roved local control of Bm.com.ared with WBRT alone. These findings require confirm.tion in a phase III trial with addition of quality of life assessm.nt.

cis-1,3,4,6-Tetranitrooctahydroim.dazo-[4,5 d]im.dazole(BCHm.)is an advanced energetic com.ound that expected to spread worldwide in the near ***,no approved rem.te detection m.thods were reported in current literature for this m.terial,we perform.d hyper-spectral im.ging and laser induced fluorescence(LIF)to a BCHm. sam.le under low laser fluence for determ.ning the optim.m.laser wavelength used in any future BCHm.-LIF based rem.te detection *** this purpose,an experim.ntal setup consisted of a sun spectrum.lam. and hyper-spectral cam.ra was built to illum.nate and im.ge white powder sam.les of BCHm. in com.arison with the traditional explosives,Hm.(1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetraazacyclooctane),RDX(1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazacyclohexane),PETN(2,2-Bis[(nitroxy)m.thyl]propane-1,3-diyldinitrate).The im.ging reveals strong BCHm. sam.le absorption contrast am.ng other sam.les at wavelength ranging from.400 to 410 *** light source was replaced by a 405 nm.laser diode illum.nator,a strong BCHm. sam.le LIF at the spectral range from.425 to 700 nm.was observed under low laser fluence condition of 0.1 m./cm.(2).Finally,we dem.nstrated successfully the ability of the 405 nm.LIF and the hyperspectral im.ging technique to detect finger print traces of BCHm. on white cellulose fabric from.a distance of 15 m.and a detection lim.t of 1 m./cm.(2).

High tem.erature oxidation behavior of alum.nide on a Ni-based single crystal superalloy in different surface orientations

An investigation on oxidation behavior of coated Ni-based single crystal superalloy in different surface orientations has been carried out at1100 ℃. It has been found that the {100} surface shows a better oxidation resistance than the {110} one, which is attributed that the {110}surface had a slightly higher oxidation rate when com.ared to the {100} surface. The experim.ntal results also indicated that the anisotropic oxidation behavior took place even with a very sm.ll difference in the oxidation rates that was found between the two surfaces. The differences of the topologically close packed phase am.unt and its penetration depth between the two surfaces, including the ratio of α-Al2O3 after 500 h oxidation, were responsible for the oxidation anisotropy.

Am.onium.perchlorate(APC)is the m.st com.on oxidizer in use for solid rocket propulsion *** its initial therm.l decom.osition is an endotherm.c process that requires 102.5 J·g^-*** m.nner involves high activation energy and could render high burning rate *** study reports on the sustainable fabrication of CuO nanoparticles as a novel catalyzing agent for APC *** CuO nanoparticles with consistent product quality were fabricated by using hydrotherm.l *** m.crographs dem.nstrated m.no-dispersed particles of 15 nm.particle *** diffractogram.dem.nstrated highly crystalline *** synthesized colloidal CuO particles were effectively coated with APC particles via co-precipitation by using fast-crash solvent-antisolvent *** im.act of copper oxide particles on APC therm.l behavior has been investigated using DSC and TGA *** dem.nstrated an initial endotherm.c decom.osition stage at 242℃ with subsequent two exotherm.c decom.osition stages at 297,8℃ and 452.8℃ *** 1 wt%,copper oxide offered decrease in initial endotherm.c decom.osition stage by 30%.The m.in outcom. of this study is that the two m.in exotherm.c decom.osition peaks were m.rged into one single peak with an increase in total heat release by 53%.These novel features can inherit copper oxide particles unique catalyzing ability for advanced highly energetic system..

In recent tim.s,scientists and engineers have been m.st attracted to electrically conducted nanofluids due to their num.rous applications in various fields of science and *** exam.le,they are used in cancer treatm.nt(hypertherm.a),m.gnetic resonance im.ging(m.I),drugdelivery,and m.gnetic refrigeration(m.).Bearing in m.nd the significance and im.ortance of electrically conducted nanofluids,this article aim. to study an electrically conducted water-based nanofluid containing carbon nanotubes(CNTs).CNTs are of two types,single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)and m.ltiple-wall carbon nanotubes(m.CNTs).The CNTs(SWCNTs and m.CNTs)have been dispersed in regular water as base fluid to form.waterCNTs *** Brinkm.n Type nanofluid m.del is developed in term. of tim.-fractional *** ram.ed heating and sinusoidal oscillations conditions have been taken at the *** m.del has been solved for exact analytical solutions via the fractional Laplace transform.*** exact solutions have been graphically studied to explore the physics of various pertinent flow param.ters on velocity and tem.erature *** em.irical results reveal that the tem.erature and velocity fields decreased with increasing values of fractional param.ters due to variation in therm.l and m.m.ntum.boundary *** is also indicated that the isotherm.l velocity and tem.erature are higher than ram.ed velocity and tem.erature.

This work provides an approach to determ.ne the efficiency of T-ray detectors with a good accuracy in order to determ.ne the concentrations of either naturally occurring or artificially prepared radionuclides. This approach is based on the efficiency transfer form.la （ET）, the effective solid angles, the self- absorptions of the source m.trix, the attenuation by the source container and the detector housing m.terials on the detector efficiency. The experim.ntal calibration process was done using radioactive （Cylindrical ＆ m.rinelli） sources, in different dim.nsions, that contain aqueous 152Eu radionuclide. The com.arison point to a fine agreem.nt between the experim.ntal m.asured and calculated efficiencies for the （NaI ＆ HPGe） detectors using volum.tric radioactive sources.
